    Q70 sound bar new version not same as older versio

    I bought this exact model 2018 version thinking it was the same thing but the speakers are not Harmon/kardon and the sub was a 6.5” instead of 8.5 which is what I got 2 years ago. I tested the sound it was not great. I took it back and got the q900t I believe.

    Both units, had issues with the wireless subwoofer staying connected to the sound bar. 1 unit lasted 4 days, the other last 6. After multiple resets (for both units), the subwoofer never reconnected to the sound bar

      Thank you for your review of this Samsung HW-Q70T Soundbar System. I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing connection issues.

      If the audio from the wireless subwoofer is dropping out intermittently there are a few things to check before performing any troubleshooting:
      1) The maximum wireless signal transmission distance is about 33 ft.
      2) If there is a wall between the sound bar and the subwoofer it may cause interference or not work at all depending on the material in the wall.
      3) If there is a device that uses the same wireless frequency (2.4 GHz) near the Soundbar, interference may cause some sound interruption.
      4) Check all of the sources on the soundbar. If the audio is dropping while watching TV it could be an issue with the broadcast.
      5) Also, please be sure you have the latest firmware update. You can update your firmware by Auto Update, using the SmartThings app, or by using a USB device.     I probably should not have purchased it and saved the money. It's not what I had expected and hard to use. The tiny screen is next to worthless. Wish changes being made would be displayed on the Samsung TV I bought with it.

    Purchased the sound bar to improve speech intelligibility of my Visio TV. Sound bar sound quality is very poor compared to my Yamaha YAS-207 and requires constant adjustment, minute to minute, to hear dialog. Surround effects overpower voices and can not be adjusted voices are overly bright at times and dull at other times. I have tried all surround modes, letting bar do decoding and letting TV do decoding. Nothing has worked. I will be returning the sound bar. It is connected to the TV through the HDMI ACR port. The app is also poor and does not offer full control of the sound bar. Very disappointing purchase.

      Before you return it, you may want to try the tip below:

      To improve your experience, press the Sound Mode button on your remote control and select Adaptive Sound. In Adaptive Sound mode, the soundbar analyzes the content and volume to optimize the audio rendering resulting in clearer dialogue.

      Using Dynamic Range Control (DRC). DRC lets you apply dynamic range control to Dolby Digital tracks. With DRC turned on, loud sounds will be reduced.
      1) Turn off your Soundbar.
      2) While the Soundbar is off, press and hold the Sound Mode button on the remote control for 6 seconds until you see “DRC ON” shown on the display.
      3) To turn off DRC, repeat steps 1 and 2 above.

    Sound bar is over priced for functionality. Does not pair well with Samsung television. Sound does not stay synced with picture. For the most part this appliance is inoperative. Not sure if it is faulty installation or a lemon product.

    Purchased this as a replacement to my Bose 3-2-1, which I had for years and have loved. The sound was very disappointing, no bass and could not adjust settings to make it sound any better. Returned it.

    We had to return the first one after a month because it stopped working. We are Best Buy elite members so we were able to return. We also did a price match but I bought the warranty on the second.

    Won`t sync with tv, no matter what sync level I choose. Spoken words are as much as a full syllable off from the speakers lips. I'm sending it back.

    For the price I feel like it under performs. There isn't a lot of tune ability either. The set up was simple enough since I have a Samsung tv it really was just plug and play.

      You can try optimizing audio performance for your specific content by pressing the SOUND MODE button on your remote, and then selecting the desired sound effect by choosing STANDARD, SURROUND SOUND, GAME PRO, or ADAPTIVE SOUND

      You can further adjust TREBLE and BASS via the SOUND CONTROL button (looks like a gear symbol).

      There are two adjustments that can be made to maximize bass from the soundbar and subwoofer:
      1) Using the WOOFER button on the remote, you can adjust the volume of the subwoofer between -6 to +6 by toggling the button up or down. To set the subwoofer volume level to 0, press the button in.

      2) Adjust the bass control by pressing the SOUND CONTROL button (gear icon) on the remote control, then select BASS to increase the level. You can adjust the volume between -6 to +6 by using the Up/Down buttons.

    Soundbar will not play sound through TV ARC. After testing various HDMI cords and having the Samsung TV checked with Geek Squad it just will not play sound. The TV identifies that the soundbar is plugged in (but greyed out in sound settings), but says there is no connection. The sound bar itself displays "TV SOUND NOT AVAILABLE". So frustrating considering how much this cost.

    Weak Soundbar and Bass Not worth the money

    Weak bass even at full volume doesn’t deliver a good enough punch and the mids and highs are ok dissatisfied in the 2020 samsung soundbar line up . wanted to like it but returned it within 24hours. better of with their other company jbl bigger subwoofer more power and more bang for you’re buck.

    It quit working about three weeks after we bought it had to send it in since you wouldnt replace it. So I am unhappy with you and.sansug We picked it up January 11, 2021 and it broke down February 5, 2021 so you realize we’re not happy

    This sound bar sounds great until it completely explodes into distortion when you are watching a movie!! No way to make it stop except to turn it off and on again. Then the distortion comes back 5 minutes later! Horribly bad product.

      I am sorry to see that you are not completely happy with the performance of the Samsung HW-Q70T Soundbar featuring audio-enhancing technologies like Acoustic Beam for directional sound, Adaptive Sound mode to optimize content, and wireless subwoofer for deep bass.

      Please try these tips to improve performance:

      1) Check that the soundbar is correctly positioned correctly with the SAMSUNG logo facing up towards the ceiling. We have found that many customers are misplacing the soundbar with the SAMSUNG logo perpendicular to the floor (facing you when seated), with the unit resting on the speakers, resulting in muffled sound.

    Can’t connect

    I purchased and haven’t been able to listen to the surrounding system. Did all the connection and the Bluetooth won’t connect. So I change to the cable and no sound . Called Samsung and no one answered. Disappointed. Expected more .

      Hi Cris,

      I am very sorry to see that you are having connection issues between the Samsung HW-W70T Soundbar and TV. If you are connecting wirelessly via Bluetooth, please follow these steps:

      1) Press the PAIR button on the remote to enter BT PAIRING mode
      - “BT” changes to “BT PAIRING” in a few seconds automatically or changes to “BT READY” if there is a connect record.
      - When “BT READY” appears, press and hold the (Mic On/Off) button on the top panel of the Soundbar for more than 5 seconds to display “BT PAIRING”.
      2) Select Bluetooth mode on the Samsung TV: Home > Settings (gear button on remote) > Sound > Sound Output > Bluetooth Speaker List > [AV] Samsung Soundbar Q70T (Bluetooth))
      3) Select “[AV] Samsung Soundbar Q70T” from the list on TV’s screen. An available Soundbar is indicated with “Need Pairing” or “Paired” on the TV’s Bluetooth device list. To connect the Samsung TV to the Soundbar, select the message, and then establish a connection.
      - When the Samsung TV is connected, [TV Name] > “BT” appears on the Soundbar’s front display
      4) After you have connected the Soundbar to your Samsung TV the first time, use the “BT READY” mode to reconnect.

      If you have an existing Soundbar (e.g., [AV] Samsung Soundbar Q70T) on the list of speakers on the Samsung TV, delete it. Then repeat steps 1 through 3.

      If you are experiencing no sound issues when then cable is connected, you may want to check that the cable connection is not loose. Remove the cable and connect again.

      You may also want to initialize your soundbar again by pressing the - + (volume) buttons at the same time for at least 5 seconds. “INIT” appears on the display when the soundbar is initialized.

      Please also make sure that you have the latest firmware update. You can update your firmware by Auto Update, or by using a USB device.
