Often background ambient noise makes it difficult to hear the conversations but Samsung has an adjustment to pull out the vocals. It works amazingly well on this model of soundbar.

Over 300 watts of power for the soundbar and subwoofer is plenty for a moderate sized room. Having everything connect wirelessly is a huge benefit as well. It even sounds great with my iPod through the bluetooth connection. Couldn't be happier!

I did the same thing to my Dad and we both had the same reaction - "OHHHHHH" "WOW". I never had a problem with the sound directly from the TV until I heard the difference with the soundbar. Now I won't be without one...

I wear hearing aids and now can watch TV (cable or streaming) at a normal volume without hurting the ears of others. It was easy to install and the sound volume can be set to be controlled from the TV remote without the separate use of the sound bar remote, which is handy.

Although the sound is acceptable, there are several issues with this sound bar. 1. When mounted correctly, the Samsung logo is upside down. 2. The unit as pictured in Best Buy online adds has a small screen in the middle of the sound bar to aide the user in setting the desired sound. The unit I was provided did not have this screen. 3. While seated, I have to hold the Samsung remote above shoulder level to adjust the sound. 4. The unit does not pair with the LG TV to adjust volume from a single remote. It would have been helpful if Best Buy sales staff had pointed this out. I understand that I could purchase a universal remote that would allow me to connect to all of my devices, but prefer to stick with either the LG or Verizon Fios remotes. I'll be headed back to Best Buy to return this unit and get an LG sound bar that will fully integrate with our TV. If you are purchasing a Samsung TV this sound bar should meet your needs.

A common misunderstanding is that customers are not placing the soundbar with the SAMSUNG logo facing up towards the ceiling. If you position the soundbar with the logo facing up, you will see the display/status panel, which will indicate the unit is on. (Refer to product photos on BestBuy.com and zoom in on the photos) It is not uncommon that customers instead are placing the bar with the logo facing them (instead of up), which results in the display being face-down on the table, hidden from sight and thus not showing that the unit is on.
