      Thank you for purchasing the Samsung HW-R650 featuring Smart Sound technology that auto-detects what you are watching and adjusts settings for the best experience. I'm sorry to see that you are not not happy with performance.

      You can try optimizing audio performance for your specific content by pressing the SOUND MODE button on your soundbar remote, and then selecting the desired sound effect by choosing STANDARD, SURROUND SOUND, GAME, or SMART.

      You can also press the Sound Control button on the remote (looks like a gear) to adjust TREBLE and BASS.

      Press and hold the Sound Control button for about 5 seconds to adjust the sound for each of seven frequency bands.

      Using the WOOFER button on the remote, you can adjust the volume of the subwoofer between -6 to +6 by toggling the button up or down. To set the subwoofer volume level to 0, press the button down.

      Also, please check that the soundbar is correctly positioned with the SAMSUNG logo facing up towards the ceiling. We have found that many customers are misplacing the soundbar with the SAMSUNG logo perpendicular to the floor (facing you when seated), with the unit resting on the speakers, resulting in muffled sound.

    Great sound bar and sub

    Went to and bought the samsung 2.1 290 watt and wiz weak so I returned and got the samsung 3.1 340 watt and man what a difference way better and can really feel the bass easy set up. And sound well I dont even have to turn it all the way up over all very satisfied will have to go back and get some rear speakers to connect with this just to add some rear level sound recommend 1000 %.

    The sound quality is pretty good for the price. Biggest issues ive had are: The sound display is kinda hard to see, particularly if your seating is back a bit. The volume while controllable from the TV remote, does not allow you to hold it far large volume adjustments... You have to click the button multiple times to turn it back down after a quite show...

    I wasn't ready for the power this thing puts out. This Polk soundbar is much louder than the Samsung I replaced. The bass is strong and the voices come across clear. The only thing I don't like is I lost some of my sound option because my Samsung TV isn't paired with the Samsung soundbar anymore.

    This is exactly what I was looking for in a soundbar. I got this on sale and feel it’s a great value. The center speakers are what drew me to this model and it’s worth it.

    Sounds good. Subwoofer and bottom end lacking

    Bought this and returned it. 3.1 sound is great for dialog but bottom end for this price point is seriously lacking. Tried setting up the sound with the remote and found negligible difference from highest to lowest setting. Exchanged it for the LG SL6Y and I am very satisfied with the choice. I am a big fan of Samsung products but this one was disappointing

    Nothing but trouble

    Bought this soundbar August 2019 and hasn't worked except 2 weeks. Totally frustrsted. It has a popping noise then after about 1 week after it starts popping, the sound bar just stops working. I have taken it back to Geek Squad 2 times and called Ssmsung today. Going to have Samsung TRY to fix it. Best Buy will NOT replace or give my money back. I buy everything Samsung but disappointed with this product. This is probably a fluke problem but nevertheless a frustrating issue. I thought after buying the product and extended warranty, Best Buy would stand behind their product better. I was very wrong......

    Sound bar display stopped working

    Sound bar had pretty good sound, but sound bar LED display stopped working after setting it up for bluetooth. Tryed to reprogram but power on & remote stopped working and could not could not reprogram to optical or Bluetooth. So will be returning today.

    HW-R650/ZA sound bar and woofer

    i purchased this item on 7/9/19. the one is the store is really bassy. mine is not loud and bassy at all. there is no sound from the sub woofer at all. it sucks!

      There are two adjustments that can be made to maximize the potential of the included wireless subwoofer:
      1) Using the WOOFER button on the remote, you can adjust the volume of the subwoofer between -6 to +6 by pressing the button up or down. To set the subwoofer volume level to 0, press the button
      2) Or adjust the bass control by pressing the Sound Control button (gear icon) on the remote control, then select BASS to increase the level. You can adjust the volume between -6~+6 by using the Up/Down buttons.

      For precise audio adjustments, you can use the 7-band frequency equalizer to optimize the sound for your room acoustics.

    Dont buy this

    I already had a sony soundbar and subwoofer in my living room and it is amazing. It is now in my bedroom. So I thought I would try out this one because it has pretty decent reviews and it didnt sound too bad in the store. Got it home and it didnt sound like it did in the store at all! I took it back and got the sony HT-S350 it is $279 and it sounds 10x better. I know I will always stick with sony!

      I am very sorry to see that the sound quality at home was not the same as you heard in store.

      Please know that it has come to our attention that some customers have been positioning the soundbar incorrectly, resulting in poor sound quality. The soundbar should be placed with the SAMSUNG logo facing up towards the ceiling. If you position the soundbar with the logo facing up, you will see the display/status panel and the speakers will be facing outward. (Refer to product photos on Samsung.com and zoom in on the photos) If you have incorrectly placed the soundbar with the SAMSUNG logo perpendicular to the floor (facing you when you sit), you will experience muffled or low quality sound because the unit will be resting on the speakers.

      I hope this helps to explain why perhaps the sound in the store was different than what you experienced at home.

    No Bass

    This item is a piece of junk. No sound comes from the subwoofer even when it is connected. Online help? Forget about it. It seems Samsung has had subwoofer issues with past models dating back to 2015. The bar itself is decent but you'll get more bass from crickets than you will the soundbar subwoofer.

    Don’t waste your time

    This Samsung is garbage. The kid working at the Best Buy talked us right into it. We took it home hooked it up and returned it the very next day for the JBL 3.1. It was more expensive but totally worth the extra money. This Samsung isn’t worth anything.
