Paid $400 for it new and will now cost $286 to replace a sensor. The repair guy stated the Samsungs are poorly designed and he replaces sensors on them weekly. I will be buying another dishwasher, as I'm not going to be replacing sensors every 3 years.

This particular unit runs non-stop and I must stop it manually by holding down the "cancel & drain" buttons. I usually stop it when I feel the dishes are clean. I do this everytime I use it. If I don't, the dishwasher remains steady on. I have read the manual over and over and did note the 110 minutes for a normal wash cycle (which is super long to begin with). I tested it again yesterdan and 2 hours later had to "cancel and drain" as usual. As you would imagine, this is a tremendous inconvenience. On a better note, it does leave the dishes clean (what else would you expect when your dishwasher is running for over an hour?) It is also pretty quiet. I love samsung products but I have been let down by this dishwasher. I recently returned to BB for a new refrigerator but wouldn't dare look at the samsung ones. Right now, I have a bitter taste in my mouth and don't want to take another chance on a samsung appliance. I hope my review helps you make a better decision. Like I said, maybe this unit came faulty from the assembly line?

So quiet at 50db, don't think you'd notice the difference to those rated in the 40s. I prefer front controls over top edge. Dishes get clean, several configuration options but wish prongs were a bit taller. Drying, without a heated dryer, is main issue. Needs rinse aid to work well; Sanitize helps but extra heat can warp plastics; water will collect in flat loaded surfaces or rims. You get the hang of setting it up eventually, but kinda frustrating till you do.
