So glad we went with this refrigerator . . .
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Didn't want to spend a ton but got a great Labor Day sale and took advantage of it. Good decision. What's good about it? Quiet, looks great, spacious, extremely well lit, well organized, the middle drawer is super convenient, fresher fruit longer, plenty of freezer space and we love the water / ice dispenser. Our dog loves ice cubes for some reason so when I walk by I just push the lever and one drops to the floor, instant treat! What we don't like about it is . . . . . . . hmmmm . . . . nothing. Solid product, delivered on-time and without issue. Compressor warranty is 10 years and we added on the Best Buy 5yr warranty so we're covered should anything break. Peace of mind. Love it!

Looks great
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The good part of this fridge is it looks very nice but . I love the design inside. If you buy this make sure you take the 5 year warranty you will need it. I bought this fridge 2/17 to replace a Kenmore I had for 20 years. The ice maker froze you all the time, right from the beginning. I had to get a hair dryer to melt the ice build up. In 11/19 the circulating fan stated making noise for about a week then finally stopped I lost all the food that I had. I called where I had warranty and they said fan went out and had to order a new one which took a week ,now I'm without a fridge. I got it repaid and thought things happen no problem. Now 4/20 same problem the fan went out again. .I'm 71 years old I had 3 weeks of food in the fridge I had delivered because of Covid 19 virus. I lost $250.00 worth of food . I can't go out because of quarantine I have no way of keep anything cold ..I called where I have warranty they came out next day and had to order the part. It's been 10 days and still no part and no fridge and no food !!! I went on line just to see if maybe there was a recall on this fridge and found out there is a class action suit against Samsung for this exact unit.. I called Samsung and explained the problem . Not sure what to do I called WAMG channel 6 news to the reporter that did a story about this unit on 11/19 and how it was plagued with problems ..They want to come out to interview me and do a story on this fridge but with Covid _19 they can't at this time and told me to call Samsung At this time Samsung has done nothing . I'm still without a fridge and food on Social Security 71 years old and totally frustrated with this unit .. I would not recommend this fridge .Buy another brand

Great but the Ice Maker Ruins it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Due to the size of our space, this was one of the only refrigerators that would work. If I was just reviewing the refrigerator space, drawer and freezer, this would definitely get 5 stars. The ice maker alone drops it 2 stars. There is always water leaking out of the ice chute. Ice builds up in the ice maker until it stops working. The fan begins to make a loud noise and the only way to make it stop is to turn off the unit and let it thaw or spray hot water in there and try to remove as much ice as you can. I had a repair person out and they recommended that we just get a counter icemaker and turn off the unit in the fridge. Apparently this is a known issue with Samsung that still does not have a fix. If you have a separate ice maker and don't need to use this one, absolutely go with this fridge. If ice is important to you, save yourself the headache and go with another brand.

LOVE THIS FRIDGE!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Seriously - LOVE this refrigerator!!!! We got the white model and could not be happier! The middle drawer (which we thought was a gimmick...) is actually really cool! We keep our most commonly used things in it. The freezer handle is easy to open. And the freezer holds WAY more than our side by side did! This is my first bottom freezer and I really like the convenience of it. The 2 produce drawers in the fridge hold a lot. One of the condiment trays is a bit weird - the one the comes out and around the ice maker. Not sure what exactly would fit well in there. But the rest of the applicance is a great design! Even the LIGHTING in it is swell! Oh - and the water/ice dispensers work great! Little noise made by this fridge, too. All in all we are very very pleased with this appliance. Have had it about 3 weeks and it rocks.

Posted .Thanks for the feedback, sshopper - so glad you're happy with your new RF25HMEDBSR! Here's a suggestion for the oddly shaped door bin (which, incidentally, goes to show how creative the engineers can be in taking advantage of every available bit of space!): it's the perfect spot for storing packets of sauce from take-out food, or yeast for making bread.
Have a great day!

Sounds like a jet engine
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the set up of the fridge. It's a great size and the top outer drawer is great. HOWEVER, within a week of having the fridge installed it began producing an incredibly loud noise, running almost constantly. A repair man came and said it was the fan, something common after 6 months, too bad my fridge was manufactured only a month previous. The fan was replaced, but did not solve the problem. Another repair man is coming this week, so I'm slightly hopeful I'll be able to enjoy my fridge soon.

Excellent refrigerator
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this frig 2.5 months ago and my family loves it. Our previous frig was a side by side and this one feels huge. It did take a few days to find a shelf configuration we like, but it's great. Tall containers could go on the door shelves, but we like to put them on top. There is not one thing we don't like about this frig. I hope it holds up for years to come.

Weak User Manual
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was little disappointed by the lack of information on the user's manual. For example, it does not clearly depict how to use the folding tray in the refrigerator. It was firmly stuck on a plastic latch and I couldn't figure out how to detach it. I was afraid that if I had used too much of force, I could have broken the piece or crack the tray. It would have been nice if it was little easier to lift the tray. Another missing information is how to utilize the moisture control vents on the produce containers in the refrigerator. There is no description on the manual how these vents affect the vegetables stored in the container. Then my close attention revealed that these boxes are not actually sealed tightly; there are big gaps so the vent controls are just a cheap gimmick. While the Flex-zone drawer with temperature control might be useful, I find its primary function to be similar to a freezer. With that and the huge freezer, the refrigerator space seems to be proportionally small, especially because the ice maker and the dispenser take up its space. Overall, I think it is a good product, but for what it is, it is priced too high.

Posted .Thanks for your feedback, WHYDOINEEDANICKNAME! Samsung's Twin Cooling Plus system maintains a higher level of humidity throughout the refrigerator compared to conventional cooling system, so there's no need for the humidity controlled drawers to be airtight, though the non-airtight enclosure can help to retain moisture even more. Please note that the Flex Zone Drawer is not designed to maintain freezer temperatures; the available settings range from 29°F to 42°F.

Only buy if you love force defrosting ice maker!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'll start off by saying in the beginning we LOVED this refrigerator. Maybe it was because we were coming from a side by side and the layout of the french doors was so much nicer! For our smaller space, this offered one of the highest storage capacities and we liked the idea of the flex drawer for cold drinks, yogurts, etc. Then a little over a year after owning it (no more manufacturer's warranty) the ice maker began freezing over. We have to force defrost our ice maker almost monthly now. During the 20 minute defrost phase, we get to listen to our fridge beep non-stop. I've read this is a design flaw and don't want to pay to repair only to have the issue remain. For the price we paid, we shouldn't even be considering replacing it after a little over 2 years but that's where we are. Definitely will not buy Samsung again. Out of the 4 appliances we have purchased: 1. Fridge - ice maker constantly freezes over 2. Microwave - Randomly beeps and flashes :07 seconds on the display by itself. Again out of warranty and almost $200 fix! 3. Dishwasher - had to have the bottom wash bar replaced after only 3 months of use 4. Stove - Thankfully, fingers crossed, has been great and will stay that way!

Good at first, but down the road it died.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I got the fridge, it ran great and operated as expected. After 5 years, it's finally on the fritz. Around July 2022 the ice maker stopped working and kept freezing up and now in December 2022, the compressor has stopped working with error 84C. The sad part is I have a fridge in the garage that's at minimum a decade old (came with the house when I bought it) and it still runs flawlessly. Things aren't built how they used to be.

Buyer Be Aware
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Please be aware of a problem that most Samsung products suffer from. Our three door refrigerator, that is only five years old, had one of its door handles break while trying to open it. The part, which holds the pin that holds the door handle, broke. The plastic part IS NOT REPLACEABLE. That means that if this part breaks, you have to buy another complete door. There is nothing wrong with the door other than this weak plastic part. The plastic part that failed probably costs a buck or two to make and maybe twelve dollars in a store, if it was sold, now costed us $300. It seems that during design and assembly, SAMSUNG has placed a PLASTIC part that is not repairable and the customer is responsible for their mistake. Custom services' response was that there was nothing they could do because my refrigerator was not under warranty. Since my fridge is five years old, a warranty wouldn't have helped anyway. Your concern should be that SAMSUNG's products have these parts in them. If your spending your hard earned money on SAMSUNG products, your depending on the SAMSUNG name and reputation to help its customers out when one of their products has failed. This is a design flaw by SAMSUNG. SAMSUNG should take responsibility for their mistakes.

Stay away from Samsung devices
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the refrigerator features, but it had a problem with the ice maker since the very first day we got it. Samsung service is absolutely horrible. After 3 months of dealing with them, I finally got a service person on site to fix it before the warranty ran out, and when he got here...his service ticket says its no longer under warranty and he must straighten that out before anything can be done. With this service experience, I cannot recommend the unit to anyone, and will never purchase any Samsung branded product again.

Great Refrigerator
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.By far the best refrigerator I’ve owned. It looks great even with our regular black appliances. The lights on the inside light up the entire fridge. The flex pull out door is great for items such as lunch meat, yogurt, drinks or any other small items. The ice maker and water dispenser work great. I’ve had no leaking issue like others have talked about. The display is easy to read, accurate and easy to program. If I was in the market for another fridge, I would not hesitate to purchase this same one again! It is beautiful and a great addition to any kitchen with black or black stainless appliances, especially if you need the narrower width like we did.

Terrific Refrigerator
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We were so happy to find this refrigerator. The space in our kitchen is rather narrow, so this model fit perfectly and still gives us the utility of convenience wine & cheese drawers and a bottom freezer. We love it.

Ice maker issues

Do your research before purchasing this!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this refrigerator in early 2017 after my old one of 15 years stopped working. I like the look and features of this Samsung model. After a few years, I noticed the ice maker would freeze up. I initially thought it was just a fluke. Like other who have left similar reviews. I used a blow dryer and towel to fix the problem. The problem grew worse as time went on and I lost track of time. Shortly after my three year warranty had expired, the problem was occurring weekly. I contacted Best Buy who informed me they the unit was out of warranty and if they came out there would be a $100 diagnostic fee on top of any repairs. My issue is with Samsung. As I researched the problem, I found numerous online complaints about the same problem with the icemaker. I found several videos on YouTube of people showing the same problem dating back to the time I purchased my refrigerator. Samsung has been aware of the problem for at least three years and has still not done anything to fix the issue. My old unit basic refrigerator that I pay less than $800 for lasted fifteen years. I had no problems with it. I upgraded this one which was three times the cost and it's already having problems with the ice maker. I have also seen videos and read comments about people who've replaced the ice makers and still had problems with it icing up. Before you decide on this refrigerator, take some time to look online to read reviews and watch the YouTube videos. My ice maker didn't even make it to the three year mark before having problems. Not something I would expect from a $2500 refrigerator. Samsung does not seem to really want to fix the issue, so maybe look at other brands.

2 design flaws
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this refrigerator 3 years ago. So far, I have encountered 2 design flaws. The first involves the formation of an ice dam in the freezer defrost drain, eventually causing buildup of ice on the drain tray and the floor of the freezer compartment. Easily fixed ($180). The second involves the freezer temperature sensor. It is located on the upper surface of the freezer, but hangs about a half inch into the compartment. Food in the upper freezer tray can strike it, ripping out the sensor. If wires remain, it can be rewired and secured ($95). If not, time for a new fridge ($$$$) Samsung was no help at all. They make great electronics and repair prone appliances.
