Definitely not worth the money!

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung HW-T650 Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer. I am sorry to see that you are not happy with the subwoofer.
By design, the purpose of the subwoofer is to reproduces low frequency sounds and not musical tones. It adds rich tones and deepens sound effects, like the rumbles of an explosion or the depth in bass guitars and drums.
There are two adjustments that can be made for bass and subwoofer:
1) Using the WOOFER button on the remote, you can adjust the volume of the subwoofer between -6 to +6 by toggling the button up or down. To set the subwoofer volume level to 0, press the button down
2) Adjust the bass control by pressing the SOUND CONTROL button (gear icon) on the remote control, then select BASS to increase the level. You can adjust the volume between -6 to +6 by using the Up/Down buttons.
For precise audio adjustments, you can use the 7-band frequency equalizer to optimize the sound for your room acoustics.

To optimize your audio experience, please try the various sound modes this model offers. Press the SOUND MODE button on your remote, and then select your desired sound effect: STANDARD, SURROUND SOUND, GAME, SMART, or DTS VIRTUAL:X.
You can further adjust TREBLE and BASS via the SOUND CONTROL button (looks like a gear symbol).

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung HW-T650 Soundbar and for your review. I am very sorry that you are not happy with the volume of your soundbar. Simply changing the Digital Output Audio Format to PCM can help. You may want to try changing the Digital Output Audio Format to PCM.
This can be found at Home > Settings > Sound > Expert Settings. (It can also be found in the Quick Settings.)
If your Digital Output Audio Format isn't set to PCM, like for instance if you have a Dolby option selected, then you will likely notice decreased maximum volume. Dolby options are designed for surround systems (like 5.1 or 7.1), whereas PCM provides great sound quality for stereo speakers.
If you don't have a surround system, you will probably want to select PCM. You'll get much louder volume that way, and potentially better sound quality.

A Little System with A Huge Punch!

Room dimensions: 13’x 13’ Tv size: 55” The Samsung T650 has proven to be an exceptional sound system. Setup time: 15 minutes (includes reading instructions and pairing subwoofer) I now enjoy fantastic surround sound without the wired mess. Only three wires support the system: an optical and two power cords. For the current room size, the system plays impressive. It bounces sound to a surround effect perfectly. And the bass is amazing! The bonus of this product is the option to supplement the 3.1 with two additional speakers. Those speakers would be an SWA-8500S. But for the current room extra speakers would be overkill. After moving to a new home, I decided to scale back my sound system. My past systems were the Harman Kardon 6.1 wired kind. This left me used to an intricate setup of wires and well-placed multiple speakers to achieve quality sound. However, this sound bar changed my way of thinking. Lastly, the sales clerk, Diana S., of the Union City Best Buy, was awesome! I arrived at her store to buy a Hw-T650 that was advertised online, excellent condition, marked down and available at Union City. But after an exhaustive search she couldn’t find it. To honor the deal and respect my time, she asked her manager to sell me a new Hw-T650 at the price listed online. sold!

Hey...it works

When I first hooked it up with the optical cable, there was a noticeable lag between the audio and video. It was annoying the crap out of me and throwing me way off. I switched it over to ARC and I have to say, it definitely turned things around. To me (and maybe it's just me) the quality is better with ARC connected and the lag is either gone or just not noticeable anymore. The sound bar sounds good with the right settings, and it suits my needs in an apartment living setting.
