Great price and great picture
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased this TV for my daughter's college dorm. It was a great price for the size. It was fairly easy to set up and has a good picture. Would have liked to have a few more directions on connecting it to other devices though.

Perfect little kitchen TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This replaced an early HDTV - 19" Sony HDTV that hung on the kitchen wall. I was looking for a smart TV, but especially a small TV with a headphone jack - a rarity these days. The speakers of the TV are not loud enough to use in my kitchen (with appliances and fan going), so I have the headphone jack going out into a Cambridge Soundworks table radio. All the SMART apps and the ability to stream from my media computer = HUGE thumbs up!! Have had it several months and am impressed how often it updates the firmware for the various apps.

Not recommended for streaming
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We returned this 24" TV because of its inconsistency in its ability to stream and connect with the internet. 10% of the time we are able to connect to the internet without problems however, in 90% of our attempts, we either run into connection issues or encounter frequent re-buffering. We ran it side-by-side to our Samsung 46" & 55" LED with WIFI access via DVR & Blue ray players to test our WIFI signal and there were distinct differences in performance. We also tested it side-by-side with our 32" Samsung SMART TV and the results were the same. Multiple attempts were made at various times of the day at each test site and the 24" Samsung performed with sub-standard results when its ability to connect to the internet and effectively stream was compared with our existing set-ups. Also, the internet connection and response times for this 24" TV are much slower in comparison with our existing setups. We sent an inquiry in to Samsung's customer service about a week ago but no one got back to us.

Only thing good is picture quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I held off writing a review on this until I noticed all the posts with similar issues, but marked as "Unhelpful". As a technical person day in and out, I felt the need to help validate those other reviews. First off, the picture quality of this screen is pretty good for this class of screens. It's not the best image quality available, but in this price range and size, it is a good example of Samsung picture quality. It's also not an ugly television, though it's design is nothing extravagant or head-turning. That, with the standard connections and options aside, is pretty much the positive view of this set. Where this TV fails is with the rest of the performance. Below is a list of what those failure are: * Changing volume on the TV using the remote produces a 2-5 second delay before the screen registers the volume change and displays it on screen. Sometimes the volume audibly changes, but the display does not indicate it for several seconds. * Occasionally, changing a channel also experiences a noticeable delay, though not as prominent or often as the volume delay, which is every time. * This screen is connected wirelessly to a high-speed internal network. To provide context, our half-acre lot is completely covered by our AC router, range extenders, and bridges, and no corner of the house lacks connectivity. However, the TV constantly requires 3-7 minutes to setup and connect to the network after being turned on. * Compounding the initial connectivity issues above, the TV will disconnect randomly while using various streaming apps, like Netflix, Hulu, YouTube - It does not appear to be app/service related. * Despite an external connection speed of 40-65Mbps avg., streaming apps are constantly buffering or reloading. Netflix is notorious for stopping at 25% loading, even after having played successfully for several shows. When this happens, I also cannot exit the smart hub and have to restart the TV by unplugging it. * I have to manually restart this TV by unplugging it about 2-4 times a week, depending on usage. It's in a playroom and is used approximately 2 hours a day, total run time, so this is a significant impact based on usage time. * It turns itself back on occasionally. Every documented case of this I have logged has been when I turn the TV off with it in the smart hub. Periodically, I will finish a Netflix or Hulu show and hit the power button to turn off the set without returning to cable/OTA TV. Approximately 3-5 minutes later, the TV will turn back on. I think what's happening is the screen is shutting off, but the TV stays on, much like your computer when the monitor turns off, but the machine stays running. In this case, when it comes back on, it is back to cable/OTA TV, like a computer waking from sleep. This is a nice looking TV that has good picture quality, and the list of features is quite promising. However, the performance of it is enough to drive you mad. I have owned this since Christmas '15, and after factory resetting it, verifying firmware versions are up to date, and logging all these events, I am working to either return it or replace it through the manufacturer. If you are using this TV simply as an over-the-air television (non-Smart) then it might be suitable, but you could save money buying a non-Smart variant. Also, this is the second Samsung set I have purchased since October 2015 that has this issue. The other one was a 48" with almost the exact same issues, minus the powering back on issue. That one was returned within a week, but this one wasn't as prominently used, so it was as maddening until the past 2 months. ** If this review is marked unhelpful, I would be curious as to why and who is responsible for that. **

Great Smart TV, but...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This smart TV is a great TV for the price. My only complaint would be that when you plug in external speakers using the Audio out plug on the back of the TV and when you try and mute the sound it will not mute. I contacted Samsung and for this model this TV will not allow muting when using a external speaker. If you use the built-in speakers there isn't any muting problem.

good
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This tv worked well but i had trouble getting it to work with netflix. i called netflix and they told me to call samsung, and samsung told me to take the tv back to the store but before i did that i hooked it straight to the modem and netflix started working, i unhooked the wire from the modem and netflix started working through my wifi so i put it back in the kitchen and it has been working ever since. but it takes about five minutes for the internet to start working after you turn it on, i have two other smart tvs that are different brands and i do not have that problem and the remote dosent seem to work very well either, other than that it works fine

Great little tv
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this tv for our kitchen counter. Great picture and sound from such a small package. We now have 5 tv's in our home and all are Samsung's of different sizes so that might tell you something. I read a couple of reviews that said the stand was wobbly. Only thing necessary is to snug down the supplied screws, no washers or shorter screws are necessary.

Rattle Inside and No Netflix Connection
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to upgrade the small HDTV in our guest bedroom from a 20" Vizio LCD to a bit larger smart LED. This 24" Samsung looked like a good candidate. I purchased it on-line and picked it up from my local Best Buy. As I was attaching the base (a bit awkward since it required inserting 3 screws that were not easy to line up), and I rotated the unit back to vertical, I heard a rattle coming from the inside of the unit. Every time I rotated the unit, something loose inside was rolling back and forth. So, since this should not be happening, I went back to the store and exchanged for a new one, same model. Best Buy quickly exchanged it with no issues. I brought the replacement unit to the guest bedroom, and lo and behold, this unit also had something rattling inside. As strange as that was, I decided to install the unit hoping that whatever was loose would not interfere with the operation of this HDTV. My whole purpose for purchasing a smart HDTV was to access Netflix. So, I went to the Netflix icon and pressed the button. After a minute of hesitation, a box popped up stating that there was an error. Another box came up and stated that even though the internet connection was working, this unit could not connect up with any of the 4 Netflix servers. I have extra fast FiOS, so this was not the issue. After trying various approaches, I reset the unit, and then it would not even show the Netflix icon, no matter what I tried. After 1.5 hours, I said "enough", and boxed it up and returned it to Best Buy. They refunded my money without hesitation, so credit them for that. I took a look at the other small screen options in the store, and found that they were selling non-smart LG 24" units for $129. on sale. I bought the LG and it's working fine. I also ordered a Philips smart blu-ray player so as to have access to Netflix. One more thing- the LG base snaps onto the HDTV very easily, so this was better than Samsung. What a frustrating and unexpected negative experience with Samsung. Finally, I should mention that we have multiple smart larger HDTVs, tablets, as well as smart blu-ray players, and they are all connected to Netflix without any problems, and run Netflix content perfectly. We now have 3 LG HDTVs and 2 LG blu-ray players.

Great picture but smart apps do NOT work.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This tv has a fantastic picture, right out of the box. However the "Smart Hub" does NOT work, it frequently freezes the tv so that the remote control does not even work. Netlix is unusable, and the other apps simply give a "preparing the tv, try later" message. I emailed Samsung support and got back a standard "try this and this and this..." email, and none of the suggestions work. If you don't care about the "smart" part of the tv, then this set is great. But I can't get over how many complaints there are online about this exact issue, for Samsung televisions. I don't see how they can still be selling them. I returned this to Best Buy and got a refund.

Not a good picture
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I thought I'd try a smart TV but I found it difficult to use. It is cumbersome compared to a Chromecast. My main compliant is picture quality. You cannot get a crisp picture. I realize it is only a 720 but other brands have good picture with that. I will be returning it.

Great picture
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to replace our "old" kitchen television. It fits nicely in the corner. It has an amazing crisp picture. The sound is ok. Nothing additional speakers couldn't fix. I had no problem setting it up. Just needed to follow the instructions.
