GREAT FOR MY TOP-RATED MULTI-BRAND KITCHEN
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I carefully researched Consumer Reports evaluations AND consumer reports at the big-box stores to make sure I was ending up with appliances that EVERYONE agreed were outstanding. (It's amazing how many appliances get great ratings from CR but not from consumers and vice verse.) Also, I share my life with someone who eats completely differently than I do, and the design of this 4-door allows us each a half of the refrigerator and a half of the freezer, so we can each be much more organized and not need to hassle with one another's foods to find our own. You do have to be careful that both doors can open sufficiently to see what's in the fridge and also to slide open the storage drawers in the freezer. In our case, that means the front of the refrigerator can set no further back than 1.5" from the edge of the front edge of the counters on either side. Anyhow, because this refrigerator has no handles, it goes well with the other three kitchen appliances in our top-rated multi-brand ensemble. (See end of review for SKUs of other appliances.) The fridge's stainless steel does pick up fingerprints etc, but it wipes down very easily without streaks with my ss cleaner. The water dispenser aims toward the door, so no problem with splashing. The interior is bright and the shelves etc. high quality. We did have to return the first refrigerator that was delivered because the electrical system was not functioning properly, but Best Buy customer service was great about taking care of that and some other installation issues asap. It takes a day or so for the icemaker to start functioning properly, but if yours doesn't work, exchange the refrigerator for another. It's worth the trouble, and Best Buy customer service will even pay you some $$ to cover extra tips, etc. for the second delivery, if you have to go through all that inconvenience, so be sure to ask what they can do for you. The other appliances in this top-rated ensemble all have curved handles and stainless steel finishes that blend with one another and they all work great! Overall good design, but cheap pieces!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this fridge about 5 years ago. I really like the design and flex bottom right portion, but its falling apart and the ice maker hardly works. All of the plastics used for door shelfs and ice maker are garbage. I have had to gorilla glue and reinforce them all. Huge cracks and holes in most of them. There isnt even with any abuse, just light use. I also soend more rome trying to fix the ice maker, than i actually do using the thing. Even when i shut it off, it still frosts up. I like ice in my water so it is a big deal for me!

Great refrigerator!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You won't regret this purchase! I was originally looking at another fridge with the drawer flex zone and saw this one in the store. The bottom right is a flex zone, and it holds so much more than a skinny drawer. I love the shelving and drawers within the bottom portion, organization is so easy and things don't get lost in the abyss of piles of items ontop of one another. The fridge is very quiet and cools very well. There is a ton of room and the fold away shelves for taller items is very handy and easy to use.

Bad BAD ice maker
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the four door and optional bottom fridge/freezer and all its space. However, the ice maker.....it doesn't work and Samsung doesn't have a real fix for it. I bought my fridge in 2016 and have had the ice maker "fixed" twice and it is now broken again. Now Samsung wants me to pay for the "fix". I am now buying an ice-maker instead. Basically the ice maker inside the left top door defrosts, gets all solid with ice, can't pull out and stops making ice. The only other not so positive is the ice water dispenser. Just a bit awkward. In short Samsung need to truly "fix" their ice maker issue and help all the current and older owners repair them. They do have a bulletin out for it but wont claim a real problem.

Nice looking and functional but unreliable
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought the fridge in October 2016. We loved it. But it broke down by March 2017. Pros: -great looking -excellent functions -4 doors makes it very customiz-able! Cons: -not a big issue but for completeness. Ice maker dispenses ice very slowly -3 parts failed! poor reliability (or did we get a lemon?) -Samsung support sucks! Through this time, we survived on a cooler filled with ice and shopping daily for groceries (thinking it will be over soon...my fault for not get a second fridge!) Summary below: 1) 5 calls over one week to get a response and then to be told that a service company will contact us. 2) after a few days and no calls, we called them back and asked for service company numbers so we can call them. On calling the service company we found out that they did not service Samsung anymore. 3) We got more numbers for a few more service companies and got the run around (with many companies not servicing anymore) until one agreed to come out. This is something Samsung should be doing for us! 4) Week 3: service guy came and said 3 parts failed including the compressor. Said parts will take 3 weeks to arrive and then additional time for him to come out and fix. 5) called Samsung to protest and they said nothing we can do. 6) called Samsung office of the president and they made some promised about expediting it or giving us a refund or replacement. 7) Week 4: we called again because nothing was progressing and then they said they are already processing the refund!! Just bad communication. So when will we get the money? "we have to process it first..." OK how long? "...4 days since our returns system is broken but we will call you" Can we a buy a new fridge in the mean time? "Best wait..." 8) Week 5: called back in 4 days since there was no communication and they had no idea the refund was happening...so we went through the drama again and then they assured us it will go through this time. 9) 6 weeks later, we still don't have a check but had agreement that we can buy a fridge. Understand that all fridges have a problem or two but it is the support that matters. Samsung did not leave us with a good experience.

A wee bit dissapointed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's been a while since I was so hyped about an appliance, but this Samsung was very much anticipated. Maybe the super fast 2 day delivery from BB added to all that! Needless to say by the time I arrived home in the morning, it was all set up, everything moved over from the not so old LG. Sleek looking, sexy as my son called it....BUT...the space was less than what I had expected. Unlike the LG with the icemaker in the door, the Samsung ice maker takes up a bulk of top shelf space that I need. The ice dispenser is very slooowwww. Big turn off as I have never had to wait on line for ice!! The water dispenser however is super quick, but that does not make up for the sluggish ice dispenser. Door shelves also a turn off as on the left side, that darned ice maker design reduces capacity greatly. The right side is definitely a step in the wrong direction from what I had. The bottom can only hold a one gallon bottle of milk and has very little room for anything else. The middle and top shelves seriously undersized The 4-door Flex option was really the most anticipated feature of this unit, replacing the bulky bottom drawer of the LG. Here was some joy finally. I am pleased with the ability to freeze or slush my bottled water on the side shelves. Organizing, finding and retrieving items made easy. Nothing negative here. All in all this fridge is good. I find the ice maker a major flaw, both in design that reduces space unnecessarily, and in function with it's very SLOW dispensing. It will be returned as the Flex doors are not enough to live with the rest of the faults

Happy camper
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm a very happy camper. This is a really wonderful refrigerator. I spent several days reading reviews and articles online and finally settled with this one, and I really love it. The Best Buy delivery guys were great. They did an amazing job getting the refrigerator through an extremely tight space and were very friendly and nice. So far the refrigerator works great. I love the two separate freezer sections and that you can use of them as a refrigerator! I also love how the freezer has drawers so that you can organize and find things easily. This is the best refrigerator I've ever had, and I highly recommend it for anyone. :)

Horrible Refrigerator
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this in 2020. Five years ago. The ice machine freezes up every couple months. Since we bought this refrigerator, it has done this. Get out blow dryer and defrost the ice machine. Now, after 5 years, the entire refrigerator has stopped refrigerating. There's power, no cold. The manufacturer warranty covers the condenser for 5 years and inverter for 10 years. However, I have to pay for the labor on the repair. Samsung doesn't have anyone in our area to do the repair. We have to pay for the repair up front and submit a work order to Samsung for the repair if its either of the above items, which it can't be anything else. I am so extremely disappointed after 5 years. It is not worth the trouble to buy something this expensive for it to break down fully within 5 years.

So far so good
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had this refrigerator delivered just over a week ago. Works very well. Love the freezer space having doors with individual drawers instead of a big drawer to bury items in. Much easier to find things in. Went from a side by side which was so hard to find things in both the refrigerator and freezer. Water dispenser is a very good speed and have had no problems with ice. Upon delivery, there were a couple small scratches on one of the doors that the mover, Doug, actually pointed out before I even spotted them. He immediately ordered a door exchange so as not to have to move the refrigerator again. Got the new door the following week. He and his partner were very conscientious about the move. Took good care of our doorways, etc along the way. It's very heavy weighing in at over 400lbs! Love the amount of room and we have had no trouble filling it up. It's a couple inches taller than a standard refrigerator, but we had no trouble fitting it under our cupboards.

LOVE THE 4 DOORS BUT ICE MAKER IS A NIGHTMARE
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had this refrigerator nearly 4 years now. The ice maker caused us issues almost immediately. It freezes up and has to be chiseled to unfreeze it and get it working. A solution we found was to only run ice maker to make all the needed ice and turn off ice maker to prevent it from freezing up. It’s a huge pain but one I’ve dealt with simply because I love the aesthetic of this unit. I can’t imagine my life without a 4 door refrigerator. It just makes sense all areas are doors. I worry about the day this finally breaks down and a replacement is needed. Hopefully Samsung has improved the ice makers by then. I would recommend this simply for the 4 doors but if you don’t want to work for your ice then don’t set yourself up for a total failure with the Samsung ice makers.

Just above junk!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The best thing about this fridge is the flex zone. Other then that there's nothing special. Now the major issue with this refridgerator is the ice makers. It is horribly designed and flawed. It frequently freezes over and is unusable. You have to spend hours trying to thaw it out. There is a class action suit against Samsung for this very issue. Samsung knows about it but will not recall and fix it. To fix the issue they want to charge you $300 for the parts and another $150 to install. I would NOT recommend this refrigerator.

Buyer Be Aware
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Please be aware of a problem that most Samsung products suffer from. Our three door refrigerator, that is only five years old, had one of its door handles break while trying to open it. The part, which holds the pin that holds the door handle, broke. The plastic part IS NOT REPLACEABLE. That means that if this part breaks, you have to buy another complete door. There is nothing wrong with the door other than this weak plastic part. The plastic part that failed probably costs a buck or two to make and maybe twelve dollars in a store, if it was sold, now costed us $300. It seems that during design and assembly, SAMSUNG has placed a PLASTIC part that is not repairable and the customer is responsible for their mistake. Custom services' response was that there was nothing they could do because my refrigerator was not under warranty. Since my fridge is five years old, a warranty wouldn't have helped anyway. Your concern should be that SAMSUNG's products have these parts in them. If your spending your hard earned money on SAMSUNG products, your depending on the SAMSUNG name and reputation to help its customers out when one of their products has failed. This is a design flaw by SAMSUNG. SAMSUNG should take responsibility for their mistakes.
