I'm just on my second day with this refrigerator so its really hard to rate it other than the obvious. It's huge compared to the eighteen year old 19 cu. ft. unit we had and much quieter as expected. The freezer door had a very small ding in it (couldn't see after in the house) and they told me they would order a new door or give 10% off. Online support says the ice maker needs to be "initialized" so I will try that to see if it helps production levels. The delivery guys did a fine job getting the new one in and the old one out. They were very careful and courteous. It was on sale for $1399.00 plus got 5% off for putting it on my Best Buy Card, plus 10% for the ding making the deal almost half price! 18 month interest free financing. I was very happy with the service from Best Buy concerning the ding. I plan to follow up on this review after the fridge has had enough run time. Will probably give it 6 months.

Read all the complaints about noise. But...

I read the reviews AFTER I purchased Model RF261BEAESR. All the noise complaints scared the bejeebers out of me. Almost cancelled the order. Boy, am I glad I didn't. When I first looked at refrigerators under $2,000, this one jumped out as the best equipped, arranged, and well thought out. Plus, it's beautiful. Lots of bang for the buck. So here's the bullet on the noise: There IS NO NOISE! I hated to part with my 10 year old Kitchenaid but I'm realizing now just how much more noise it made than this Samsung. This thing is whisper quiet. No gunshots, no creaks, no nothing in the way of noise until the ice maker dumps. And even that's pretty quiet. Here's the bullet on the water dispenser leak: If you read the instructions, they will tell you how to make the dribble stop. True, it dribbles at first but you need to run about a gallon through the dispenser to get the air out of the line. Be patient and just keep doing it. No more dribble. I don't doubt that some people have had noise issues with this unit. People have posted recordings of the noise on You Tube. Given my very positive experience, I can only assume those folks were unfortunate enough to receive one or more lemons, which can happen with any appliance. The water dribble issue? Follow the instructions instead of complaining. This is a beautiful, well-appointed refrigerator. Don't be scared.

    So far so good!

We've only had the fridge one month so I don't think this is a really comprehensive review. However, so far the unit has been exactly what we expected. We are noticing some consistent condensation on the door seal and I will be contacting Samsung customer service about that (I double checked and it appears the unit is level). However, the temp seems to be consistent and we dont see much condensation INSIDE the fridge. As of right now I would recommend this unit to someone.

    So far, so good

We took a chance with a Samsung refrigerator, we've had it for a month now and so far so good. The layout of the shelves and drawers hold a variety of food and beverage containers. The door pockets are particularly deep, so the food doesn't fall out when opening the doors. The LED lights are very bright and allow you to see all of your food. Our kids like the magnetic stainless steel front facing panels, our old stainless steel was only magnetic on the sides. Probably the only thing I would change is to have the top freezer drawer stay recessed when opening the freezer section, it slides out when sliding the drawer, so you have to push it back to get to the main frozen compartment.

Have looked at this refrigerator every time I stepped foot in a Best Buy store. When it was on sale Black Friday 2016, we decided to finally buy it. PROS: It definitely keeps produce longer, including milk stored in the door. My old Amana (which came with our house), wouldn't keep produce fresh for more than a couple of days, and milk would often sour before the expiration date. It is much more roomy than old fridge, even though this Samsung is less cu.ft. LED Lighting is great. Love the water inside the fridge, never had water and ice before. I drink more water because of it. CONS: Every review stating that it makes loud pops and cracks is true. The Samsung paperwork that comes with the fridge even tells you that it is normal. We live in a 1920 home that has walls. Plaster and lathe. The noise isn't an issue for us, but I can still hear it in the living room. If you have an open concept home, this fridge will annoy you. The ice bin in the freezer takes up one whole half of the top freezer tray. I centered our old ice tray underneath the ice dispenser so we could utilize more space. I would recommend this fridge as long as you are aware of the noises before you purchase.

Easy Access and Plenty of Storage

We are very happy with the purchase of this refrigerator. The freezer on the bottom is very convenient and we have enjoyed the spaciousness and easy access of the french door design. The single missing star is due to the small size of the ice storage bin and occasional slow dispensing of ice from the door. I would give it 4.5 stars if possible as this has only been a problem a few times. The ice maker dumps frequently and is quit to catch up should you need to empty it into a cooler, though.

    Horrible Product, Horrible Customer Service

Purchased just over one year ago. The ice maker has been replaced three times, ball bearings have fallen from the freezer door glides, and the temperatures cannot be trusted in both the refrigerator and freezer (the refrigerator temp., set at 37 degrees, fluctuates between 37 and 44 degrees; the freezer temp., set at 0, fluctuates between -2 and -24 degrees). Proper food storage temperature is 41 degrees or lower. Samsung scheduled a repair for a 4th ice maker, and then cancelled the repair order. They did not notify me of the cancellation; instead, I wasted my time waiting for a repair person to arrive. Samsung informed me they cancelled the repair because there was no repair service within 50 miles. This, even though they had repaired my refrigerator 3 times previously. After more than a month of dealing with customer service, Samsung has finally agreed to give me my money back. However, they will only reimburse for the cost of the unit, not including sales tax or delivery charges. Also, they want me to cut the power cord on my unit, and have it disposed of, rather than returning it to their facility for repair and resale. That seems totally bizarre to me. Overall a very horrible product, and a very, very poor customer service experience. I will never recommend a Samsung appliance to my worst enemies, nor will I ever purchase another for myself.

Looks great, breaks fast! Samsung service horrid

We bought this in Oct-2013...fast forward to Aug 18, 2014 and our 10 MONTH OLD refrigerator completely stopped working overnight. Yes, that's right - 10 months and it died. Hundreds of dollars worth of food spoiled. Obviously the meat, fruits/veggies and dairy products cost a lot to replace, but do you have any idea how many condiments you accumulate and how much it would cost to replace them all? Ouch! We called Samsung customer service on Monday (8/19/14# and they told us it would take up to 48 hours #that's 2 whole days# just to get an appointment scheduled. We got a call on Wednesday #8/21/14# and were told someone from the Samsung approved service center would call to set up an appointment to fix it. Thursday #8/22/14# we get a call saying they ordered the parts #how they know exactly what is wrong is beyond me# and would call us back yet again to schedule the work. On Friday #8/23/14) they call saying that service center can't help us. So, now we're back to square one waiting 48 MORE HOURS just to schedule an appointment. We are beyond frustrated with the abysmal customer service from Samsung. Sure, this fridge looks nice, but beware what troubles may await you if buy one. Not to mention the money you may waste in spoiled food if yours dies in 10 months like ours did. And it only comes with a 12 month warranty, so what happens when they die after 13 months?? You're totally hosed. Lastly, the reviews saying it's noisy are true and not over stated at all. I'll update this with the final outcome whenever that happens to occur.

BEAUTIFUL BUT UNFIXABLE AFTER 4 YEARS

We purchased a new Sam Sung french door refrigerator from Best Buy on June 24, 2011. Less than 4 years later, the freezer stopped working on March 9, 2015. Then refrigerator stopped working April 21.Today is May 17, 2015. A non-functioning refrigerator has sat in my kitchen now for 64 days !!! We had 7 service calls from Sam Sung authorized repair technicians (Sears & A&E Factory). Technicians deemed it defective on April 27. I made numerous phone calls to get this situation resolved promptly. Instead we were made to suffer and wait and wait for WEEKS for Sam Sung to acknowledge it and offer a partial refund. Expect lots of disconnected phone calls to their toll free service number. I have since talked to other Sam Sung french door refrigerator owners and have heard complaints about the refrigerator and the HORRIBLE customer service. I would not even recommend any Sam Sung refrigerator to anyone!!!

    MORE THAN EXPECTED

This refrigerator, hands down, is one of the best ones I have ever owned. The amount of space is fantastic! Being able to put two one gallon bottles of milk on one shelf on the door is truly a space saver. The placement of the internal water filter in a cylinder between the crisper drawers is simply an outstanding design feature. The best feature, however, is the way the freezer handle is hinged and angles upward making the freezer simple to open. There is nothing I do not like about the refrigerator....

Works great! unfortunately if you have little ones like mine, the freezer handle that opens it up loosened and broke over time. It was difficult to try to fix once it was loose.

Good Refrigerator but it has issues

We've had the refrigerator for 8 months and we've had to replace 3 different bins and last night we found another that has cracked. They only replace these bins for 1 year and after that they will run about 80 - 90 dollars. We also hear ice fall out of the ice bin quite a bit. I like the space that it provides. It's quiet. I did not like what we had to go through to get the first one replaced. The first one we received the door would not stay open. After reading on Best Buy's warranty page it said to first call the manufacture if purchased item under a year. So we called Samsung and after them trying to convince me that that was normal, we took a closer look at the door hinges and found a crack so we called Samsung and they came out and confirmed that it was cracked and called in a new hinge. They came back out and replaced the hinge and showed us that it had either been dropped or something smashed into it because the metal was severely bent. We called Best Buy the next day and said that we paid for a new refrigerator and not one that had been damaged. They agreed to replace it and a new one was brought but not before we had to deal with their rude delivery Greek Squad that tried to convince us to keep it. They mentioned that the new one on their truck could have been dropped too or something inside of it could be faulty. I replied that if that is the case, I would happily call them back. They went on to let us know that they would now be stuck trying to sell it. That we should know that somebody has to pay for it. And I replied back that they should purchase more carefully. They also berated us for calling Samsung instead of them but I replied that it is stated on their own website that if the item was purchased under a 1 year that we should call the manufacturer first. In the end they did replace it. They were rough with the delivery and they left a lot of tape on it and I was supremely happy when they just left. I will remember this experience and keep it in mind the next time for a big purchase.

I felt compelled to write a review after reading all the awful reviews saying that this fridge was super loud and made loud popping noises. First off, I always usually buy Samsung products, they have been quality for the money and I've never had a problem. Second, all the bad reviews didn't stop me from purchasing this fridge, and they shouldn't stop you either! I'm not sure what people are talking about, maybe people are getting faulty fridges or something's wrong with their water line or whatever I don't know, but this fridge is very quiet and doesn't make any noises. Very spacious, designed nicely on the inside. I like the water dispenser on the inside, it makes for a more clean, sleek look on the front of the fridge. Overall an A+ for the money!

I'm loving this fridge though I only had for 1 month. Very smart and well thought out design which gives you the most space out of this fridge, the easily adjustable shelf allows you to fit a beer bottle, the pantry which fit a full pizza, and the water filter located in between the vegetable drawers is awesome as it waste no space, not to mention the easy access to it when it comes to changing it! The lift handle on the freezer makes opening the freezer so much easier. The energy saving feature is another plus! Down side is that it makes a small noise "dock" every now and then. On top of it, I got it at an unbeatable price $1399 during the July 4th sales!

Love the fridge. The only issue is the freezer portion below isnt very large. If you have 3 or more people in your house and like keeping frozen foods, you will have to invest in a deep freezer.

Love the design of the water dispenser on the inside of the fridge - this allows for full storage along the inside of the entire left door. The produce drawers in the refrigerator section are a bit flimsy and feel fragile, especially the large flat drawer at the bottom part of the refrigerator which often gets off alignment. The freezer is great! Huge storage capacity and the double layer drawers work great to keep things sorted. The water filter quality is phenomenal and the water from it tastes great.

Chose this model even with noise complaints. Only model with true space. Everyone with water and ice in door wasted several sq. Ft. Of shelf space. It can handle 4 gallon jugs and tall stuff without losing all space above and below. Middle drawer handles tons of cold cuts, cheese and other stuff. Large freezer and ice will drop into bottom occasionally. Knocks aside besides ice dumping, so long as it lasts and don't rust; this house will be happy. Did buy an inexpensive 5 year protection plan ($149) and only paid $1,199 during sale. Have had in house two weeks now.

    Cheaply Made

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

We have had this fridge for a little over 1 year. No problems with cooling and I like the water feature inside the fridge but there are few design flaws. The ice maker overfills the bucket and when you open the freezer and slide the drawer towards you the component that makes the ice and drops it in the bucket actually scrapes against the mountain of ice it has made and ends up pushing cubes back behind the drawer and they are impossible to get out. Also a few weeks ago while opening one of the drawers in the fridge the wheel completely broke off the cheap plastic interior construction and is now cracking the bottom shelf as gravity pulls on the unsupported drawer. I will need to replace the drawer and the bottom shelf if I don't want to see this unsightly crack.

French door fridges are expensive. This one brings the price more i n line with side by side fridges. Huge open design allows me to store enough food for a family of four that eats lots of meat and vegetables, and still have space to spare for parties. 6 door shelves fit all my condiments and gallon jugs but thats it. Extra full width drawer is on the bottom within reach of the kids. 2 standard width drawers fit most meat and vegies plus room for snacks. Power cool for fridge and power freeze for fridge are great for cooling and freezing things quickly after a trip to the grocery. Ice maker is slow to make ice. Takes several days to fill the bucket. Maybe hitting power freeze or turning down the temp would speed it up if needed. Freezer is adequate but no extra room. Water dispenser will drip a few drops into the fridge if you take the cup away to quickly. Drawer slides are the smoothest on the market. Overall excellent fridge. Delivery guys said DO NOT put anything in the fridge for a few days and don't adjust the temps from factory settings for a week or you will end up with problems later.
