Shuts off on its own
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Keeps shutting off and we have to physically get up and turn it off and back on. Works a few minutes then shuts ff again. Loved the sound when it worked.

It’s great when it works.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s amazing when it works but I’ve had issues with the sound fading in and out and no matter if I continue to raise the volume it still sounds faded and muffled.

Needs work!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just got this today 11/29/2020, set up was a real pain and still can't get the HDMI ARC to work. I decided to just use the optical cable they supply (wonder why?) I will see if they get back to me with a fix, when I connect using HDMI arc the tv speakers keep coming on even after I shut them down in the tv settings and the soundbar is silent. I unplugged everything and when I powered it up remote, soundbar worked great but after turning off and on tv speakers come back on and soundbar stops working? Sounds great but I really wanted the HDMI arc connection, will see what happens. Might have to return it.

Posted .Hi Gonzo,
Thank you for your review of the Samsung HW-T650 Soundbar. I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing some connection issues with this soundbar.
Please know that this model can be connected to your TV via HDMI.
Here is the step-by-step guide for your reference:
1) With the Soundbar and TV turned on, connect the HDMI cable (not supplied).
2) “TV ARC” appears in the display window of the Soundbar main unit and the Soundbar plays TV Sound.
a. If TV sound is inaudible, press the (Source) button on the remote control or on the right side of the Soundbar to switch to “D.IN” mode. The screen displays “D.IN” and “TV ARC” in sequence, and the TV sound is played.
b. If “TV ARC” does not appear in the display window of the Soundbar main unit, confirm that the cable is connected to the correct port.
c. Use the volume buttons on the TV’s remote control to change the volume on the Soundbar.
If the TV provides an ARC port, connect the HDMI cable to the HDMI IN (ARC) port. We recommend you use a coreless HDMI cable if possible. If you use a corded HDMI cable, use one whose diameter is less than 0.55 inches (14 mm). This function is not available if the HDMI cable does not support ARC.

After nearly 4 years… unusable Samsung soundbar
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s been 4 years and this soundbar will automatically rise the volume to a 100. All on its own. Can’t seem to figure how to fix it. YouTube suggests taking it apart… ugh

Nice price point, but poor wireless
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Quick summary: Very good sound, not audiophile quality, but very nice and much, much better than from the TV speakers. This is the least expensive model with true Dolby surround, but does not have Atmos (the latest Dolby version). Easy to set up. It has an ARC return HDMI port, so my one remote will turn it on/off and control the volume through the TV. The major problem is that the subwoofer only has a range of about three feet for a wireless connection. I unfortunately did not realize it until my 15 day return window was up. Now Best Buy won't help, and Samsung wants me to mail the whole thing including the sound bar. What a mess. The interesting thing is I also bought a set of wireless rear speakers and they work great 30 feet away. The learn is to test all of that very carefully immediately and return immediately.

What good is a sound bar?
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Been waiting for a nice Samsung sound bar to go with my Samsung TV. Very disappointed. It looks right nice, all the right features, and it sounds good. But my TV sounds better on it's own, than the sound bar.

Strange Performance Characteristics
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this sound bar to go with our new Samsung 65” Q80T TV. Had the Geek Squad expert do the installation with the TV. Here’s the odd thing. The sound bar sounds great (significantly better than the TV speakers) when watching regular TV but significantly worse than the TV speakers when watching streaming services (Netflix, Amazon, AppleTV). Dialogue is very flat and muffled. Just had the Geek Squad gentleman back and he confirmed our experience. He said he’s never encountered this situation before. He’d brought the same model sound bar with the intention of swapping it out if the original was defective but he said replacing it with the same model wouldn’t improve the situation. He said we need a new model sound bar and advised that I return to the store for guidance. Bottomline, don’t purchase this sound bar if you intend to pair it with the Samsung Q80T series and want sound quality better than the TV’s speakers when watching streaming content.

Posted .Hi JvilleMike,
Thank you for your review of the HW-T650 Samsung Soundbar. We appreciate your feedback regarding the unclear, flat dialogue you are experiencing with streaming apps.
Please know that with the Smart Sound Mode, your soundbar will detect what you are watching and optimize your sound.
Alternatively, you may want to consider the HW-Q60T Soundbar with Dolby Audio and DTS Virtual:X, which offers 5.1ch of audio with Acoustic Beam directional sound, as well as Q-Symphony features. When paired with your Samsung Q80T TV, Q-Symphony allows your TV and soundbar sound to synchronize together for a more immersive cinematic experience.

Terrible Subwoofer. Don't waste time and money.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I saw the bad reviews about this sound bar due to the lack of bass. I didn't believe them because Samsung clearly described this soundbar to have a powerful bass. As it turns out, the customers are right, and Samsung is wrong. Samsung grossly exaggerated the capability of its subwoofer. It is truly pathetic. I returned this sound bar and got the LG SN6Y. For a little more money, I got the sound I wanted. Learn from my experience and don't waste time and money on this one.

I am very sorry that you are not happy with the volume of your soundbar. Simply changing the Digital Output Audio Format to PCM can help. You may want to try changing the Digial Output Audio Format to PCM.
This can be found at Home > Settings > Sound > Expert Settings. (It can also be found in the Quick Settings.)
If your Digital Output Audio Format isn't set to PCM, like for instance if you have a Dolby option selected, then you will likely notice decreased maximum volume. Dolby options are designed for surround systems (like 5.1 or 7.1), whereas PCM provides great sound quality for stereo speakers.
If you don't have a surround system, you will probably want to select PCM. You'll get much louder volume that way, and potentially better sound quality.
