I've attempted to hook it up to a separate device as well as use other hdmi cords and nothing has worked. Having attempted to troubleshoot the problem on various occasions ive decided to give up, i cannot figure out why the only thing on the display is the hdmi 1 & 2 in the top left hand corner. With that being said it's not one I'd recommend.

Wasn’t color calibrated the best when I got it but it took probable 5 minutes to tune better. The reason it’s not 5 stars is it takes a while to turn on. Probably 10 seconds but seems like a lot. And that anytime it is in full screen and switches, it goes to a black screen for 3/4 seconds.

Compromised VESA mounting due to mechanical interference between mounting plate and curved flange surrounding monitor mount facia. Easy to solve with spacers and longer M4 machine screws. See photo.

I had planned to use a VGA-to-Display Port adapter, but the use of HDMI made that unnecessary. The size and resolution of the desktop makes it easy to see everything a school-aged child needs to see when attending virtual classes.

Connected cable to HDMI 1 port. MacBook recognized the monitor initially and worked well with good image quality. Used it for viewing scanned photos and editing about couple hours, and then turned off computer and monitor. When tried to use it again following day, difficulty recognizing the monitor thru same port, and would cycle thru HDMI 1, then HDMI 2, and then DP. I attempted to use the toggle/joy stick type button of the monitor to prevent the cycling. Not sure what happened, but eventually stopped and able to use monitor again. Every time would put computer to sleep or turned off and on again, the same cycling thru the ports would occur again. After 2 days of frustration of my inability to find a solution thru the manuals and online help sites, was unable to fix this issue. When the image was present, I was satisfied with the image quality. Other complaints of this monitor was the frustrating use of the control button/joystick/switch at the bottom of the monitor, and the poor documentation and instruction quality of the accompanying quick manual and the online PDF manual. Samsung should have been able to provide better documents. I'm sure this monitor would have functioned well for someone else, but frustrating to use with my MacBook.

I had to connect them directly via USB - C cables to get 4k@60 as my dock didn’t support it. I plan to acquire a thunderbolt 3 dock to remedy the need to use all 4 of my MacBook ports.

Stand is not sturdy or stable

I barely touch my desk or type on the keyboard and it starts to move back and forth. I may be returning it based on that alone. When I did a chat with Samsung to see if there's anything that can be done to improve it, I was told there were 92 people ahead of me! Uh, no thank you. With customer service like that, that's another reason to search for another brand.

The graphics on the Samsung UR55 have been fantastic; the 4k resolution really does make a difference. Highly recommend if you are looking at an extended WFH scenario too.
