Inferior Materials and Manufacturing

Owned for 10 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Now that we've had this dishwasher for 10 months, I can provide pros and cons on its day-to-day performance. Pro: It gets the job done - have not had any issues with wash performance. I don't have any devices to measure sound level, but while it isn't loud, it isn't exactly quiet either. We've learned to wait to start it if we are watching a movie or a TV show at night, because we will hear it washing during quieter parts of the shows. Cons: First thing would be that it doesn't ever really do the AutoRelease thing. Not really a big deal for us, but it is worth mentioning. I would say the manufacturing process leaves a good bit to be desired. On the upper rack there is a plastic slider that allows the entire row of tines to be angled for either regular cups and mugs or wine glasses. The plastic arm that controls this comes off after EVERY SINGLE WASH and has to be reattached. Also, we recently discovered that the top face plate (with the buttons) has several small chips and a large 1" crack running vertically on it. I contacted Samsung and they basically told me "tough luck, we consider that physical damage so we won't be covering it". I've tried to appeal this but it has become evident that Samsung will not stand by their products and you're just going to have to "set your expectations" as I was told on the phone by the representative. Needless to say, Samsung has received their last penny from this family of five.

Meh quality

Within the first month I had already had to call for a replacement on the second level levers that raise and lower the basket. Within four months I will now have to replace both sides since they're made with some cheap and thin plastic for the grips that hold them onto the basket. Nonetheless the prongs on the basket seem kind of flimsy as well. Should've gotten the Maytag or something else. Shame there was a shortage on everything and I needed a dishwasher asap. For almost $1200 this thing has a lot of functions but doesn't do the bare minimum well.

Bad design

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We like having the third rack, This model looked very similar to our previous Boesh model on the inside and it was on sale so we selected it because we needed a dishwasher right away. If you raise the upper rack high enough to place a normal size dinner plate on the lower rack, there is not enough room for glasses on the upper rack. The seems to be only two levels of adjustment. The other issue is the rubber dampening pad used behind the front cover installed per manufacturers instructions does not allow the door to open all the way and makes it difficult to load dishes until you get some weight on it to hold it down. It is fairly quiet and does seem to clean the dishes well, but upper rack adjustment is a design flaw.

Fundamental flaw in design

It cleaned my dishes efficiently and ran quietly. One month in though, a gasket started leaking, causing water to spill onto my kitchen floor. They came out twice to fix this under warranty. It appears that the gasket is too small for the cover it is supposed to seal. A year later, the same thing happened again. When I reached out for help, they demanded a hefty $150 just to diagnose the issue, with the repair most likely doubling that cost. That ends up being 30% of the cost of the dishwasher for a design flaw of their making (IMO). In the end, I opted to not pay to have it repaired. The appliance itself had potential, but the fundamental flaw with the gasket and the high cost of diagnosis left me with a bad taste in my mouth. If you’re considering this dishwasher, be prepared to navigate some icy waters when it comes to reliability and customer service.

Error codes

Have had repairman to the house, and they couldn't figure it out. Worked good for a while and is back to the error codes. Had to renew the warranty to fix the machine.

Samsung electronics maybe, Samsung appliances no!!

They sent a technician and refused to service the unit based on an incorrect diagnosis (in my opinion). Sending it to the junkyard. Moral of the story, be wary of Samsung appliances and especially so if they find loopholes in order to prevent them from having to fix a unit that isn’t even 1 year old.

Not so good

The water never drained when finished washing. Though the machine really nice looking and very quite. I just wish it works the way it supposed to.

CHEAP and FLIMSY, broke after 6 weeks.

The racks are cheap and don't glide in and out smoothly. The top rack adjusts up and down, but really it just likes to fall down. The door doesn't stay horizontal when loading it until you get some weight on the bottom rack. Then, after only 8 weeks, it has thrown an error code THREE TIMES and stopped working.

lower rack doesnt support dishes

Problem is the bottom tier for dishes does not keep the dishes upright. Once loaded when you go to close the rack and then door the dishes fall on themselves causing chips etc to the falling dishes. You think they'd see that when testing???

Install problem

Returning

My main concern was the way the bottom rack tines are placed/ arranged. There is a gap/open space about in the middle--i suppose for bigger bowls? But that leaves less room to load dishes. 2nd, when loaded, found the bottom rack heavy to pull out. 3rd: the door pops open when the drying cycle is done. I dont know if there is a way to override this, but i find it a safety hazard if you have young kids around. I gave it 2 stars for quietness and the way it cleaned the dishes. I'm buying a different make with a full Rack of tines in the bottom rack.

Auto open problems

Auto open leaves alot of water on door and it pours on both sides of doors onto my wood floor and bottom cabinets. Once I figure out how to disable this feature I'll update my review.

Broke in less than one month

The top rack fell until it hit my dinner plates. I was discouraged but reviewed the small user manual. I followed its instructions and attempted to lift the top rack back into position. Complicated, but I seemed to do it. However, now the front door of this dishwasher will not close. A Best Buy technician has to come out for repair. I am no longer confident in this model and may exchange it. Both racks are loosely in their tracks and easily shift off track.

Quiet Good Looking Piece of Junk

You have to pre-wash until clean before loading into the dishwasher. Horrible. Hate it. Is very quiet though. Top rack already broken. Seriously considering purchasing another dishwasher to replace this one. Having a horrible dishwasher is upsetting my whole life. Seriously disappointed.

Horrible experience

do not buy this

However, there is no leak to be found, called customer service, they came replaced a whole panel which made the washer work again. That did not last nearly six months and the "LC" error shows up again, that was my cue to buying a new dishwasher and not wasting money and time trying to go through the repair process again. Do not buy.

Doesn’t dry dishes well.

Awful

Beyond that - multiple pieces have broken off inside within a few months, it makes a horrific creaking noise when it is opened and closed and the material and build quality is terrible. I asked Best Buy to rectify, and basically got a shrug. Someone should replace this for me, but I won't hold my breath.
