The door hinges are on the outside and therefore the fridge has to be pulled away from the wall to fit in the built in cubby hole.

Sadly the ice maker is garbage and makes the fridge a bad purchase. Everything worked great for about 11 months, then suddenly we got wet/ not frozen ice. The entire unit is blocked up with frost and one chunk of ice. Some research shows this is an issue for almost everyone with this fridge.

Best Buy's has delivered two damaged units. Still waiting to be contacted about delivering number 3. Very disappointing!

Our old refrigerator was close to 16 years old when we decided to replace it. My wife and I were unaware how much the design and technology had improved on refrigerators over the years. We are not fans of stainless steel kitchen appliances so we got the model in white. This model does have a pretty expensive price tag but we bought it over the Memorial day promotion and got it with a 35% off sale. When Best Buy delivered our new refrigerator it only took two hours for the refrigerator to cool down to 36 degrees and the freezer to -5 degrees. Within 6 hours we had ice. We have had the new fridge for about 3 weeks now and I can say we are quite pleased. The best features of the refrigerator are: The Middle Drawer - this is a great feature with multiple temperature settings. We keep it at the cold drinks setting of 33 degrees. The drawer has become our snack/meat drawer. We keep drinks, yogurt, dairy items, snacks and fresh meat. At 33 degrees the meat is good for about 6 to 7 days. The Ice Maker - At times you can hear the ice drop and it is louder when there is no ice already there. The ice maker is very fast and it seems to make ice every 45 to 55 minutes. I did buy an ice bin to keep in the freezer with extra ice but I am finding my wife and I can not use ice fast enough to deplete the ice maker. The ice maker can hold up to 4.2 pounds of ice. This is about 9, filled to the top, glasses of ice. Ice and Water Dispenser - the compartment for the water dispenser is tall enough to fit an ice tea pitcher. The ice dispenser will put out either regular cubes or crushed ice. You do have to hold the glass up close to the opening when the crushed ice dispenses or it will spill out. Shortly after using the crushed ice feature when you try and get cubed ice some crushed ice will come out. Other reviews listed this as a negative, so far every refrigerator I have used with a crushed ice feature will also do this. Shelving - the shelving is high quality with stainless steel trim. It is well designed and allows you to fold shelves back to accommodate tall items. The shelves in the door can easily accommodate gallon jugs and 2 liters. The produce drawers allow you to control the humidity levels and our veggies and fruits do seem to be keeping their freshness longer. Noise level - Compared to our old refrigerator the Samsung is very quiet. You can hear a slight hum when it cools down but it cools down very quickly and the hum shuts off. LED display - all of the controls are easy to use and function great Interior lighting - the LED lighting is impressive, especially if you open the refrigerator in the dark. Very bright lighting with a slight blue glow. Freezer - I read from Samsung's website that the refrigerator and freezer do not share the same circulated air. There are two evaporators, two motors, etc. Because the freezer is continually circulating it's own air it is able to reach -12. When you open the freezer drawer you do not feel the cold air escape. Our old freezer was not able to get that cold. I would normally throw things out after 3 months. I would be comfortable keeping food in this refrigerator's freezer for 6 months.

Was broke when I got it. It took best buy 3 weeks to fix ice maker.

the dishwasher is not very easy to load. the gaps are too tight and it doesn't fully dry dishes.

Beautiful refrigerator however the milk temperature in the door would not reach the set temperature.

Nice fridge. One shortfall is that storage on ice maker side is limited. Some wasted space.

To soon after purchase to offer a rating, You should wait 6 months to a year!

The flap on the door that closes or opens to dispense ice started to open and close every three seconds. The refrigerator is only 2 months old. Best Buy has been trying to fix it for three weeks but the delays in getting appointments has extended the repair time.

This fridge is the WORST. I would not recommend it. The ice machine worked off and on, always needing to thaw out. Now Ford years later we have no ice maker.

Good fridge but the freezer handle comes off easily.

Had to call service out many times! Ice maker quit working. Refrigerator quit cooling.....They finally deemed it a lemon and we replaced it with a Whirlpool. Love my Whirlpool refrigerator

I was warned by folks not to buy Samsung appliances, but unfortunately after we bought this refrigerator. We have had the freezer unit and ice maker replaced three times and it has broken again. The service visits are approaching the value of the entire unit. We are working with Samsung to fix or replace it. Best Buy says they cant do anything even though we bought an extended warranty, (just expired) and the breakdowns occurred during the five year Best Buy warranty period.

4 years into it and it seems I have to defrost the ice maker almost weekly. Very frustrating but apparently that’s what these models do. I wish I knew in advance.

We purchased this refrigerator because we are a family of 5 and needed more space than our old side-by-side provided. We selected the Samsung based on its good reviews, looks, and capacity. The good - it looks great and seems to have a ton of space. The exterior pull-out drawer seems very convenient. It keeps food cold. I can't say much else because I haven't had it very long. The bad - it's loud. So loud that it vibrates our wood floors. You can see the liquids vibrating inside of the refrigerator. We've only had it 24 hours and I called Best Buy to report the very loud, obnoxious buzzing/grating sound. Because I didn't purchase the Best Buy warranty, they would not help me unless I paid for assistance. It's only been in my home for 1 day. I contacted Samsung, they suggested that the refrigerator needed to be leveled - something the Best Buy installers did not do when they delivered it. I read the owner's manual and leveled the refrigerator front to back and side to side, but the noise persists and my floors are buzzing. You can hear the refrigerator throughout the main floor of my home and into the basement. Buyers beware!! It looks snazzy, but you will get no help if something is wrong - even after only having it 24 hours. I'm calling Samsung again and hoping for another suggestion for how I can fix my brand new refrigerator and thinking of purchasing the Best Buy insurance because it looks like I'm going to need to repair my $2k refrigerator during the first week of ownership.

After dispensing ice water leaks so I have to place a towel to avoid water on my floor. I had a geek squad personel come assess the problem and there is nothing they can do about it.

The icemaker stopped working 5 days after the fridge was delivered. This was the third fridge delivered in three months from best buy.

Ice maker, electronic panel malfunctioning. Very expensive repair involved.
