Decent sound

Had a problem knowing which HDMI connection on TV to use for the HDMI ARC - manual was no help and Samsung Tech help was pretty poor. Finally got it to work and sound is ok, but nothing that blows you away

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung K550 Soundbar. I am sorry to hear that you had difficulties with setup and that sound quality is not impressive.
A common misunderstanding is that customers are not placing the soundbar with the SAMSUNG logo facing up towards the ceiling. If you position the soundbar with the logo facing up, you will see the display/status panel and the speakers will be facing outward. If you have incorrectly placed the soundbar with the display side down and the SAMSUNG logo perpendicular to the floor, you will experience muffled or low quality sound because the unit will be resting on the speakers.

Good Starters, but not impressed with the sound ba
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The sound bar I got is the same as my TV Samsung, and my TV was only purchased about 3 years ago and the TV does not have an output for the sound bar, the quality of sound is not as good as a $200 cheaper Visio that I purchased for my son a year ago.

Samsung soundbar

Good but.

Sound not great, integration not great

On the plus side, pairing the sub to the bar was a breeze. Pairing it to the TV took more tries than it should. The integration with the TV usually works, but sometimes I have to turn on my sound bar manually. Also, in the fine print if you tie it to your TV you lose the ability to use it as a bluetooth speaker. The sound bar sits under my TV using the mounting holes. Super standard setup. The sound is pretty muddy, despite fiddling. The display on the sound bar points down, so you can't see it unless you stick your head under the TV. Odd design choice.

A common misunderstanding that can lead to "muddy" sound is that customers are not placing the soundbar with the SAMSUNG logo facing up toward the ceiling. From your review, it sounds like you have not positioned it correctly, and therefor are not be able to see the display/status panel (which should be perpendicular to the floor). This incorrect positioning will also muffle the sound as the speakers will not be positioned correctly either. Refer to product photos on BestBuy.com and you can see how the soundbar should be positioned.

Sound quality not at expectations

Good soundbar, weak subwoofer

Sound & Pic Sync

It's slight but noticeable. I may have to return the item if I can't fix it. It's about 1/2 a second and the audio settings only allow up to 300ms.

Samsung - 3.1-channel Soundbar System With Wirele

However I noticed for different formats (dvd, tv movies, apple or netflex) the sound can be loud, normal or mild.

Need to play loud to sound good

Decent low end sound bar

Good sound system for smaller rooms

Okay but not the greatest

Remote never works.

Not OK for the price

good basic soundbar, need speakers

Awesome Soundbar.

Easy to set up, all cables are included. One thing I noticed is a bit of volume difference when using different video sources, so have to play with the settings every time I switch media input. Streaming audio from Netflix or Hulu need a lot of tweaking. Wish there was a couple of pre sets that automatically configure for different input.

Beware the Open Box

From the looks of the rag tag box and shipping labels, this has been bought and returned more than once. Best Buy.....fix it or retire it! I tried all of the connections over several hours to try to get it to work. No luck with optical,HDMI,HDMI ARC,Bluetooth,Samsung sound connect,or any other connection. Taking this unworkable time waster in it's ragged box back.
