RUN - 6 weeks and it's still DEAD.

I love everything about this refrigerator except IT DOES NOT WORK. 3 months after we bought it, it died. I mean died - refrigerator and freezer - DIED. Several repairs were attempted and none were successful. We are still without a refrigerator after 6 weeks of getting the runaround from Samsung and the repair company who attempted to fix it. We are on our way to buy another refrigerator, hopefully from a local dealer who will stand behind their product. In the meantime, Samsung is "processing" our request for a refund. They have been "processing" this request for a week now. If you find yourself in a similar situation with Samsung, do not hang up the phone with them until you have an email address for an agent - their direct extensions they pretend to help you with DO NOT WORK.

    DO NOT BUY!!!!!!!!

We purchased our Samsung about a month ago. So excited to get a new refrigerator. Got it home and set up. Looked great in the kitchen, but it started making popping noises and then it started snapping. We figured since it was new, it would take a while to "settle in" but the noises would stop. Wrong!!!!! The noises are getting worse as time goes on. Everytime the unit comes on, it snap, crackles, and pops. Since we don't have the ice maker or water dispenser hooked up, we thought there must be a problem. So I went on line to get other people's input and after reading about it on line, somebody posted that it is the way the unit was made. It was constructed with plastic tubing. Everytime the freon goes thru the tubing, it makes the snapping/popping noises. So you don't know if there s a problem with he unit or if something is bad with your new refrigerator. I am going to contact Best Buy to see about returning and exchanging it for hopefully a better product.

    Future problem

We have had this refrigerator for 2 years. There is an issue with a drain line. Water freezes in the drain line not allowing water through. When this happens, it pools up under the bottom drawer and eventually leaks out and spills onto the floor. If you don't notice it in time, it can ruin wood floors. I have heard that they have since fixed this problem. Make sure you get one that has been fixed.

    Ice build up

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This worked just fine for about 3 years then we started having issues. Ice builds up in the back and prevents the fridge from getting cold. You have to unplug it and let it all drain again for it to work, wouldn’t be an issue if this was a one time thing. But I have had to do this 5 times over the last year and a half. And it’s beyond infuriating each and every time. Hate this and probably won’t ever buy Samsung again.

    Terrible Service

Samsung has the absolute worst service I have ever had to deal with. Our $2400 refrigerator lasted 5 years, can't be fixed according to the factory authorized repair company and what does Samsung do... offers to schedule another service visit. Brilliant. Don't buy Samsung if you want a quality product.

No kick plate cover - bad design

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This refrigerator has NO kick plate between the bottom of the freezer and the floor. There is approximately 3 - 4 inches between the bottom of the freezer and the floor. It is a very unfinished look for a beautiful refrigerator. Also LOTS of dirt can get under the refrigerator and accumulate. The picture on BestBuy.com does not show this however the customer images do. So if there is a best buy store near you -- go look at it -- it is very ugly!

    LOUD!

This refrigerator has a very loud motor, specially when it makes the ice. Additionally somehow I dont seem to have as much space inside it as I did with my older, smaller two door one. I am dissapointed.

    2 year fridge

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Works great for 2 years then the freezer door will not open! Samsung says it is a Design problem!?!?!? How does a design problem not show up for 2 years? The freezer pulls a vacuum when it shuts and it takes 3+ minutes to equalize to where you can open the freezer. Door handle breaks off if you pull too hard trying to open it. They replaced the door and handle but it is still the same and according to Samsung "CANNOT BE FIXED!"

    New Samsung Refrigerator

I am enjoying my new refrigerator. Easy to load and organize. I love the depth of the freezer drawer and the fact that it does not have wire baskets to clean if anything drips. Shelving and drawers are all sturdy. Best part is that it is on wheels so I can move it with ease to keep the floor clean.

    Door Problems

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Had it less than 3 years and at about 2 years it started to get condensation inside. I finally determined it was the flap behind the doors that is suppose to seal it, and it wasn't closing. Tech support wanted to send a repair man. Found 2 solutions: use washers to lower the channel at the top of the opening (it worked). Or, you can buy a $6 part (hinge) and spend an hour taking the door off and putting it back on. It would be a great fridge if they fixed the door problem, and the inner cheese drawer was two pieces instead of one large one. It is a little louder than my old 1978 one--it has low groan sound. Ice maker takes a lot of space in freezer.

    Mediocre at best

Let's be clear, this thing is LOUD. I guess I've gotten used to it though, I call it 'the singing fridge'. It does look nice, stainless steel, it's big, layout is well done because they copied from real brands. That ice maker though...it's slow af but it just goes and goes and goes. It doesn't STOP making ice. I have to manually turn it off. At this point, I'm just happy that it makes ice at all, even if it would be faster to just fill ice trays by hand. The real bummer is I put the fridge in before I installed my cabinets, and now I don't think I'll ever be able to remove it from my kitchen without a sawzall. d'oh.

Have had this fridge for about 2 months and have nothing but good things to say about it. Love the filtering system, water taste great and ice cubes don't have a funny smell like my old fridge had that didn't have a filtering system. Give this product an A++
