    Dishwasher "the phantom leak"

LC code not even 2 months into owning this fine piece of equipment. LC means leak... but good luck finding that leak. I looked around couldn't find anything. Called my local plumber to look around machine and check the connections the best buy team did when installing, he said everything looks fine to him. So i call best buy they redirect me to Samsung call Samsung. They read from their scripts as politely and kindly as they can. However what they dont tell you is all the stuff you will need to make this call actually get to a end. let me give you guys all this info for when your dishwasher decided to no longer work. take a picture of the code happening. This was most amusing because they say to unplug the dishwasher to troubleshoot... no power no code showing. so now you need the washer to go through another 3 hour cycle to have it code somewhere within that time. dont worry it will code again you just dont know when and Samsung cant wait 3 hours on the phone... you cant either so you will have to call back when you have the code. After that fun then someone will ask ok can you get the receipt. Ok cant remember where i put a receipt from 10 min ago let alone over a month. Lucky thanks to tech you can now get them off the wonderful internet. I did the old person thing of taking a picture of the screen of my monitor because again i had samsung on phone and didnt want to slow down their day, they said i cant do that i need to do an actual screen shot from comp i get the screen shot i ask for an email they provide i get this part of the tale done. So after all this i forgot another crucial piece of info. They want the serial number and model of the dishwasher that's right inside when you open it, its on the top lip. its in the smallest font possible so thats another fun issue i end up taking a picture of that blowing it up on phone so i can actually read the eye test of a set of numbers and letters. That's everything you need to actual get a ticket made for a team to come out.... now im waiting another 24 to 48 hours for that to happen not even sure who/when this will happen....... no contact yet. PS I am a huge Samsung fan all my monitors and TVs are Samsung .... i am now worried for my fridge which is Samsung .... in future i think i will stick with TVs and monitors and stay away from appliances.

Absolute crap. We bought this less than a year ago and it broke. The wiring harness had to be replaced. But also the top rack broke all the pieces off. We had a new one ordered too and the pieces came off out of the box. It took two weeks and lots of fighting with Samsung to get them to fix it under warranty. They also fixed it but refused to reinstalll it. I’m super nervous about my other Samsung appliances after this…get the Best Buy warranty

Falling apart at 9 months old

It cleans ok, but so did the 13 year old unit it replaced. The lower basket has inadequate support so it slips of its runners and jams if you have a few plates in it. The tops of the cutlery holders distorted and cracked. The upper sprayer regularly falls off and the front handle has cracked. I’d suggest avoiding this unit unless you enjoy watching something fall apart in 10 months.

    Worst Dishwasher ever! Stay away!

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Although the Samsung DW80B7070US dishwasher has a sleek and modern design, my experience with it has been quite disappointing. Here are the key issues I’ve encountered: Performance: Despite its high price, the dishwasher has significant flaws. The water top sprayer system unplugs during every wash cycle, requiring me to kneel and replug it each time. This is incredibly inconvenient and frustrating. Ease of Use: The rack for plates frequently disassembles, making it difficult to load and unload dishes. This issue persists despite my meticulous care and maintenance of the appliance. Design: While the stainless steel finish looks nice and complements my kitchen decor, the functional issues overshadow its aesthetic appeal. Overall Satisfaction: Given these persistent problems, I cannot recommend the Samsung DW80B7070US dishwasher. It has been the worst appliance purchase I’ve purchased, and I would advise others to consider alternative options.

Loyalty means nothing, Best Buy doesn't care

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I have been a loyal Best Buy customer for many years, trusting this company for everything from small electronics to high-ticket items. I can say with certainty that my recent experience has completely shattered that trust. A recent issue with one of their premium products exposed a combination of defective merchandise, unhelpful customer service, and rigid policies that left me completely unsupported, despite being a long-term, high-spending customer. Attempts to request reasonable goodwill assistance were flatly refused, even when the defect was documented, widespread, and occurred shortly after the warranty expired. The “loyalty” I had assumed mattered apparently counts for nothing. This experience has completely changed my perception of Best Buy. I can no longer recommend them, and I will be reconsidering every past purchase in light of how they treat customers when things go wrong. Loyalty means nothing if a company refuses to stand behind its products or support its customers. I hope this review serves as a warning to others: premium products and long-term patronage will not protect you from being dismissed. I will also be applying this review to my previous purchases because the pattern of service failure extends beyond just one product or incident.

Beware of the Geek Squad Warrenty

Dishwasher Service Timeline & Issue Summary • Purchase Date: April 2023 • Warranty: 5-Year Warranty (valid through April 2028) • Brand/Model: (include brand/model if available — helps with service escalation) Issue • Failure Date: September 2025 • Issue: Dishwasher stopped washing properly after 516 cycles. ⸻ Service Timeline 1. September 2025: • Contacted Geek Squad for service under warranty. • Appointment scheduled for September 19, 2025. 2. September 19, 2025: • No technician showed up. • Called Geek Squad: was told the job had been outsourced to Service Quick and advised to contact them directly. 3. Service Quick Call: • Was told that Sep 19 was only a “tentative” date, not confirmed. • After explaining the situation, new appointment set for September 25, 2025. 4. September 25, 2025: • Technician arrived and only ran diagnostics. • Said parts needed to be ordered. 5. October 7, 2025: • Second technician arrived with a door harness, • Refused to perform repair because the dishwasher was hard-wired. • Advised that unit must be unhooked and made accessible before service. ⸻ Outstanding Issues • Lack of communication between Geek Squad and Service Quick. • Missed appointments and unclear responsibilities. • Technician refusal due to unit being hard-wired — common in built-in dishwashers. • No resolution after nearly 3 weeks of back-and-forth. ⸻ Key Questions That Need to Be Addressed 1. Why wasn’t the hard-wired setup flagged as a service consideration during dispatch or earlier visits? 2. Why is the burden on the customer to unhook a dishwasher — isn’t this part of professional appliance service? 3. If the unit is unhooked, how will the repair be verified without reconnecting and testing it? 4. What is the escalation path to resolve this quickly under the terms of the warranty?

Do not purchase this dishwasher. Had it for 30 days and its dead. A piece inside popped off (this is common, the tray hits it or your silverware tray), killed the machine and Samsung could not fix it and gave me my purchase price, not including installation and taxes back. I have a broken new product just sitting there in my kitchen. Now I have to purchase another dishwasher and pay the installation fee.

A Symphony of Disappointment: The Samsung Dishwas

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

If I could give this Samsung dishwasher and Best Buy's service negative stars, I'd be summoning numbers from a parallel universe. Brace yourself for a tale of woe and frustration. The Dishwasher That Almost Could: The Samsung Smart 42dBA Dishwasher arrived with dreams of sparkling dishes but turned out to be a mechanical nightmare. First off, the door behaves like a stubborn mule - it simply refuses to open all the way. Every attempt to coax it open fully is met with a chorus of crunching sounds, as if it's chewing on the very idea of functioning properly. But wait, there's more. Just when I thought I had reached the peak of my dishwashing drama, a mysterious screw decided to part ways with the machine. Yes, a screw fell out, as if signaling a slow, unceremonious dismantling of what was supposed to be a pinnacle of kitchen efficiency. Best Buy's Vanishing Act: As for the service from Best Buy, it was like waiting for a ghost. They promised to send out a team to address these issues. I marked my calendar, rearranged my schedule, and waited with bated breath. But alas, on the day of reckoning, they pulled a vanishing act worthy of a magic show - no technicians, no phone call, no explanation. Poof! Gone! In conclusion, between the dishwasher's partial opening act and the crunching serenade, topped off with the mysterious case of the wandering screw, and Best Buy's disappearing service team, I'm left with a kitchen appliance saga that's more drama than clean dishes. Beware, future buyers, beware.

Negative stars. It died after 1.5 years. This dishwasher will break at the most inconvenient time (the day before Thanksgiving). It looks as though the adhesive keeping the plastic/insulation under the tub failed and crushed the pump/components. The dishwasher would act as if it was running but did not have any water (we could hear it in the tubing but none got inside). And of course it’s out of warranty. Thanks but no thanks Samsung!

      Hi MorganJ,

Thank you for sharing your experience with the Samsung DW80B7070US dishwasher. We truly value your input and understand how frustrating it must have been to encounter this situation, especially at such a critical time.
The symptoms described, including the adhesive failure and water supply issues, could result from wear or external factors. To better understand this, the manual's "Maintenance and Troubleshooting" section (pages 28–38) provides guidance on maintaining the adhesive and pump system, as well as tips for diagnosing water flow concerns. Check if the supplied water pressure is between 20 and 120 psi.

You can access the full manual here for detailed information:

Original install was before Thanksgiving. Installer told me whoever built my home in 2013 did not know what they were doing. Should not be a cabinet between dishwasher and sink. Then removed old dishwasher (still worked but replaced because we got new range and microwave and wanted them to match). Fussed about entire install. When he left, i ran a load of dirty dishes for first time and the water is not draining. Now 3 weeks later and I still do not have a functioning dishwasher. Best Buy did not prioritize getting installer back out. The two day they had available I was not able to be home because my son had a sports tournament. Have appointment for 12/18

The door is not opening fully therefore it is a hassle to operate lower tray. A team came and inspected they said they saw couple more dishwashers with same issue by Samsung. They think door spring is the problem. I will have a new dishwasher delivered on Saturday. I hope it will function better. I have to say it is not drying well. It ends the cycle with large pools of water on each tray. I am disappointed with the drying performance. Also I don't believe it has a cancel and drain function

Purchased a Samsung suite for my kitchen around 2 years ago. The dishwasher almost immediately failed with code "LC". Tech Support came out several times to no avail, finally replacing the entire unit as a lemon. I chose to 'upgrade' to this model, staying within the Samsung family. Unfortunately, after 1 year and 3 months, this unit now has the "LC" code. When the unit *was* working, cycles took almost 3 hours and the dry feature was useless. Better let them dry overnight, but you'll still need a towel in hand. Stay away from this overpriced junk if you can help it!

Literal piece of junk!! From the very beginning I noticed this dishwasher had been cheaply made. Pieces kept breaking off, how be it non essential pieces, so I brushed it off. We had to get Best Buy out here once before to fix it because the dishwasher itself was leaking. We just passed the 2 year mark of having this thing (so no warranty in place anymore) and all of a sudden we hear a loud noise come from it. I was hoping it was a freak thing, but the dishes came out with a dusty film all over them and now it won’t start period. It’s insane for this to be almost 1k. We’re not made of money, and it takes us time to save up and purchase things like this. We’re so sad that it’s only been two years and we’re already having to scrounge to buy another dishwasher. Please don’t end up in the same sitaution as us, look elsewhere.

Dishwasher delivered and installed on Friday (two days ago). Standing water in the bottom. Online troubleshooting said water in the bottom was almost always an installation error. I called for service and the soonest is almost two weeks away. I will not be buying any more major appliances from Best Buy. Additionally, setting up a service appointment took almost wo hours. The iPhone chat app errored out and would not allow me to interact. The online chat was extremely slow as well. It's insane to pay this amount for a new product, have the company make the error with installation, and then have to wait almost two weeks to get it fixed. Would not recommend Best Buy. The dishwasher, to be fair, is great.

Dishwasher might be ok, customer support is awful!

I am unhappy with the dishwasher - though that could be taken care of. Customer support is, however, HORRIBLE. I bought this dishwasher 6 months ago and from the beginning to door operated very roughly - felt like something was scraping. The release feature at the end of a cycle did not work because of that, only cracking the door about 1/2 inch. I thought it might break in over time but I finally called to have them take care of it - the unit is still under warranty. Samsung sent out a technician who confirmed that the hinges were the problem and then connected with Samsung HQ. After he showed them the evidence over a video call, the remote person declared "physical damage" saying that it would not be covered under the warranty. They offered no evidence of any physical damage. I've since called customer support and they have now shifted their reason for not covering it to "installation error" saying the space is too small. The tech who was here verified that there was ample space on either side of the dishwasher. Changing the reason for not honoring the warranty when they could not justify their first diagnosis is a pretty big smell. So in summary, the one year warranty is a total sham.
