The ice maker had to be replaced within the first 2 years of having the refrigerator. The ice maker had to be replaced a second time when the refrigerator was less than 4 years old. We are now a few months past that, and the ice maker is leaking. We just located a 1/2" sheet of ice under the cheese tray that had built up due to the leaks. When you try to dispense ice from the door, water comes out first, and then the ice. The ice frequently freezes in chunks and will not dispense properly. I will never buy another Samsung refrigerator again if it includes the ice maker in the refrigerator instead of the freezer.

After several years of service, sadly this refrigerator is really showing its age. Several issues have cropped up which will limit its service life: - Plastic parts throughout the refrigerator have become brittle and are crumbling or need gluing: shelves, drawers, slides, everything. - Ice maker started to frost up and is now broken, requiring replacement - Refrigerator evaporator defrost was not working as expected, and required replacement of the evaporator case and reprogramming of the refrigerator. It still freezes up in humid weather.

Works great, ice maker is louder then I would like but makes lots of ice

We built a house in early 2017 and bought all new Samsung appliances. I have had nothing but problems with all the appliances. This refrigerator worked great for the first year until the factory warranty was over. Then the ice maker froze over. I had a service guy come replace it and it was good again for another year. Now on year 5 of ownership and it has had the ice maker system replaced 3 times. I know how important it is to have it sitting level and it still freezes over. Samsung is no longer a good brand when it comes to appliances. I will never buy Samsung again.

We've had this model since 2015. The ice maker stopped working after 2 years. My husband had it repaired and it still doesn't work. The repairman said that Samsung has issues with their ice makers and are refusing to address it. We still have to thaw out the ice maker every 2 weeks or less to get the ice maker to make ice. Please look into another brand, if you don't want constant repairs.

Good refrigerator, absolutely garbage ice maker. Every month we need to defrost the ice maker. Samsung won't do anything about it.

We have this Samsung fridge since 2014. In the beginning, it worked fine. But we started having problems in the last 12 months (1) frequent water buildup under vegetable storage tray caused by plugged drain tube in the back of the fridge which we had to manually clean (2) noisy fan due to buildup of ice which we had to "force" the fridge to perform defrost manually. Now the fridge just stopped cooling (the freezer section is fine) which I suspect is due to frozen coil. We are now looking to buy another fridge. It will not be a Samsung.

Had this for three years and works perfectly with no problems.

Ice maker didn't last a year...now the fridge doesn't keep cold enough and all my food spoils

We just bought this on 5-12-2016 and all is well except for a loud click that happens throughout the day. It sounds like a line contactor relay engaging whenever the compressor is called upon. Can anyone tell me if this is normal or is this a defective refrigerator that'll soon be going up in smoke.

I am very satisfied with this unit, it performs very well and is very quiet.

Here is this refrigerator at 7 years old and we see the temp after defrost will not cool down. We have the repairman called, and we don't know for sure whether to get it fixed, if it can, or purchase a new one. So dissatisfied to see this at only 7 years, and yet, I see others have had problems sooner.

Great product for the price paid and always enjoy Samsung

Terrible dispenser. Ice maker stopped working. Freezer stopped working. The rest of the fridge was nice though.

After about 7 months we noticed no ice coming out and the ice maker just making a loud noise. The ice maker was completely frozen over inside and unable to dispense or make any ice. We then read some more reviews of this fridge and many people are having the same issue every month or so and have to completely defrost it. It hasn’t even been 3 weeks since the last freeze up and today it has been jammed up and is frozen over again. We are very unhappy with this fridge as it was expensive. Will never buy Samsung again.

Ours died in 18 months. Sealed system could not be repaired. As others had said here, repair guy said to stay away from Samsung appliances. You may get 2-3 year of use at most. Also, Samsung customer service is one of the worst I've ever encountered. No one if the organization will do anything to fix their piece of S products.

Still going after all this time so a good 7 years!

I replaced my old refrigerator because I needed a large one and this is exactly what I was looking for, thank you.
