    Over priced. Do not like the design with the drawers. Realized the side by side is my type of Refrigerator. The ice maker is not up to par. It failed and prior it always had unwanted ice buildup on it. LG is better choice and less expensive.

    After 15 years we finally decided to replace our old refrigerator. After walking through the best buy store we feel in love with the design of this samsung refrigerator. Ours is an older model but looks exactly like the one shown. The design was gorgeous, the compartments were fantastic and it was a samsung. We knew the brand was reliable for things like phones and TVs and we were a little skeptical buy we went with it and we are not ones to buy warranty we always thought it was a waste of money but something told me let's just get it since we weren't familiar with Samsung in the appliance arena. A couple days later after we got our beautiful fridge I was showing a friend and she looked at me like oh boy. She said she bought the same one a year prior and it was already giving her problems and she regretted not buying the warranty. After my stomach dropped for a second I felt a sense of relief cause we bought the warranty. This fridge is quite a bit of work. You need the extensive filter every other month it seems like and about 8 months ago All of a sudden it went caput. The ice machine was acting slowly and water tasted different. New filter? Maybe ok let's change it again. But over time we noticed the ice doesn't work as well as it use too, the water started tasting different and the temperature in the fridge started to change. We thought we were crazy but in the last two months it went totally downhill. No ice. Barely water but im not drinking it and the fridge isn't cold anymore. We decided to empty the whole fridge from top to bottom and disconnect it maybe a reboot if you will would help. Nope. Same performance. Finally I called our warranty and they came out 2 days later. He technician stated we needed new parts for the ice maker and the something about the fridge not knowing it's cold I cant remember. Why i cant remember because this was 3 weeks ago!!!! Parts are on back order till the 25th of this month and we are forced to be without a workin fridge. I'm pregnant with a 5 year old. Never again will we ever buy samsung for appliances. I'm sticking to phones and TVs. My recommendation. Do not buy. Stick to the old reliables.

    Not everyday user friendly. Scratches too easily. For the price tag this fridge, or anything in black stainless, just isn't worth it. You will immediately regret the purchase. We have a family of 5 and the space of the fridge is great, But wish we had gone regular stainless to withstand the scratches or at least they wouldn't be as noticeable. Also Samsung customer service is absolutely terrible. We have the entire kitchen package, stove,microwave, fridge and dishwasher, spent a fortune less than a year ago. i would replace them tomorrow if i could.

    We just had our Samsung Showcase refrigerator delivered. I can't tell you how Awesome it is. At first I was wondering if everything would fit, for Example tall items like Milk, large containers of tea Etc. Then my husband found the sliding shelf and a shelf that flips to the side. It was like decorating a room. Everything fit and looks amazing. I love the drawer for snack items. I would recommend this one to everyone! Kudos to the delivery team, they were Great!

    Terrible Ice Maker

    I own this refrigerator for over a year. Everything works well except for the ice maker. The machine can make ice okay but we're not able to take out the ice tray. It's jammed in there due to freeze build up between the ice maker and the slot. I've YouTube a couple of videos and they instruct me to use a hairdryer to melt the ice build up around the ice maker.

    Issues with Ice Maker

    I bought this unit June 2017. Thought it might be a good idea to purchase the extended warranty with the expectation of one or two service calls in 5 years. This week will mark my third service visit for issues with the Ice Maker. Every time i call, Best Buy service department admits there have been some issues but now Samsung has designed a "fix" to solve the problem. I am no longer convinced this is a problem Samsung can eliminate from my refrigerator. Apparently putting a functional ice maker inside the "refrigerated section" of the product is more complex to design than a large screen TV. I have always thought Samsung to be a "top tier" company with high quality products and designs. In the past, I would use Samsung products as the leading company by which I would compare and judge the other competitors. While i like the overall design of the refrigerator, I cannot recommend a product with an obvious flaw requiring a service call every 3-4 months.

    This is a wonderful REFRIGERATOR in terms of storage volume and temperature control. BUT ==>Do not buy this fridge without a Geek Squad repair plan.<== You will be seeing them OFTEN if you need the ice maker to work. It freezes up so much that it's a surprise if it keeps working 3 days straight. It's also difficult to access where it freezes over to take care of it (when you can) on your own. I kid you not, we know all the Geek Squad staff by name, and they mention how much time they're spending on Samsung fridges every time we see them. If you need ice for your large family, RUN AWAY NOW.

    CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST SAMSUNG

    I did extensive research on buying a refrigerator and decided to go with this Samsung. I had read the reviews, some people gave it high scores and a few gave it very low scores for the issue of the ice machine. The bad reviews were from a year or more before I bought my fridge in 2017, so my thought was, they HAD to have fixed these, why would they keep selling a fridge the breaks down and requires repairs? And what are the chances that the fridge I get delivered to my house will have the same issue... After 3 months of having our fridge, the ice machine stopped working. It had frozen over, water had leaked out and frozen almost the entire compartment. I scraped out the ice the first few times and then finally called Geek Squad to come out and look. The technician over the phone said it was a known issue and he had to order new parts. The parts were delivered to my house in 5 (If I could put this in big and bold I would), yes 5 boxes. The technician came on the scheduled day and did his work, it only took him about 30 minutes to fix, he said he had done quite a few repairs on this model of Samsung but it should be fixed now. The issue being the ice compartment was not caulked properly so it allowed air in to melt the ice and cause the compartment to freeze and jam, makes sense. 6 months after the fix, the ice maker again stopped working, the compartment had frozen in some areas and the ice got jammed at the top, so it didn't drop down. Even after myself unjamming it, ice could not be made anymore. I called Geek Squad again, they sent out the same technician, and again, he replaced almost ALL the parts in the ice maker. I asked him, "You replaced all the parts last time and caulked it," why didn't that work. The technician stated that they now have different parts, it is a known issue, and that there is a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT against Samsung for this issue on many different models. I have lost a lot of respect for the way Samsung handles issues with their equipment, I do not understand how you could know about something for years and not fix it, and instead pay to send technicians out to fix it instead, plus the cost of shipping the new parts all the time, seems like a total waste. Anyways, I do NOT recommend buying this fridge or any other fridge that has an ice compartment where the ice drops down and is narrowly making it into the bucket, just seems like it will cause problems in the future.

    Lifespan of Fridge 5 years at best.

    We've had this refrigerator since 4/17. Its is now a piece of furn8ture with zero cooling in the refrigerator and freezer. After 2 service calls from Best Buy and their 3rd party certified linear compressor technician is was determined the unit has an i trusion somewhere in the system and no longer repairable. Samung said they only cover 1 year. Please know that Samsung refrigerators only last 5 years at best, not their report 10-15 years.

    Less than month old. Quit cooling entirely. Samsung site not accepting reviews. Waiting four days for geek squad service. Spoiled refrigerator and freezer full of food in the meantime. No error code/alarm. Just started flashing. At least coverage will reimburse but still inconvenience. Prior Frigidaire lasted over 17 years, was still working when decided on Samsung with convenience features. Regret this purchase. Will see if geek squad service can salvage it..

    Finally received fridge after month long back-order. The black stainless does look very nice but the compressor is very loud, not sure by the sounds of the fridge if it will last a year. Very disappointing.

    During the first year, the fridge developed a freon leak, and leaked until the fridge stopped cooling. When I contacted Samsung, they tried to say I was out of warranty, until I provided proof of my purchase date. They then sent a technician out to repair it, which he did. A few weeks later, the ice maker froze completely and is now so frozen, I can't get the thing out of its compartment. I'd had issues with the ice maker before, but I was able to resolve it by blow drying the thing dry and reseting the fridge. I made the terrible mistake of not purchasing the Geek Squad for this one, which I was wise enough to do with the other (matching) Samsung products I got from Best Buy. I had a Samsung washer that died just out of warranty, this fridge that died just out of warranty, and am currently waiting on the phone for Geek Squad to repair my now malfunctioning Samsung dishwasher. If the appliance you're about to buy says Samsung on it, turn and run the opposite direction. But if you ignore this, please get the Geek Squad, but it's only delayed misery. Three appliances in, there's no way buying anything Samsung will be smart choice. I also noticed that this ($2,200) fridge is the only thing that hasn't made it into my Best Buy Purchase History. I'd like to think it was a coincidence, but no worries, I kept the receipt.

    Looks Fantastic, Ice Maker freezes solid

    I bought this fridge on 26 Jan 18. It looks great and fit my kitchen like a glove. That is pretty much the highlight of this fridge. Problems began within a month with the ice maker getting stuck. No big deal right? Not unless the ice maker box is frozen in place like mine was. About 15 minutes of yanking and pulling finally got the thing free. Melted some built up ice and thought it just needed a reset. Another few months goes by and the freezer locks up again. This time couldn’t break it free and called Geek Squad. They preordered 6 new parts for the freezer (red flag?) and the tech came out replaced basically everything in the ice maker. He did a great job and I hoped the problems were behind me. Nope. Went to get ice and nothing came out. Checked the box and, it is frozen again! Waited 20 minutes on hold for Geek Squad to schedule another repair or ask for a new fridge, before hanging up. I will try again tomorrow. I won’t be buying anymore Samsung major appliances.

    I actually prefer this fridge over the LCD screen model. The metal cooling and mid section pull out door are top notch. At first it looks like it can't cool tall objects. You then see it has a section to push in the middle shelf. This fridge is awesome.
