totally different than in store
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.guy in bestbuy done a demo for me..sounded A MAZING..got home and i had to check my box to make sure it was the same one as i hear in store..the bass in store is what sold me on it. the soundbar itself i already knew what to expect. for a small sub in store i was impressed and the deal i got it for what crazy to pass up..$185 open box...i purchased it saturday and needless to say i returned it first thing monday and bought the polk audio magnifi. i had been looking at the polk before hand but like the samsung would sync wirelessly to my tv. if you want a great soundbar and just a dog toot of bass then this is the system for you.check out the polk audio magnifi if you want something more.

Battery for the remote was dead. Everytime the network flickers or looses strength you must resybc the sound bar remote us basically usekess

OK for TV great for music

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung K550 Soundbar. I am sorry to see that you are not getting adequate volume on this unit.
A common misunderstanding is that customers are not placing the soundbar with the SAMSUNG logo facing up towards the ceiling. If you position the soundbar with the logo facing up, you will see the display/status panel and the speakers will be facing outward. If you have incorrectly placed the soundbar with the display side down and the SAMSUNG logo perpendicular to the floor, you will experience muffled or low quality sound because the unit will be resting on the speakers.

No Bass

I bought a Samsung 4k tv and wanted to match the sound system up with the same brand. Big mistake, the Sony I was replacing had a ton of bass. And it was too just the soundbar and sub. Look, is it fine, yes... but if you're looking for a strong bass system, you're better off buying something else. Trust Me!

Samsung soundbar not compatiable with 2016 SUHD TV

Audio intermitted or on 15min.s then completely off. I had an IT guy come over and he troubleshoot it. Say not compatible but if I don't screw with the settings he created I will have audio with" tv" on the soundbar setting. My tv requires a certain interfacing and nothing at all. I have to purchase this soundbar cuz my 2 year Onkyo 4k wasn't compatiable with my tv. It's been a nightmare. Feel Best Buy salesman should have warned me before that I am locked in buying another Samsung product for my tv. I purchased this one and still issues. The 8000s rear speakers are a joke. No independent volume control on speakers and they sound terrible. My flip3's usage on my old HDTV Vizio work so well but not with this system.

DTS or Dolby 5.1 sound is not played properly
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have purchased Samsung HW-K550 and SWA-8000S speakers. 2.1 Sound is played properly and Surround sound plays the sound from all the speakers. Sound is not played from all the channels when watching movies when I select sound mode as DTS-HD or 5.1 Sound track from Netflix. I can hear all background voices but not the center channel dialogs. I think Dolby or DTS sound tracks are not decoded properly by this soundbar. I am using HDMI to connect to my Blueray player and TV. Second issues is about the input selection. I can't select D-In when TV-ARC is connected not sure if there is anything we may do to fix these problems. Really bad experience with this soundbar and the rear speakers.

Not very good
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the Vizio 3.1 that has sold out since. And I purshased this one...for different rooms. Since this one was more expensive I was going to put this in living room and the vizio in my office. When I placed them side-by-side The vizio was cheaper and much much better than this. in terms of every sound metric you can think of. The sound on the samsung bar doesn't have any mid range, its way too trebble-y. the Sub is terrible, especially for it's heft. I really don't see how anyone can give this thing a good review. My only thought is they have nothing to compare this to.

Cannot control volume using the TV's remote
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Before I installed this soundbar I could control the volume on my Samsung TV using the remote provided by my cable company (Frontier). After installing the HW K550 I cannot control the volume except by using the Samsung remote that came with the soundbar. Now I have to use one remote to change channels and one remote to change volume. I plan on returning this soundbar as it does not integrate with Samsung products. Also, the bluetooth subwoofer will not pair (connect).

Really Frustrating

Unfortunately, I have had two of them and have yet to hear any sound. I ordered the first one, and the soundbar was dead out of the box. Returned that one today and exchanged it for a second unit. Exactly the same experience. I will obviously be returning this one, and I'm not sure what I will get in its place but it WON'T be a Samsung.

Very Unhappy

It would not power up at all. No lights. No audio cues. Nothing. I returned it to Best Buy and they replaced it with a new one. That one also would not power up. After two failures, I returned it to Best Buy and chose another brand altogether.

stopped less than a year from purchase
