Builder Grade Style Dishwasher

Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We had Best Buy replaced our 1.5yr old Samsung Dishwasher due to a leaking door that could not be fixed. That style unit was no longer available so we ended up swapping out with a model just under the one we had. Same keypad functions but not a Wi-Fi unit. Not that we really needed it. We would have liked if this model came with adjustable racks. It did not. The door does pop open to allow for some additional drying at the end of the cycle. It helps but some of the top rack always has water remaining on some items. While I'm at it with the door, it seals just fine but it is truly flimsy with no real spring action to give it some tension. It will drop rather fast after going pas that "pop" open part for drying. This is a negative for us. There is a PowerWash function on the bottom of the tub but it seems to be just a sales gimmick and actually doesn't serve our needs at all. Overall, the dishwasher gets the job done. It's a slight bit noisier with a flimsy door, At least this one doesn't leak - for now. If you're shipping for a dishwasher, unless you don't mind something that feels like builder grade quality, then look at some other models that have adjustable rack features and a sturdier door.

It cleans well but it’s taking sometime to adjust to the racks. While I do like having the 3rd rack, I find the bottom rack more difficult to utilize than may last dishwasher. There are a lot of larger spaces in the bottom rack that allow smaller (lunch containers) items to fall through. The plate slots seem pretty close together too which made me worry about how clean they are getting but so far so good. No complaint at with operation or ability to clean but if you are very particular about how your dishwasher is loaded this one might not be for you.

Not bad, but Know what you're getting

However, we did not like the drying performance. The specs say it has heated dry, and maybe it does but it does not dry at all like a traditional dishwasher with a heat element inside. I read in the documentation that using the sanitation option will help to dry the dishes better. It did work better but after spending this much I just wanted dry dishes like what my old dishwasher could do. I know some people do use the heated dry at all because they think it uses too much power. If you’re that kind of person this dishwasher will be perfect for you. I ultimately sent this one back and pay a little more for the 42 dba Samsung unit with the heated smart dry. That one dries very good and I didn’t mind may a couple of hundred more to know my dishes will be dry when I take them out. The other thing I didn’t like about this unit for that the countdown timer was on top of the unit. You cant really see it when the door is closed. The upgraded model has the number displayed on the front of the unit you can see it from across the room no problem.

NOT my favorite!

I LOVE having the 3rd rack(small utensil one on top) BUT it takes up space so I can't put my Stanley in there. It's a compromise. I DON'T love the way that the bottom rack is set up. There is no place for large casserole dishes or pans because every inch has the wire "holders" and so what I end up doing is moving the utensil basket to the left side of the rack and putting my casserole dishes/pans on the right side where the basket is supposed to go. And the way the wire "holders" are set up feels awkward somehow, not efficient. Also, for some reason it doesn't dry very well but maybe I just haven't found the right setting.

I had to threaten to get an attorney before Samsung would finally send a repair person because it's still under warranty. I felt like I was going thru an interrogation to get the work done. It finally works, but they adjusted the leveling and now it's off. I love that it's very quiet.

Cons: Requires a complex series of buttons and commands just to set a cycle, and does not retain previous settings so you have to do it EVERY WASH. Also; the door drops open 4 minutes at the end of a wash to "complete the drying cycle". Huh? Spend a little more and get a more straightforward unit.

However the drying function is nothing to be desired. Does not dry well atvall dishes stay wet for hours and still tend to have to hand dry them. Space isnt very good

The upper rack of your dishwasher can be adjusted to accommodate large plates.
Depending on where you set the upper rack height, the lower rack can accommodate plates up to 12 in. (30 cm) in diameter, and the upper rack can accommodate plates up to 8 in. (20 cm) in diameter.

It works for the price point
