Was great for 3.5 years
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Paid nearly $2k for this Consumer Reports Best Buy rated frig on 4/28/2016. No issued until August 2019. That's when the horrendous frig fan noise happened the first time. Checked it out on line and found that the fan and cooling lines FREEZE, which requires internal frig breakdown in order to melt the ice dam. Contacted Samsung and guess what NOT covered under warranty. Saw nearly 100 reviews about the same issue with the Samsung models. It's now 4/26/2020 and I just completed my 4th take down and ice melt. This time was different though, as the ice actually formed around the fan and stopped it, rather than starting behind it, so there was NO fan slapping the ice for a couple of days (which is the warning that it must be melted). This caused the inside fridge temp to go up as the fan was stopped by ice. After about 45 minutes with the blow dryer, finally free'd up the ice. Luckily the fan is electronic and the motor wasn't burnt or I'd bee replacing the fridge today. I have another couple of weeks before it freezes up again, to shop for another. If you're thinking about a Samsung model of Refrigerator, better research it first. Type in: samsung refrigerator 28hfedbsr fan noise, and see what you're getting yourself into!

I would not buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We bought a Samsung refrigerator (model Number Rf263BEAESR/AA)at or about the 25th of November 2016. At about the two-year mark, the icemaker started having problems. It was not making ice. At first, if I chipped off the built-up ice, it would produce ice again (this was a consent battle). After a while, it stopped producing ice at all. We called Samsung, and they agreed to pay for the ice maker to be replaced, but not the service. I want to thank you for that! You (Samsung) did not tell us that the icemaker had been having problems across the board, nor did you mention the icemaker's class-action suit. If Samsung knew that the ice maker was faulty, why didn't they pay for the service call in addition to replacing the icemaker? A little while ago, the refrigerator stopped working, pools of water running out of the fridge, and would not cool. The Freezer still works, though. Full disclosure we have had this refrigerator for about 3.75 years. Samsung said they would have a repairman come out. They could not reach a Samsung qualified repair specialist. When contact was made, we were informed that they would not make a service call to our house, too busy. Samsung told us to find a maintenance specialist, and if the motor or the compressor were faulty, they would cover it. When I looked online, multiple examples of customers have had the same issues with their Samsung refrigerators. We contacted a local maintenance specialist who could work on Samsung refrigerators. He informed us he could fix it but that he was not going to guaranty the work. He also stated that chances are we would have to repair it soon after. Today we were forced to buy a new refrigerator. Samsung has had significant issues with their refrigerators. I talked to a Samsung rep (Rebeca, I think). She stated that they could not refund us- They had to try and repair it first. I explained that they did not have anyone in this area (she explained this to me first). I also explained to her that the repairman explained that he could fix it, but it would happen again. I stated that, to me, that would be a patch. It would get you down the road to the gas station, but you would have to buy a new tire when you got there. That is what we did; we bought a new refrigerator. We cannot throw out 200 dollars in food the next time the Samsung went out. I told her what her company was doing is wrong. They have the right to do it, but it is wrong.

Do Not Buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ice makers are junk and will stop working after a year and Samsung stand behind the product. They recognize there is a problem but wont fix it. Google Samsung class action lawsuit. Bought extended warranty and still couldn't get it fixed the repair place basically explained the fix will work for a couple months and fail. Also they make you defrost the entire refrig not just freezer to even come look at it.

Don't do it.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.If you want to feel like your great grandma, and defrost your refrigerator all the time, and have frozen milk when you wake up and fight with them to fix the same issues all the time. Go for it. This icemaker will break. The refrigerator will freeze over. It will make it to the fan gets loud and stops working. All of the money you spent will be thrown away in 3-5 years. It's great.

Cooling system and ice maker issues.

The ice makers are no good, they will start freezing up and within 5 years you'll be paying thousands in non-stop repairs. Not a good product and Samsung is not standing behind their product.

Ice maker design flaw

Causing it to stop functioning. It is very frustrating. Apart from the ice Aker not working. The Refridgerator is very good.

Samsung uses Tekniton exclusively for service of their products. Do yourself a HUGE favor and look at their reviews before purchasing a Samsung appliance.
