This is a beautiful, well designed fridge. It is and strategically lit and appears to to be built to last. BUT the ice maker is terrible. The cubes are small and more like compressed snow that solid ice. Expect to keep a bag of ice in the freezer unless you don't mind all beverages to watered down.

Do not purchase this refrigerator. For the first 2 years everything was fine. Water started to come from the ice dispenser. Initially, this was just a minor annoyance, but then the problem increased to the ice maker freezing up and needing to be defrosted every 3-4 weeks. Shortly after, fan started making loud noise and fridge froze solid. Whole thing would need to be unplugged to defrost. Samsung authorized repairman indicated this was a known problem for Samsung and suggested contacting the company considering overall age of the fridge. Several Samsung representative basically said the same thing-Out of warranty, not our problem. Repairman replaced ice maker and thermostat, but said there is no guarantee the problem is fixed. Sure enough, 6 weeks later same problem is happening. 3 minutes of research on the internet will show the high number of people who have this same problem.

Ice maker keeps freezing over and causing issues with cooling. Ice maker also leaks which is annoying to come home to a small puddle .

Worst appliance I have ever owned. Continual problems with the ice maker (Google it), and now it will randomly stop cooling, while displaying the desired temperatures on the front of the panel. In other words, the fridge says 37F, and when we take the temperature inside it's actually 59F. Only after unplugging it and plugging it back in will it show the correct temperatures and start cooling again. HORRIBLE.

Lots of space. French doors are great and plenty of room in the freezer. Works great!

This refrigerator is not one I would buy again. After a few years, it developed an issue where there was a leak under the "deli" tray and we have to remove it weekly. There is not a fix that will not cause more issues. We are now looking at replacing this fridge and not sure where to go from there. I have made it work for almost 10 years because I was not replacing it after only 4 years. The warranty had expired and the quote for the fix was almost as much as a new one. I gave it 3 stars because it won't let me give 2 1/2.

We bought this fridge after debating against better named brands like Kenmore, GE, and Frigidaire. The ice maker on this unit CONSTANTLY freezes up and does not make ice. It has to be melted with a hairdryer at least once a month. The water filter is also a problem. 'the water dispenscer makes a ton of noise ever since changing the filter. If I had it to do over I would make a different decision, and I will never buy a Samsung fridge again.

ice maker stop working after 1 year. would not recommend.

All I want is a refigerator that has a working ice maker. This refig has nothing but problems. The first time it broker, Samsung reluctantly replaced since it was out of warranty. Then it broke 5 months later and now no one will replace it without $750. This just sounds rediculour for a company such as Samsung. Our refig is 3 years old and I am looking at buying a GE or LG.

Absolutely love the black stainless look! Inside it is very spacious and can accommodate just about anything you throw in there. I bought it because of the Samsung name. So far, I have no complaints. It does everything it is supposed to and looks great doing it. It's a nice addition to our kitchen.

If possible I would rate this Samsung refrigerator -10 stars: I purchased this Samsung in FEB 2019 from Best Buy and it takes top prize for being the worst major appliance I’ve ever purchased! This unit completely stopped working April 25. It lasted only a few months. Soon after installation the unit began making loud compressor type noises and it only got louder as days/weeks went by. At times the loud racket would last for approximately 35 minutes but, soon evolved to a steady 2+ hours before shutting off! It was driving me insane. Nothing I did (temp changes, unit location shift, etc.) made any difference. Two days before it died I had a premonition that this unit was on its last legs so I purchased a small 5 cu ft chest freezer. This saved the day as I was able to save all my frozen foods from spoiling a few days later. I was duped by the Samsung name but, never again. They should get out of the major appliance business and stick to cellphones. I will never, ever spend my money on any Samsung appliance. Calling it junk would be a compliment.

We bought our fridge in 2018. We had issues from day 1. First the doors were uneven. Service came out and tried to replace the hinge to no avail so they delivered a new fridge. Within 6 months we started having issues with the ice maker freezing over and requiring a Forced Defrost. We have to force defrost at least every month. During the defrost the fridge beeps ever 2 seconds for 45 minutes! nearly 3 years old the lettering is now wearing off the control panel. If you do buy this make sure to use a stainless cleaner and watch out for rust spots. If they appear clean them quickly or they will grow. When we remodeled the kitchen we bought a Samsung appliances: Fridge, Dishwasher, stove and microwave. All but the stove have issues and will be replaced soon.

DO NOT BUY FROM SAMSUNG. What a horrible piece of junk from a reliability perspective. Love the design and layout but...The icemaker starting leaking water, the fridge is 18 months old and I know it is out of warranty so I called a repair man (a trusted friend). He came to the house and said "oh yeah I service Samsungs for this issue all the time, at least 5 or so a week". The icemaker and the auger unit needed to be replaced, $755, WHAT almost half the price I paid for the fridge itself. I looked online and the parts are over $400 at the cheapest place. I called Samsung and they said it is out of warranty and would not do anything to make me happy. I would call this a defect if the component is failing in less than 2 years, which according to my buddy he sees all of the time but what does Samsung care they are making a killing on repair parts on fridges that are less than 2 years old. I will never buy another product from this company and I suggest you don't either, complete junk.

Samsung should leave our Kitchens. They should change their brand name to 'INCONVENIENT". Two months of nightmare with them as a family with no fridge in hot days. They could not fix their own fridge and gave us no refund since it was a year older than manufacture warranty. Families should buy other brands, definitely not Samsung! I had the same issue with their customer service department . They never admit to their faulty icemakers and French door refrigerator problems and blame you the customer for it. Our fridge lasted four years only and our GE before this lasted 17 years. You do the math!

We bought this refrigerator in July, 2014. We had a repairman came 3 times already. The refrigerator is loud when the fan come on and it goes on and off for hours. We purchased warranty so Geek Squad replaced the mother board and the whole cooling panel, but we still have the same problem. There are more than 1500 reviews about the same problem. Samsung continues to sale the same products. I am so frustrated and wasted of my time when I have to wait for the repairman to come. I will NOT recommend ANY SAMSUNG refrigerators to anyone. SAMSUNG get your act together and fix this problem!!!

We bought this in aug of 2014 and now the air passage wayys freeze up and the only solution is to turn the fridge off over night. we bought this because we were told it has a 10 year warranty but turns out it only has a 10 year warranty on some parts. Now samsung will not even pay for a service call or the parts. their nearest service center is 75 miles away and they don not answer their phones. I will never buy another samsung product again

Loved my refrigerator, until we started to have problems with the ice maker. It was repaired 2 times and we still had the same issue. Ice maker froze on the inside creating a lick on the dispenser and the inside shelves. Other then that is a great product.
