    Great Product for the price

We debated between this one and a Bosch dishwasher and decided to get this one. Overall it is a nice product. The built-in food grinder was the deciding factor and was a good decision. I can't believe how quiet this machine is when running. It does take a while to run a cycle (2.5 hours) though. Performance-wise it cleans very well. There have been a couple of instances where an item was not completely clean, but may have been the way I had loaded the dishwasher. Highly recommend using a decent rinse agent too. The stainless steel interior is nice. I was concerned that not having a built-in heater would be a problem, but dishes always come out dry. I wish the stainless steel exterior wasn;'t so prone to finger-printing, but that comes with having stainless steel products I guess. Overall I would recommend to anyone!

    Expecting More

Based on the reviews that I read, I thought I would LOVE my new dishwasher. I had to wait 3 weeks for it to come, so anticipation fueled my expectations. Have had it 3 weeks now and still trying to tell myself I made a good choice. I had hoped to not have to rinse dishes much...ha ha!!! One load and I was back to completely rinsing every dish; the dishwasher is basically a sterilizer -- which is important too. In every load, I pull out at least one dirty bowl and several dirty pieces of silverware (often spoons). The lower rack feels so lightweight that I wonder how long it will hold up. No wheels have fallen off yet, but you have to be slow and careful closing or it'll come off "track". 6 rows of tines in the bottom, but they are only aligned in pairs, making it more difficult to overlap into another row. The front row is so close to the large rubber handle for opening, that no dishes can really fit in that portion of the row. My silverware doesn't fit through the slits in the silverware rack, not to mention that it is a joke if you needed to remember the "map" of where knives, forks and spoons go in the 8 compartments! It was the only part of the manual that give specific direction about how to load. I wish it had said something about how to load the top rack. It is only a matter of time before a glass breaks on the top. They just fall over...even without moving the rack. Some rows are pretty narrow, but that hasn't been a problem since some of my glasses are also narrow. The variety of widths makes it easier to load a variety of things. I had a Whirlpool prior to this, only lasted 7 years, so I decided not to get another one. I'm afraid I'm going to regret that decision. The Whirlpool was cheaper and washed about the same as this. If they go in clean, they'll come out clean. Stainless Steel front looks nice as long as you never touch it with wet hands...fingerprints and drips don't wipe up easily. Features: Don't know why I didn't notice that it doesn't have "Quick Wash" If you're having a party, this can be pretty helpful. But, not a necessity That's not to say, there are not things I love: IT's SUPER QUIET!!! If that is what you need most, this is the dishwasher for you. Also, it can hold a lot of plates in the bottom. With everyone's recommendation, I put in Jet Dry and use the Finish dishwasher soap. The glasses always look great!!! (This was a problem in my Whirlpool) My recommendation: Keep looking unless the price is too good to be true. I bought it on sale and am expecting $130 in rebates

    Very happy with my purchase

I bought a Samsung fridge last year and decided that my old dishwasher was on it's way out... so, I figured I'd get a matching Samsung dishwasher, too. After reading all of the negative reviews here, I was a bit apprehensive. However, I am happy to say that I made a wise choice. I'm not sure if others here are getting bad units, using crummy dish detergent, or forgetting rinse agent, but I am very pleased with the results *I* am getting. I use Finish Powerball detergent, Finish Jet Dry rinse agent, load the dishes and silverware pretty much like the manual says and my dishes are clean and dry every time! After experiencing the results first-hand, I can confidently say that heated drying isn't necessary. The sanitize feature works great, too! This unit is pretty quiet and beats the pants off my old GE, though it's not as quiet as my parent's Maytag. My only complaint is related to the tine arrangement. It works great for plates, but limits the number of bowls you can put in the lower rack. The upper rack is staggered, which is great for pots and pans, though I had to experiment different ways to arrange bowls and cups so they will fit and won't fall over. Now that I have figured it out, it isn't even an issue. In terms of value, this one is tough to beat (provided you get it when it's on sale).

I replaced a unit that was vintage 1989. It came with the house but had finally made it to the end of its life after I noticed a little leaking. I went out and researched the interesting world of dishwashers. So they range from under $300 to over $1,000. WOW! I like the following features on this one. Nice style with no button on outside of unit. Makes it easy to clean without pressing buttons. Stainless steel inside helps with new drying feature and helps make it quiet. Overall the noise on the new one was MUCH quieter than the old one. If I ran the old one it would be an intrusion to watching TV. The Samsung runs quiet. There are quieter ones on the market and you can hear the Samsung when the pump runs to fill etc. But its pretty quiet. Large capacity with a top shelf that holds tall glasses, bowls even plates! You can adjust the top shelf as well. Basically - plenty of room. Only negative I can think of is the drying capability. It does not have a heating element like old dishwashers. Check the tech specs for the details. It does indeed dry dishes and cutlery, but plastic items like Tupperware are not well dried. Not a biggie and I am happy to save both the environment and a few dollars on electricity. But you should know about this method before making your selection. Very happy with the Best Buy install as well. I do plenty of home projects but when it involves the potential to flood my kitchen I like a pro and warranty. I would recommend this as a good value for the features. Sure you can spend more for a silent model with some other cycles etc but I think this one works great!

This was a great purchase that I made about 4 weeks ago. It was very simple and easy for me to install. I am a novice when it comes to these kinds of things. I didn't buy the Best Buy installation package. Everything I needed was included. I took the power cord off the old machine and put it on this one. It was very simple to do. Anyone can do it. The dishwasher operates so quietly I can hardly tell when it is running. I have to look at the lights to determine whether it is on. Great price for included features. I love it and recommend it to anyone wanting quality. This was a great purchase. I chose not to buy the extended warranty package due to the great factory coverage that came with the appliance.

    Great Dishwasher for the Price

I have studied and looked over many, many dishwashers and the one thing I found was that none were perfect! This one is neither perfect nor the best but for the price it is top notch. We have had this item for a few months now and use it about every other day. It is very quiet, gets the dish clean and pretty dry. First off I do rinse my dishes off , just my thing and know the dishwasher(this one or one for 1200) will not get all of the gunk off if I don't at least help it out. It does dry the dishes pretty good with the rinse aide and i use it as the manual suggests. I've read that the railing for some is an issue but I tested them on all the other dishwashers and they all have the same issue with coming off the ledge if you pull it too far or turn it awkwardly. Not an issue as I am gentle with all my items. I would certainly recommend this item to anyone looking to get a solid dishwasher that will do what you need it for the price.

After we decided on this dishwasher but before we purchased, we read some reviews that had us second-guessing ourselves. Having owned the appliance for about 6 weeks now, we are confident that we made the right decision. Easy installation (we did it ourselves), quiet, VERY clean dishes (including kitchen glasses). The dishwasher ran 6 full loads within 24 hours during the holidays and didn't skip a beat. We purchased during a great sale at Best Buy so we feel we got more than what we paid for. This is our 3rd dishwasher in 8 years. Fingers crossed! The only downside is the length of the cycle which is much longer than our previous dishwashers. But they didn't clean our dishes so this one is worth the wait.

We have owned Kenmore, Kitchenaid, GE, and Bosch, and they all cost roughly twice as much as this Samsung. This dishwasher outperforms all of them except the Bosch...it's on about the same level as our high-end Bosch. I love the design of the outside, but what is more impressive is the quality on the inside. Stainless throughout, very good quality rack and rack design (better than the Bosch), and it's EXTREMELY quiet. I cannot see why someone would pay more for another unit. Samsung makes quality products. We have owned a set of Samsung front-load laundry machines for over 2 years, and they are amazing. If you're wondering about the Samsung...trust me, it's amazing. Cleans the dishes very well, and the blue LED lights are a nice feature, as well. One thing to remember. Like the Bosch models, these dry dishes differently than most traditional dishwashers. They do not have an exposed heating element, and take longer to dry your dishes. May leave some plastic dishes a bit wet, but it does not get as hot as most dishwashers do...and no steam vent on the front of the unit. We are very pleased, and the Best Buy installation was quick and painless. Thank you Best Buy!

    Overall, seems really good

Seems to get dishes very clean; a lot quieter than our old one; our family room is next to the kitchen and you really can't hear it running - the old dw you had turn the volume up on the tv when it was running. Only complaint is loading glasses - they're supposed to go on the top left, but the way they designed that top tray just doesn't work, at least for our glasses. They just don't fit all that well; the smallest glasses do, but not the larger ones. We already broke one - you have to make sure to put the glass over one of the tongs so the glass doesn't fall over. Not a big deal, just have to watch that a little bit. Only other downside is how long a cycle is, but again, it's really quiet so we don't really care how long it takes.

    Is my dishwasher on!?

My wife and I bought this dishwasher to replace an old cream colored whirlpool that came with the house we purchased, along with the samsung french door fridge and gas range. 1 month later and still super happy with our decision. This washer is so quiet you cant tell its on until it starts draining! Love the sanitize option for when we have kids or if im working with poultry, i know i wont have to worry about it. As far as problems with drying, i had read all the reviews on this before purchasing and noticed everyone complaining about that. We were well aware and prepared. I bought some cascade rinse aid and we have opened the door to clean dry dishes and dishwasher since day one. I installed the dishwasher and was very easy. Had some issues with my water hose but was not due to the dishwasher. My one complaint about this dishwasher is the soap holder door. It is a little to close to the bottom drawer and if not careful, you can put something in front of it and it wont open. We were prepared for this issue as well and knew about it before hand so was able to go ahead and adjust to it early on so no major issues there. But still it did not open once. All in all Samsung delivers again with their amazing appliances and will continue to use and recommend their products.

    Quiet Dishwasher

We purchased this dishwasher to replace the old Maytag that came with our house that we had multiple problems with. This Samsung dishwasher is very QUIET. It washes everything well (I like to use the Finish tablets), and even though there isn't a heated dry, it still does an okay job on drying the dishes, cutlery and most glasses. (You must use a jet dry to get the best drying results). I like the cutlery holders, they make things more organized and I also can fit more items in a load than my previous dishwasher. I would definately recommend this dishwasher, for the price it's an excellent buy!

    Looks better than it performs

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

We replaced our 1999 Maytag dishwasher with this model Samsung. It looks great but isn't as effective at cleaning the dishes. Specifically, the intelligent cleaning cycle isn't that 'smart' and we stopped using it because the dishes were not getting clean. On a few occaisions the soap dispensor didn't open so the dishes had to be rewashed. The lower rack has a large plastic block for gripping that inhibits the flow of water from washing food particles off the door. Every time you open the dishwasher there's junk on the door, and we pre-rinse most of the dishes. The rack system is lightweight and will jump the track if you don't use even pressure when closing. There are a few good points... it's a very quiet dishwasher, better than expected and much quieter than our old Maytag. Inspite of it's flaws, the dishes are clean most of the time and there's alot of space for different types of containers / dishes etc. Adjust your expectations and you will probably agree that this is a capable but only Average dishwasher.

Takes some getting used to but we like it

This dishwasher is really quiet, and it fits so many more dishes than we could get in our old one. The adjustable top shelf has come in handy. Keep in mind that you can't load tall items on the bottom shelf, left side, near the front - your soap dispenser won't open. This is obvious when you think about it but we have forgotten already. This unit doesn't really handle plates and pots at the same time. Also, you absolutely need to use the Sanitize option and put rinse aid in your dishwasher. There is no traditional heating element to dry your dishes in this dishwasher.

    I LOVE IT!!

Our old one did not work so good (dishes came out dirtier then when they went in). So we wanted to upgrade. What I love about this dishwasher- 1-It is super quiet- when it is running it is barely noticable 2-The hidden controls-little fingers can't push the buttons! 3-The dishes are spotless!! Every load has come out spotless and I have not even added the rinse agent yet! Even if they were not rinsed first! 4-When I oppened it at first-I thought it had a lot less storage room then my previous model-but it does not - with the way the racks are laid out, it was a little difficult to figure out how to load it at first, but now, I can fit more dishes in than in my old one AND they come out clean (Big Bonus) 5-Easy to set! Helpful hints if you purchase this model: 1-When loading-practice practice practice! It takes a little practice to get the loading right but once you figure it out - It's easy 2-Do not pull the bottom rack all the way out-It is a little bit of a pickle to get back in 3-If using sanitize mode, after the load is done, leave the dishwasher open for about 10 mins and it will finish drying.

    Very Quiet

Our old dishwasher was about 15 years old and was very LOUD. We wanted one that was quieter since our kitchen and living room are all one large area and it was hard to even hear the TV when the old one was running. This one you can hardly hear at all when running except for when it's draining the water out. The only complaint is that we cannot put as much dishes in it as our old one, but that is due to the extra insulation to help make it quiet. The only other complaint might be that there is no heated dry feature so you have to let items air dry a bit longer, but not that much. Had it about 2 months now and we are happy with it.

Bought this dishwasher on 2/3/2012 for $484.99 on sale. Had a hard time putting it in as bottom is solid not open like most dishwashers have had. Tunnels for water and power lines. Washes dishes well. As stated above very quiet dishwasher. Does not dry as well on top as heated type dishwashers. Using Auto Sense and sanitize works best for our family. Use distilled vinegar for drying agent instead of brand name agents. Vinegar can be used to freshen smell of dishwasher if pour in about a cup on filling. Have not complaints otherwise. Wife loves the dishwasher. As long as she is happy all is well. Don't go on people stating dishwasher does not clean dishes as if stacked as should cleans very well.

    Worst Product Ever Manufactured!!

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Occasionally you'll see a person who starts off by saying, "I never write reviews, or this is my first time," etc. In this instance, that is totally true. I've never written a review about a product before, but this time I must, in hopes of saving others the misfortune of purchasing this horrific product. I consider myself a credible source in this subject matter since I'm a licensed plumber and have been doing it for 8 years. I purchased this product in March of 2012. It's now October 2012, and have been having 4 straight months of issues with this unit. I have learned some interesting information that would be useful to most consumers as it relates to Samsung Company Policy. Samsung told me, "the unit needs to be installed by a PROFESSIONAL INSTALLER" and being a licensed plumber, that because I installed the unit myself, I voided the warranty, and now I'm on my own. At first Samsung couldn't give me what there definition of what a "professional installer is." Finally, after the 4th or 5th person I spoke with I got an answer. Samsung has specific companies that are to be used in the INSTALLATION and service of there products. If you don't use one of there companies to have the unit INSTALLED you'll run the risk of voiding the manufacturer warranty. (With this unit, you're definitely going to need the manufacturers warranty.) Here's the problem... In Ohio, your supposed to be a licensed plumber to install this type of product. (I know it doesn't always happen though, but that's the way it's supposed to be.) The company Samsung says is their "professional installers" aren't licensed plumbers, and in fact, their company of choice told me they won't install or remove dishwashers. It's up to the consumer to have it installed. Samsung doesn't have an answer for this. All they keep telling me is that, "I voided the warranty by installing the unit myself. The, "professionals" of choice Samsung has set me up with 3 times now in 6 months has yet to solve any of the problems. It started with, I had a bad control panel, 3 bad heating elements, and a bad thermoster. It's been taking 4 hours to run a normal load, and only half the time does it dry the dishes. The unit leaves a film on the dishes, and has a horrific smell when you open the door after it's closed for a while. Now, "these same professionals of choice" are saying the drain is improperly installed, and that's why the unit is malfunctioning. They claim, if you alter the drain, it'll work normal. However, there's nothing wrong with the drain, and the CSR at the service company, openly stated, "Our techs are not licensed plumbers, and can't make the determination if the drain isn't hooked up properly, only a plumber can determine that. Does anyone else see the flaw in all this merry go round? I would never recommend this product to any of my friends, family, or customers. I also think Samsung customer service is terrible. You can't get a supervisor because they are always, "unavailable." They'll call you back in 24 - 48 hours, but if you don't answer they phone, they tell you, "there is nothing they can do." Nobody leaves a number to return a call, you get bounced back to square one of bouncing from CSR to CSR. I asked the one CSR, "Does Samsung take pride in their customer service, and quality of the products it produces?" I was told that she couldn't answer that question. What kind of company isn't allowed to answer that question? I typically read many reviews before purchasing a product, except in this case. I made a compulsive decision, and I'm paying everyday for it. With all the same negative reviews about this product, it should speak volumes for the quality of product this is.

Recently purchased Sansung stainless steel bottom freezer refrigerator, stainless microwave and love them. My service at the store, delivery and instalation all went very well. I got a great price on the dishwasher $524.99 Overall I am not unhappy with the dishwasher but here are the issues, there are alot of rack things in the lower, haven't figured out a great way to place dishes, not much space between them. I do like the double silverware holders. The hidden buttons look nice but THEY ARE VERY HARD TO HIT TO TURN THE DISHWASHER ON!!! MUST use a drying aid for dishes to be dry and I do leave them for a while after cycle is finished before taking them out.
