Works fine but sound isn't any better than the TV

Dissappointed

I was able to get it hooked up, but sound quality was in no way worth what we paid for it. In addtion, the remote was worthless - it could have been user error but I am pretty handy with this stuff. I could not get it to work. In addtion, there was supposed to be a digital message / status showing through front side of the screen to help you know what setting you were on - this would simply not work for me. I returned it.

Awesome mids & highs

dissappointed!

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung K550 Soundbar. I am sorry to hear that you had issues with the optical cable.
A common reason that the optical cord is not fitting properly is that there is a small cap on the connector end that needs to be removed before using the cable. With the cap in place, the cable will not fit securely. Please check for the cap.

The sound is really low. I think the max level is 40, or something, and at about 31, you'd better make sure no one is talking, and there's no overtly loud anything playing in the vicinity or you'll be asking yourself why, oh why, didn't I just cough up that kidney.

A common misunderstanding is that customers are not placing the soundbar with the SAMSUNG logo facing up towards the ceiling. If you position the soundbar with the logo facing up, you will see the display/status panel and the speakers will be facing outward. If you have incorrectly placed the soundbar with the display side down and the SAMSUNG logo perpendicular to the floor, you will experience muffled or low sound because the unit will be resting on the speakers.

Bluetooth Audio constantly sutters

It pairs via Bluetooth, and the audio constantly stuttered. I tried pairing with my phone and it also was the same problem. I went to the Samsung website and found forums showing that this is a common issue and has not been addressed with a firmware fix for at least 6 months. This was a very disappointing purchase, and I expected a much higher level of quality from Samsung.

Sound is not very clear.

Not as portrayed by salesperson

You can't get the same "surround" feel as demonstrated in the store without the extra pieces. We used it for 2 days and returned it. Also, unlike our previous system, this one doesn't stay connected to the tv. Once the tv is off and turned back on, you have to manually turn the surround system on. Our original one comes on immediately when the tv is turned on.

Basic soundbar

Lacking in volume
