Warning, DO NOT buy this fridge
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've owned it for 3 months, so far they've stopped by to fix it twice but Samsung says that its the design and you can't do anything about it. The fridge makes loud banging noise every 30 min. In the middle of the night you would think that somebody is breaking it to your house. Is your kitchen connected to your family room? Then forget about having a guest sleeping on the sofa. Samsung is aware of this problem but their answer is: " Refrigerators makes noise, that's natural". That is so wrong, not this type of noise as if something is breaking inside the fridge.

To Noisy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I read reviews about the refrigerator being noisy but thought couldn't be that bad; In fact, it is worse than prior reviews. Sounds like a motorcycle engine. Very loud. the only way i kept this unit is that i have it in a laundry room away from our kitchen/sitting areas. If it were the main kitchen unit it would drive someone bonkers. Also the ice bucket sides are to low. Ice spills out of bucket into bottom of freezer. does not hold the amount of ice as the previous unit. The fridge does hold proper temperatures so far. Only had unit 3 months. would not re-purchase especially if out in your open kitchen

Beautiful inside
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall this is a great refrigerator. The separate area that can be temperature controlled nice . The freezer is spacious and the quick freeze button is handy on a hot day when you get home with your groceries. I have one complaint and it's about the finish. I bought the black stainless and was shocked that it has black enable sides. Ugly!

Multiple failures and poor reliability
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Shortly after 12 month warrantee expired ice maker consistently had problems. It either didn't work, or ice clumped together in large blocks that you had to break to get apart. We lived with this since we didn't want to pay to have it fixed. Then a little over a year later the cooling system completely failed, and we woke up the day after Thanksgiving with a 62 degree fridge. Frustrating beyond belief that you spend money on something that's suppose to last and ends up failing in two years. I will be very wary of Samsung products in the future, which is too bad, because I have several HD TV's from them as well.

READ REVIEWS
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.CONS: At first I would have given 4 stars....less than 1 yr later the door bin broke off and not under warranty. Within the first 2 years all 3 bins are now broke. (Only on th left side....defect maybe?) The freezer door handle comes off periodically but is an easy fix with allen wrench. Also the glass shelving is very hard to clean. It claims leak proof but its not, so when things get spilled its hard to remove the glass to get in between to clean! PROS: It does have alot of room and I do like the way the shelfs can be rearranged.

Defective thermostat
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Lasted only 2 1/2 years. The refrigerator's thermostat stopped working. No matter what temperature you set it at, it would only go down to 57 degrees. Because it was partially cooling, it took us a while to realize the thermostat was defective when foods like melons and milk started going bad sooner than normal. We also found its capacity limited by its design - too much compartmentalization.

Annoying noises
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This refrigerator works fine and looks good. However, I cannot tolerate the noises it makes. I have had this refrigerator just under one year. Several times a day, when it runs, it makes a noise resembling crickets. I have had it looked at twice. The first time some parts were replaced, no quieter. The second time, nothing was done to correct the problem. I was told by the service man that it is the compressor and it is just how the new refrigerators are, they are louder than the old ones because of the different insulation. Reading reviews for other refrigerators, I don't believe this to be a true statement.

Loud Popping Sounds Make It Unbearable
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We had this fridge about a month before we returned it. We liked just about everything except the loud popping sound. Whenever the fridge entered into its cooling cycle, we could hear a sporadic popping sound. Sometimes it was frequent, sometimes it was infrequent. At times it was VERY loud and could be heard throughout the house. This is apparently a common problem with this fridge, as I have read others who have had made the same complaint.

On behalf of Samsung, we apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you.
Please know that this is not the experience we want you to have.
A refrigerator is never completely quiet, even when it's new. New fridges may be louder as they settle into place.
Still, noises from your ice maker or the compressor should never get so loud that it's interrupting a conversation.
This guide will review potential noises and advise you of any steps you should take when there is something you can do to prevent the noise.

Looks can be deceiving
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this model for a little over two years and while I love the looks, I can't recommend it. First issue is the water filter, they don't always seat and you may wake up to a flooded kitchen. This seems to be common because when I shared a picture of my floor on Facebook without mentioning brand, several people asked if it was Samsung. The second issue is the ice maker, the armature broke in just over two years. They now longer sell the replacement part and you will have to purchase a new ice maker. According to our repair man, this is a common issue.

Broke after 2 years
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this fridge online through best buy. Had it delivered and installed free of charge. Worked beautifully the first year! Then the ice maker would not stop making ice, causing the bin to overflow. We would just dump the ice every other day to prevent overflow. About two months ago, the freezer compartment started failing, so we had to unplug and plug the fridge in again and that seemed to work. Two days ago, fridge stopped working. Temp is supposed to be in the 30s, but won't go below 60. Sadly, Samsung's warranty will only cover the first year. Finally finished paying it off, and now it's not working!? Extremely unsatisfied. :(

Too many small problems
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had two expensive repairs for problems that should have never happened. First, the drain for condensor condensation froze over. The repairman had his own fix as the design was flawed. Second, it cost me $200 to have the paddle for the through-door ice and water replaced. It is made with two very weak plastic tabs. The part itself is $9. Samsung should have designed these tabs to last. Add on top of that, the noise the ice maker makes and I can't recommend this refrigerator to anyone, least of all a friend.

Not a bad fridge, but HORRIBLE door bins!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this fridge at best buy a 13 months ago. The fridge is great in every way except for the door bins. 12 months 9 days after purchasing this fridge the door bins started breaking. It is a flawed design. The plastic is a ticking time bomb. Within 3 weeks of the warranty's expiration, 4 of the door bins have broken. That is $370 in OEM parts or $220 in aftermarket parts. I'm sure the other 2 bins will break soon too. That's $200+ per year in parts to keep this fridge fully functional. I like the interior water dispenser and water filter. The fridge definitely has a good amount of usable space.
