    Great looking, horrible function

The other reviews are right, the bottom rack falls off the track constantly. I figured it was a small price to pay for a great dw, but I was wrong. Very hard to get it back on track when loaded with dishes. Even with scraping and pre-rinsing, the dishes didn't come out clean! Apparently you need to scrub and wash before putting in the dishwasher. I refuse, so this went back. Plus the bottom looks like a trim piece is missing in the photo, it just doesn't exist. Had my 10 year old basic Maytag put back in and it blows away the Samsung. Sadly it doesn't match my SS Samsung appliances so I will eventually have to buy a SS dishwasher.

    Samsung have great products

My dishwasher was getting old and it needed repairs. We saw where we could get a new Samsung for about $450. Compare that with the difference between spending over a $100 fixing it and it didn't sound like a bad idea. Then the fun began: We purchased the Samsung and then found out if would be $140 to get it installed. We spend another $130 on the 4 year extended warranty. Then we are told the we need a plumbing and an electrical permit by the city of Muskego. Tack on another $130 and now that $450 dishwasher is over $900 when you include tax too. Then the installers came and would not install it because we did not have a electrical plug-in under the sink. The old dishwasher was wire directly into the circuit. Having an electrician come out would have cost another $200 or $300. Now that $450 dishwasher was a whopping $1200. We finally came to our senses and told Best Buy that we did not want the dishwasher and we going to fix the old one.

    Don't buy Samsung

Two years and two months after we bought this dishwasher it stopped working. The authorized repair service had a difficult time finding the low level water sensor that, according to the computer, was the problem. They finally found one, however, when installed it still would not work. The only other thing to do was to replace the entire control panel, which cost almost as much the dishwasher itself. My wife and I are empty nesters and the unit has never gotten a tremendous amount of use. It certainly should have lasted longer than 2+ years. Guess who's getting a new dishwasher? Guess what brand it won't be?

Works very well. I have had no problems with it at all. It is very quiet, I can run it with company over and no one even knows that it's on. It does not have heating coils on the bottom for drying which is great because my kids were always melting things in my old one!

Nice dishwasher cleans great, nice and quiet; but the cycles are too long. I do not use it all the time maybe once or twice a week, so it's ok for the price.

We upgraded all our appliances to stainless a couple months ago (all Samsung). We are happy with the Samsung products except for this diswasher. It is the worst dishwasher I have ever owned. Does not get stuff clean on normal cycle and the extended cycle takes well over 2 hours....2.5 hours I believe. Glass glasses are foggy, plates have residue on them, bowls not clean, etc. Very poor. Very poor. Wish I had my maytag back....that thing worked much better.

My husband and I purchased our this dishwasher for the First time on October 11, 2010. I was replacing a 7 year old amana, and I was thrilled with the quietness of the samsung, and it's features. It looked so great in my kitchen....until it broke 2 days before Thanksgiving, with a broken main control panel. There were no replacement parts available, so samsung, after a month of waiting, issued us a number to get a replacement model, which we got on 12/19/2010. All was hunky dory, until July 2, 2011, when my dishwasher died...again. Main control board, again. Today (8/4/11), I'm going to Best Buy, with yet another return number from Samsung, to get a replacement. Except this time, I'm going to try to get a different brand...I have no faith in Samsung.

Can a dishwasher make you angry?

Have you ever rebooted a dishwasher? We bought this one in December for about $700. And not long after that the problems started, a certain combination of lights blinking which according to the manual was indicative of a functional error. Reboot, the manual says. Since we can't reach the power plug I had to cut the juice, until the next time. That worked until about six weeks ago when it wouldn't come back top life. We waited for more than a week until the repair was completed. Now the error came back - again we have to wait for more than a week. My wife and I both work long hours and we have three children. So far, we haven't been able to convince Samsung that this is a lemon. I'm afraid we will have to go through another one of those horrible weeks, just to get another one of those that we don't trust anymore. Oh, btw: all the other gripes that people have with this model are true. My seven year old Samsung plasma is going strong, though.

    Dishwasher good - installation bad

I had Best Buy install the dishwasher. The installer created a hole in the new hose. The leak was not detected until the wood floor around the dishwasher started to buckle. The repair person was great but was so busy he could not come back to repair the hose for a week. Bottom line: I would not recommend that Best Buy install your dishwasher.

We bought this dishwasher to replace the old dishwasher in a home we just bought. The old dishwasher sounded like a freight train when we ran it on the home inspection. We never ran dishes in that. I ripped it out the day we moved in and replaced it with this awesome unit. I installed it and fired her up. Had to place my ear on the door to hear it running in heavy mode! Virtually silent while operating. Dries dishes just perfectly as well. Not a single issue.

This is a great dishwasher. BUY IT! Don't listen to negative reviews. I almost didn't buy this because of the negative reviews. I am glad I didn't listen. I dot an open box one, only paid $450.00. WORTH EVERY PENNY! Now, I actually rinse my dishes off before I put them into the dishwasher and don't leave stuff caked on them for days and expect the dishwasher to get them off so myabe thats what other do that don't like this machine. BUY IT! Contrary to what others say, it does tell you, IN BIG LETTERS, to use a drying agent/additive in the machine for better drying. I just crack the machine open when its done and they dry just fine!

So far so good........ For the price this dishwasher is as good as any bosch or whirlpool which are around $800. I would suggest buying this product for anyone looking for a very quite dishwasher. The quality is excellent!

I read other reviews that say that they think it's easy to load. Maybe we just have weird sized dishes, but everything seems awkward to load to me. Does an average job of cleaning. It is very quiet. My main gripe is that we've had it less than a year and it has rust spots on the front. I called Samsung and they do not cover rust under the warranty. Neat.

For this much money, not worth it. Number 1, This dishwasher doesn't dry your dishes. You must open the door after the last cycle to help dry the dishes and even then the entire dishwasher and your dishes are covered with water. Number 2, food particles get caught in the lower half of the door and underneath the door. If you do not frequently clean the food particles off your door, you will get a nasty smell after a period of time. Number 3, the rack layouts on both and top are not very good. In summary, a basic low price model compares equally to this model. Maybe the new model is better.

Decided to purchase high-end for the spouse expecting to install and forget about washing dished for next 20 or so years. Unit lasted 11 mo. then quit. Yes, just quit. Called for service...still waiting for service 5 weeks later. Do not expect much from Samsung Service. They answer the phone and that's about it. Not sure yet how this will end up...get it fixed, money back, new unit, nothing at all. Non of the options will be completely satisfactory, as I have a lot of wasted time in this that know one sees but me. What I am sure of is that I will AVOID everything Samsung in the future and tell my family and friends same.

    Worst Dishwasher I ever Had

I bought this dishwasher from BestBuy thinking it was going to be wonderful. The BB installer was not qualified to install. He fooled with the dishwasher for 3 hours and in the process cut one of the hoses and had to quit leaving it sit in the middle of my kitchen for 2 more weeks while BB tried to figure out what to do. Finally, he came back PATCHED the cut hose and took another 2 hours to finally install it. From the start it never cleaned the dishes throughly and I always have to dry them when they come out. And, yes, I read the instructions and tried to figure out why it didn't clean or dry well and all to no avail. You take the dishes out and water literally drips all over the floor until you trowel them dry. I started washing all the debris off them but that didn't help either. If there are 5 glasses in the top, three of them will have dried debris in the bottom. I have to then hand wash them. I don't know why this is such a piece of junk but I want to just rip it out and buy another Kenmore. My 14 year old Kenmore did a better job, and was a lot cheaper. What a piece of junk. I wish it would blow the motor so I'd have an excuse to buy another Kenmore. Do yourself a favor, don't buy this thing. I am so frustrated by it I coudl scream.

This dishwasher does look pretty in the kitchen. But that is the only plus as far as I can tell. After over a month of owning this machine, I now have a good understanding of how to get clean dishes from it: wash the dishes thoroughly before putting them in! Adding to the irritation factor, the racks are very limiting so that unless you have only standard plates and glasses, it is hard to stack much at all in either level, meaning you can't load as many as you'd like. So much for those good energy and water saving ratings; they are clearly misleading as you end up using more water cleaning before loading, as well as having to run more loads (also rewashing all those items that did not come out thoroughly washed). Wish I had exchanged it before my 30 days were up; I simply didn't want the hassle but now I realize I have set myself up for being hassled every time I use it. It would almost be as good to just stick with hand washing altogether. I never thought I would miss my old dishwasher...
