All you can do is toggle eye-saver mode. But default is way too bright, and eye-saver is too dim for color work. Also, text is ghosted. How does this monitor earn a high rating? I've sat in front of a computer screen for hours a day for many years, no problem. I couldn't sit in front of this one—whether default or eye-saver mode—for more than 5–10 minutes, even when it was pushed farther away. Felt like I was getting hit with a ray gun. Maybe I got a bad one in that regard, but the "Not available" for brightness is a product design error, not a manufacturing error. All in all, very disappointing. I've had a smaller Samsung monitor for many years, ever since flat screens first came out, and I've loved it. But this monitor is not at all what I'd hoped for.
