    We bought this refrigerator 6 years ago almost exactly. I am coming back to report that it completely broke down on us. The ice maker stopped working, the freezer builds up ice along the floor of the freezer so that you can not even shut the door and you have to manually pick it out and the refrigerator no longer cools. Samsung wants $1,000 to repair. No thank you. Now, after only 6 years of use I am shopping for a new refrigerator - and it will not be a Samsung.

    Good space and works good. After 1 1/2 yrs I am starting to have issues with ice maker. It leaks, and ice maker freezes not letting the ice continue building up

    This Samsung 4-door French door refrigerator is a very poor product. I had to have the ice maker replaced 5 times. After the last time, it was supposed to be replaced via lemon law. Best Buy backed out and refused to replace or fix the ice maker. After doing some research it is a known issue with all Samsung refrigeators. Do buy!

    This device has a serious design flaw. After 10 months it would make fan noises. Ice builds up and slowly kills the fan. You have to empty and fully defrost every few months or the fan will die and it is much harder to fix. Samsung warranty does not cover and they want to charge you $500 - $1000 to fix. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PRODUCT. Forums on Samsung's website are loaded with the same complaints and everyone gets the same response from Samsung. IMO, you should avoid all Samsung products.

    Samsung should not make appliances

    I replaced all of my kitchen appliances after 15 + years. I read reviews and did lots of homework before deciding on Samsung and I wish I had chosen a different brand. I have the stainless steel version of 4 door French door fridge, convection oven and microwave as well as dishwasher and all have issues. The handle for the freezer is held on by 4 of the smallest screws I've ever seen and has broken off at this point. The dishwasher looks good from the outside but the inside pieces are flimsy and the adjustable top rack is broken making it a struggle to run the dishwasher until it is manually aligned so it can run. Since day 1 the microwave constantly gets an error code and has to be unplugged to reset it as well as the buttons don't always respond. After 6 months one of the buttons on the stove has broken. I called about the microwave early on an was told that it was because it is a microwave that goes above the stove that is causing the error code to come up. I'm not really sure where else a microwave with a fan and light on the bottom are suppose to be placed. A reminder that I'm not rough on my appliances since none of the ones I replaced was broken due to use. As a matter of fact I have a second microwave that sits on the countertop that I've had for 27 years that is not broken and still works (Thank God). It is multiple design flaws with these products that are the issue. After having them for 3 years, I'm thinking about trashing them all and starting over with a more reliable set of appliances

    LOUSY ice maker design.

    I've had the larger model of this for 2 1/2 years. While Best Buy's service plans no longer replace the unit for ice maker issues, Geeks Squad gave up today and agreed to give me my money back. I've had BOTH icemakers replaced TWICE, some parts more than that. The lower unit freezes up, as does the water line to it. The upper unit is very badly designed, doesn't stay cool enough, so the cubes are always malformed, and it leaks water into the door tray under the ice chute and into the ice chute itself, so that the first thing that comes out is a bolus of water. No more Samsung for me.

    Pros: Looks nice on the outside. The 2nd storage drawer below the fridge - it's large enough to hold cheeses and lunch meats Cons: Lacks space, the in-door storage space is severely inadequate. The water dispenser is room temp - doesn't dispense cold water as one would think. The ice dispenser is poor. Spits tiny little balls of ice everywhere, and the fridge just doesn't seem cold enough even though it has been set to 34 degrees. I would not recommend this counter depth fridge at all. A huge disappointment really.

    Do NOT buy! Ice Maker continually breaks!!

    We bought this refrigerator 2 years ago and have now had 4 warranty requests with the extended warranty. Best Buy refused to replace this refrigerator even though in the warranty paperwork, it says that they will replace it after 3 warranty requests. However, the say the ice maker does not count even though they can't seem to fix it. Have replaced it completely twice and repaired it once. This last request Best Buy will not repair or replace because we did not renew our extended warranty. We told them 'why would we pay more for a product that is obviously a lemon'??? They should repair because it has not ever been fixed correctly. NEVER buying from Best Buy again. Only Costco from now on since they actually back their products.

    We've had this appliance for just over three years. We are a family of three so it gets low to moderate use. Since we bought it, we have had to replace three door shelves, replace crisper drawer track and now have to replace the water/ice dispenser because it only dispenses water. It is very cheaply made with lots of flimsy plastic parts. Looks nice and functionality of french draws, double freezer is nice but that are the only 'pros' in my mind.

    I would never buy a Samsung again

    We bought this model 2 years ago when we moved into our new house. It ran fine, no problems, until about a month ago when we noticed our ice cream and popsicles were slushy. Gradually the freezer stopped cooling, then a week later the deli drawer. We called a repairman who works on Samsungs and he came out and worked on it and said it was in the sealed system or compressor which was still under warranty. He also said that he would never recommend a Samsung because they have too many issues. We called Samsung to get a factory authorized repairman out. It was a four day wait and during this time the refrigerator portion quit working. Luckily we have a fridge in the garage for overflow (we have a large family). It was a compressor and dryer contamination issue. On a two year old refrigerator. Definitely NOT a happy Samsung customer.

    The compressor & evaporator broke in little over 5 years. Plus, the customer service/warranty does not cover labor to replace compressor. Horrible product and even worse customer service.

    Keeps breaking

    Keeps food at the perfect temperature. Food has never lasted so long. However, Even with an additional 3 year warranty this fridge keeps breaking, doors come unhinged, handles fall off, now that 3 year warranty has expired the ice maker broke. Will never buy another Samsung appliance.

    Noisy, humming...very much not what I thought

    Hugely disappointed. My GE Profile of 18 years was quitter. I have turned off the ice maker and it has not helped. Every 15 minutes there is a soft, but very annoying revving sound that continues for a few minutes. Sporadic, but hugely noticeable. My family all came over for dinner last night and agreed. Samsung will charge me if they come out and find it is in normal range.

    I shouldn't even give any Samsung refrigerator a star at all. We paid a lot of our hard earned money on a Samsung fridge and with it only being 4 years old we have had ice maker replaced and then it went again with the guy from Best Buy recommending we just turn the ice make off since they are all defective???? Hello......we want our money back!!! You can take this refrigerator back. We have had to invest in a counter top ice maker to have ice cubes. The old refrigerator you took away made ice cubes.

    It's unbelievable that Samsung can sell refrigerators that have ice makers that leak when they know it's a problem and sell retrofit kits to fix the problem.

    Horrible fridge!

    The control panel freezes up, ice builds up and fridge stops cooling, the panel has been replaced twice. The compressor has also been replaced. Nothing appears to solve the problem. Luckily, I have the Best Buy warranty so the repairs are covered, but we are now on our 3rd repair for the same problem. I just want a working fridge. All my food spoils because once you notice the drinks are not that cold it is down hill from there. I purchased this fridge in June 2016 for a kitchen remodel. It work for 6 months.. Buyer beware, read reviews and consumer complaints.

    Design Flaws being ignored by samsung

    My ice maker constantly overflows and freezes. So no ice until i hammer it apart freeing the mechanism that drop the ice down into the bucket. My evaporator fan has frozen over 3x. This most recent time the ice was so large it held the styrofoam/plastic cover and I cracked it while trying to get back there to hammer the ice out. Their weak advice to tip the fridge is a useless placebo. Don't buy samsung appliances. If you google these issues you'll find they're common amongst owners of this refrigerator.
