    I have owned a french door Samsung fridge with ice/water in the door for only a couple of years now and the ice maker started freezing up after about a year and a half. It's a HUGE and known problem with Samsung ice makers-just check out youtube or google it. There is actually a class action law suit going on about it. Samsung will not recall/fix them outside of the one year warranty which is when the issue starts. Buyers beware and go with a more trusted brand.

    I will start by saying I read most of the reviews on Best Buy and on other sites, like Amazon and Consumer Reports before buying this refrigerator. I saw some of the negative reviews that spoke about bad Samsung customer service and thought "well, maybe it's just one or two people" or "what are the chances that I would get a bad fridge". Well, I am remodeling my kitchen and it took a while to get the fridge installed. It has not a bit of damage on it and we were very careful installing it. Well, my luck, the fridge doesn't work. I have a five year best buy warranty. I called Best Buy and it's in the first year, so they cannot do ANYTHING. I had to call Samsung. Well.....PLEASE NEVER BUY A SAMSUNG APPLIANCE. We have been through h3ll trying to get a brand new fridge fixed. There have been multiple service calls, with horrid service techs that had no clue what they were doing. They were never able to figure out why our fridge didn't cool anything. They wasted multiple days where we had to stay home from work, which cost me over $500 out of pocket. Samsung has not been helpful in the least. I have had to make approximately 40 calls to them. They have NEVER called me back when they said they would ("we will call within 24-48 hours", but then I'm still calling a week later....). I'm a month into dealing with Samsung customer service now, the fridge is STILL not fixed and I cannot afford to spend yet another $2400 on another new fridge. Best Buy sales manager has been great in her attempts to help, but there really isn't anything she can do since Best Buy doesn't cover the first year of warranty. I'm literally on hold with Samsung yet again (it's a daily call with them now and they are still screwing up. This is the third time they said to wait for a call back for "advanced support" and they are supposedly authorizing a replacement, yet they haven't done so. They keep coming up with excuses for why they haven't. I will personally never purchase another Samsung appliance again. They are worse than Comcast (and if you have Comcast, you know what I mean). In all honesty, no one should ever have to deal with them, as it is a very unpleasant experience. Do yourself a favor and do NOT buy from them.

    We have owned our fridge for one month. In that time, our water filter has frozen on us twice. Once the water filter doesn't work, the refrigerator no longer dispenses water and stops making ice. Even when set at 42 degrees F.(which is above average as far as refrigerator temperatures go), the water filter freezes. Samsung has been unwilling to resolve our problem, resulting in me disassembling and thawing our water filter about every other week. Since the unit accumulates a layer of ice, you must take apart the whole assembly to remove it. Samsung will send you a D.I.Y. guide on typical problems if you put in a service request, and claims if they have to come out and one of these solutions fixes the problem that they will charge you for the service. If you do not enjoy learning the mechanics of your refrigerator on a regular basis, I would not recommend buying this model (or a Samsung, in general).

    Don't normally leave reviews but this fridge got me fired up as the ice maker stopped working after 1.75 years and they they only give a 1 yr warranty on this part. I would think an item going for 2-3k would have a longer warranty then 1 year on unsealed parts. Will be looking for a new brand for my next appliance. Having said that, I do like the actual fridge itself.

    Ice maker leaked and left puddles inside my frig and kept freezing up and producing no ice. Had the motor replaced 3 times and problem kept happening, I believe somehow air was getting in the refrigerator. Best buy is finally replacing the refrigerator but we did learn that this model has had ALOT of complaints and problems primarily due to icemaker

    We remodeled our kitchen in 2011. Replaced all our our appliances with Samsung., except for wall oven, which they do not make. We had to replace our dishwasher in 2015, replaced the door ice water dispenser in 2015, now the flex drawer temp gauges are not working, yes the fridge is lighted great, the freezer is great, but I will never buy a Samsung again. The dealer informed us when we had to get a news dishwasher that the Samsung is not good with water needed items..... We purchased our new appliances in Dec, 2010 5 years????????

    My Samsung French Door refrigerator is junk. (Samsung ticket numbers 2135030643 and 5113108447.) Water collects below the crisper drawers and usually freezes. This is a good thing, because when it doesn’t freeze it leaks out onto the floor. This week the water also collected at the base of the freezer. The ice got so thick the freezer door wouldn’t close, causing our frozen food to spoil. Granted my Samsung French Door refrigerator is a couple of years old, model RF197-ACCRS, but is it worth taking the chance?

    I love the little drawer! Very convenient for cold cuts! The main fridge is huge! This is my first time with the freezer drawer and wasn't sure if I would like it, but I do! Much easier to see what you have!

    Bought this fridge in 2016. Very loud. Ice maker never made nice ice - and then the ice maker completely broke a few years ago. I would not recommend a Samsung fridge

    The frig is large and works great! The drawer is wonderful for my children to grab their chilled snacks without opening entire fridge. My biggest complaint is water dispenser leaks. Also, ice maker freezes up and then needs to be thawed out to use again. We paid $350 to have the ice maker replaced, but still have the same problem. I would not recommend this frig as it’s fristrating to pay so much money, and then have continuing issues with the ice maker and dropping water. We called Samsung and they were no help!

    Two years after buying the fridge and the icemaker literally freezes up. Samsung has a service bulletin released to address this issue, but won't call it a recall so they don't need to pay for repair outside of warranty period. I won't buy another Samsung refrigerator.

    Bought in 2019. Ice maker has been continuously freezing over for the last year. Bottom tray does not come up on shelves to properly clean.

    The fridge is great but the ice maker is horrific and I’ll never buy Samsung again. The ice maker worked well for maybe 6 months and has been a disaster for the last few years.

    I love this fridge, I really do. But if you actually want an ice maker that runs for more than 1 year, DO NOT BUY THIS ONE! It is a known issue with the design of this fridge. Every repair tech that comes out tells me the same thing. The design of the ice maker CANNOT BE FIXED! They try their hardest, they've re-sealed things, even replaced the entire thing with an "updated" version. But even then, the repair guy says "see you a year". Like clockwork. I have my 3rd repair scheduled for next week. I think it's time to cut my losses. Do yourself a favor and go with something else.

    Starting to show signs of wear - only 2 years old.

    We've owned this for 2 years. Within the last few weeks, ice has been jamming in the exit chute from the tray. Upon examining - the tray is now cracked at the bottom. I'm not sure if that is a cause of the jamming - or a result of it. Basically - now - ice does not always freely flow out - and is constantly begin crushed - often to slush.. A side effect of this is that often this slush sits in the chute - and over time melts and drips - filling the drip tray Second - the drip tray itself is not designed in the best way - as there is no "lip" in the area where it sits - so once it fills (which does not take long) - water started to dribble down the front of the unit. Third - most recently - the FlexZone drawer has just started not working properly. We noticed food towards the back of it was frozen. The temperature indicator was blank (although apparently it does turn on and off quite often it seems) - and pressing the button to change the drawer temp does nothing - whether the current temperature is lit or not. Unfortunately - it is currently set for its coldest setting.... I have contacted Samsung support - but so far I have basically only received a canned email response on how to call for service While this unit is out of its' 1 year warranty, problems like these should not appear on a unit so expensive after only 2 years.
