I bought a high-end Samsung TV and felt that it deserved a surround sound system to go with it. This soundbar and subwoofer are a good setup for me while I save up for something nicer. Setup was incredibly easy (plug into the wall, turn on bluetooth pairing, select soundbar from TV). I also purchased the rear speakers to compliment this system.

Easy to hook up, the wireless Bluetooth woofer works great and the sound is crystal clear. It has wall mounting brackets which many soundbar's don't and it just looks cool. It fills a room with sound without sacrificing quality. Worth every penny. The only thing I really didn't like is that voices can sometimes get lost in the subs base.

MANY PEOPLE ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS & FOR GOOD REASON...SAMSUNG HAS PUT A 5 MIN...YES 5 MINUTE AUTO SHUTOFF SETTING THAT UNLESS THEY ISSUE A FIRMWARE UPDATE CUTS OFF YOUR SOUNDBAR WHEN YOU PAUSE YOUR TV FOR JUST 5 MINS. Go make a snack or take care of a calling of nature and you come back and restart your show/game...the soundbar is OFF. You have to manually turn it back on. I like to pause my stuff...I admit it...if the phone rings etc. and this just is driving me nuts!!! It's a terrible feature and if I didn't like my 750 so much ( and have Samsung TV married to it ) I would have taken this one back too. In closing... Didn't like this model...like the sound of the 750 A LOT...hate the auto shutdown feature!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung HW-M550 Soundbar System. I am sorry to hear that you were not completely satisfied with the user experience.
When the Soundbar is connected via Optical or Bluetooth connection and there is no sound for 5 minutes, the set turns off automatically, as these technologies do not have a method of sending power On/Off commands.
You can avoid the auto shut-off by using HDMI or Wi-Fi connection.

Great Sound

I love that the speaker is wireless. Only downside is the bass doesn't go very loud so I don't think you necessarily get the full effect but for our first sound bar I was fine with the results and price.

Found this one on an Open Box special - which was significantly less than the lesser quality unit I intended to purchase. Set-up was easy, and the sound quality is great. Very thankful for this "happy accident". I considered buying the rear speakers to go along with this - but have not done so yet, though I am still considering it.

This doesn't completely resolve the issue but it make it a lot better and the sound quality is great - we can hear all kinds of little background sounds that weren't noticed before.
