Spent considerable time trying different settings. Kept the box and all packaging for 3 weeks / contemplating returning for a refund. Many times the seems the tv's speaker sounds better than this sound bar / as for the subwoofer / well I just dont / cant hear much improvement.Disapointed / should have returned. Purchase on sale / still doesnt seem like money well spent

Please check the connection between the Soundbar and other source devices, and try the following tips that may help improve the volume level.
1. If the Soundbar is connected to a TV thru HDMI, make sure to use the HDMI-ARC jack on the TV and select “External speakers” as the TV sound output.
2. Check the audio output format sent to the Soundbar. Typical options are PCM, Dolby Digital, and Bitstream. Select the option that optimizes the sound from your source.
3. Change the SOUND MODE on the Soundbar using the Soundbar’s remote. Choices are STANDARD, MUSIC, CLEAR VOICE, SPORTS, or MOVIE. Select the appropriate mode for the individual room acoustics.
4. Turn on Dynamic Range Control. This is done by pressing and holding the SOUND MODE button on the remote control while the Soundbar is in standby mode.
We also recommend users update the software to the latest version, so that the unit would keep up with improvements and compatibility enhancements. The software updates can be performed via the Multiroom App on your mobile device, or via manual download from Samsung.com/support

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We've been looking for some help for the internal speakers of our flat panel in our bedroom, and the 550 series Samsung was at the top of our list for value. This year's model (HW-M550/ZA) has improvements with the wireless subwoofer and it works quite well. No problems connecting via fiber optic digital audio input, and reprogramming our Harmony remote to control volume from the Samsung instead of the TV. Good clarity without sounding tinny and the subwoofer performed well. Not to the same scale as our large AV component system in our great room, but it was very reasonably priced.
