I work from home for 3 out of the 5 days of the week so I was looking for an additional monitor that I can use for work and for gaming and videos after work. This Samsung 27" LED Curved monitor seems to fit that bill fairly well. As soon as you take it out of the box, the first thing that will catch your eye is the design. The curved design allows you to be more immersed in gaming or streaming movies. It also allows you to save some space if it is already tight like my office desk. It has a fairly thin bezel so the monitor itself is fairly lightweight and can easily be moved to adjust to your needs in your set up. There isn't anything special that you need to do with the setup, just adjusting the settings to your preference. I like that it comes with 2 HDMI 1.2 ports, a 3.5mm audio port and a digital input. As I mentioned earlier, I work from home part of the time, so one of the reasons why I got this monitor is because of the advanced eye comfort technology which is supposed to reduce eye strain. I have been using this monitor for 2 weeks and I can notice less eye fatigue. Once I turned it on and made my adjustments, the first thing I noticed was the picture quality and the brightness, which are two things that Samsung monitors are traditionally known for. It is a full HD screen and the refresh rate will have to be adjusted as I noticed that the default was 60 hz. Once I am done with work I can continue to enjoy this monitor to either stream videos or game a little. This monitor does come with FreeSync which makes it compatible with both NVDIA and AMD graphic cards. I am able to enjoy videos with good picture quality. If you are a serious gamer, this definitely wouldn't be your main gaming monitor, but it will suffice if you are into casual gaming, which is what I do. Overall, I really like this Samsung 27" LED curved monitor because of its versatility. It can serve many purposes at a decent quality.

This monitor is my second curved one! Can't go back to a flat- and working from home with a dual monitor setup at times, the display port is super. The curve is sleek and looks awesome plus the built-in speakers are perfect.

Curved monitors are all the rage right now and if you don't have one, then you want one. This monitor is the perfect model if you are wanting to make the jump from a "flat" monitor to a curved one. I found the size at 27" to be perfect for my setup on my desk. I love the look of those bigger curved monitors, but those really aren't practical for me for my desk size or my budget. This monitor has been great so far and its about what I expected at around at this price. is the refresh rate the highest? No, but its also a budget friendly monitor and I didn't have any issues while gaming. Are the speakers the best in class? No, but they worked perfectly fine for me and I still haven't felt the need to hook up any external speakers. I think that say a lot... While this monitor is truly meant for gaming, I decided to put it through its paces as a secondary monitor for my office. I have to say it worked really well and exceeded my expectations. The 27" size is really nice for a secondary screen and the curve adds to both the aesthetic, and the functionality of this screen. No real complaints at al, I would recommend this to anyone wasting to make the jump to a curved monitor.

What frustrates me about this product is that beyond a well designed slim bezel and subtle curve of the monitor, the experience of using this monitor is at best mediocre; more often than not frustrating. If all you have to do is power it on and off and only want Full HD resolution (1920x1080 at 75hz ) it might be worth a second look as the display quality is good but the display quality gets lost surrounded by the mediocre decisions of the rest of the product. A few examples: A monitor stand with no swivel and no height adjustment A monitor stand with a large round base that requires far more desk space than necessary No physical buttons for controlling the volume of the built-in speakers No software method of controlling the volume of the built-in speakers when connected via HDMI An On-screen menu display that buries the volume control 9 button presses deep. 9 BUTTON PRESSES DEEP. COME ON MAN. SERIOUSLY!! 9 buttons to turn down the volume!!!! Why are speakers even included if they are going to be this difficult to adjust the volume? But hey, there’s an Apple-style power brick (aka a terribly huge square) that requires connecting to an extension cable to power the display. A single button under the center of the display for all on-screen menu options

The first time saw a curved screen was on a gigantic tv at the store. I wasn't very impressed as it seemed like more of a gimmick than anything else. But, with a monitor, which is used up close, I will admit that it does have its benefits. The field of view definitely envelops you more into whatever you've got going on the monitor itself. It also feels a bit easier on my eyes and I don't feel like I have to strain them while using this for hours at a time. The colors are just okay. I don't really feel like they pop out or anything. They seem kind of washed out sometimes, especially when compared to my other monitor of the same size. Also, the picture, overall, is not very sharp and that, for me, is a bit of an issue. For gaming, sharpness is a big factor. The resolution being 1080P isn't a deal breaker, but i have used monitors with much better clarity at 1080P that were cheaper. The refresh rate of 75hz is a bit of a joke in my opinion. I don't notice any real difference when compared to my 60hz monitor. This is very disappointing to me, especially from a company as big as Samsung. The speakers aren't anything special. They are convenient if you don't want to clutter your desktop, but don't produce the kind of sound that I enjoy for my gaming. Overall, it's an okay monitor for everyday tasks but I do not recommend it for gaming nor do I feel it is worth anything near it's price. If it can be bought on sale for under the $200 mark, I'd say go for it, but if not, there are much better monitors out there for around the same price.
