Noisy. Doors interfere with access to drawers

This refrigerator seems to be noisy, incessently running at a very audible sound level. I am planning on calling Samsung about it next week, as I am not sure if we can bear it. Secondly, IMHO, the design of the drawers/doors is poor. Doors open to (only) 140 degrees (page 10 of the owner's manual) which is perfectly functional for gaining access to items kept on the main shelves, but will give access to only the front half of the drawers. Thus, the drawers are designed to stop or lock at their halfway point when pulling them out...in order not to hit the doors, I suspect. Items kept in the back half of the drawers are difficult to access. Online, (not the owner's manual), we found a site which stated that in order to pull the top drawers out further, called humidity drawers, to direct the pull of either drawer towards the center of the refridgerator, which would "unlock" either of these two drawers. This works. This technique does not work on the bottom full width "pantry" drawer. In the event of removing the drawers for cleaning, a shelf (or shelves) in one or both doors would have to be removed first. If the doors opened wider, this would not be necessary. There must be a good reason for the doors to be designed to only open 140 degrees, but I do not know what that reason is.

I purchased the Samsung French door stainless steel refrigerator from Best Buy in November. Delivery went well from what I could tell at the time and I love the refrigerator. It’s now June 2020 door handle on the freezer has fallen off. You would think this is u set warranty but I’m having the most difficult time with Samsung replacing the handle. I was told it’s cosmetics and the warranty doesn’t cover this!!!! The refrigerator is less than 6 months old and the handle falls off and it’s cosmetics???? Please think twice before purchasing Samsung appliances especially when the warranty doesn’t cover replacing a door handle. You must replace the entire freezer door and you have to pay out of pocket to replace it!!!!

The refrigerator feels exceptionally small and the shelf layout makes it difficult to put bottles of most beverages without feeling like you've taken up half of the space. It's pretty enough, but if you have room for the next size up, I'd STRONGLY encourage you to buy that one.

If durability is something you're looking for in a refrigerator, do not choose this one. Although it works fine, the quality of the materials used are most certainly sub-par. After only a few months we already have two gashes in the body of the fridge. There is a crack in the body on the inside of the fridge, which coincides perfectly with the opening and closing of the left door. We are sure it happened because the doors of the fridge were installed incorrectly, which we didn't realize at the time. Samsung sent a repairperson to look at the damage, but unfortunately they claimed the damage to be cosmetic and even our extended warranty wouldn't cover it. Yes, the damage is cosmetic, but the cause of the damage was obviously from the poor door installation, certainly not our fault. A second gash happened when we dropped a can of whipped cream off a shelf in the fridge, and it landed on the bottom freezer compartment. That small can of whipped cream managed to make a nice gash right on top of the freezer. So over the course of the first six months that we owned the fridge, we had a crack and a gash, and neither was from any sort of rough handling of the appliance. A can of whipped cream causes a gash? Opening and closing the door causes a gash? Really? Our old refrigerator was 20 years old. It as on its last legs, but there were no cracks and no gashes. Stay away from this one, not only because of the poor quality materials but also because apparently Samsung does not stand behind its products.

I received my first refrigerator that was defective and did not work. Had to wait another week to receive a new one. Second one seems to be working ok. I don’t like the fact that it does not tell you the temperature, it just has a low to high bar like a cell phone would for reception. Very roomy and deep. Fits in my space well. The ice maker works well. A little too pricey, but I have a very specific, tight space with weird dimensions, so I was forced to go with this one.

Crappy ice maker is a dealbreaker

It’s a freezer/fridge. It does what it should. However, the ice maker is terrible enough that if I had it to do over, I would try a different brand. The ice maker is slow and it fills so high that every time I open the freezer, ice is pushed behind the drawer. Sometimes it ends up on the hardwood where I can pick it up, sometimes it ends up under the fridge, and most of the time it collects under the drawer where I can’t get to it. I have never seen this kind of silliness and it completely takes away from all the good of the fridge.

We aim to have this resolved, Will. Let's examine some possible remedies to get your fridge working fully.

There are a few factors that can cause an ice maker not to work. If the ice maker appears not to be making any or enough ice, low water pressure or a faulty water filter may be to blame. Please check these links for details.

Nice looking refrigerator and the French doors close easily and tight. The big drawback is the amount is amount of ice that it makes. They say between 100 and 120 cubes per 24 hours but the number is closer to 75. After several discussions with Samsung (the first call they blamed it on the delivery men because they removed the door to fit through the front door) Believe me, the ice is not in the door and it’s removal could not effect the making of ice. Other than the ice problem, it’s a great unit.

This fridge is great if you don’t have the water connection and you want a lot of space in fridge but I only gave 3 stars because supposedly it is fingerprint proof and no you can see all of the fingerprints also most fridges make a noise when the compressor is on and this noise just doesn’t sound right my old Samsung makes noise but not like this one.(it’s not loud just sounds like gears are grinding small ones)

This is my second review. My opinion has not changed. No one from your company has written to question what the exchange was between me and the people who came. I was charged an unnecessary fee to hook the water up to the fridge, and the charge to take the old fridge away was ridiculous. And now my fridge which is supposed to be brand new is making a noise. The product looks great, it has a modern design at a reasonable price! Unfortunately, I had my unit replaced twice, and will be replacing it once again. The first unit had a noise problem. It sounded like an old car, and it wouldnt stop. The second unit had a problem with the freezer, it was over-cooling. The third is making loud noises as the first one did. Fingers crossed for my new replacement! A side note, BEST BUY HAS BEEN AMAZING!! As I mentioned the design is very appealing, my mom really wants to keep it and wont let me buy her another model. BestBuy has replaced the defective units make it easy for us. Thank you BestBuy!

Ice Maker making ice too slowly.

Having some issues with the Ice Maker making ice very slowly. It is supposed to make about 120 cubes a day (1 tray every 90 minutes, 8 cubes per tray = 128 cubes per 24 hours). After Delivery and plugging it in, it took about 3 hours to make the first batch. I pressed the power freeze button and left it on all night (about 9 hours). In the morning it only had about 24 cubes. I checked the ice maker by pulling out the top tray in the freezer and I could feel the partially frozen ice in the icemaker. I checked the water line intake value and it was turned on all the way. I noticed a packing tape on the top tray of the freezer unit in the front section that was still on. Maybe this prevented some of the cold air from going in. I took off the tape and will wait to see if it begins to make more ice. I also found a small piece of packing tape on the front of the ice maker that I took off. It would have been good for the installer to let me know about removing the packing tapes in the freezer unit and the locations of the tape. Anyway, I will give it another day and will call if the ice maker continues to produce ice too slowly. Other than this, the delivery persons were great and the delivery went smoothly. All other functions of the refrigerator are great.

      Hi there,
Congratulation on your new Samsung Refrigerator. I see you are concerned with how much ice your ice maker produced on day one. Once you have the unit installed you need to allow a few days for air to pass through the water and ice lines for the unit to be at full production. There will be no issues after all air has passed through. Thank you for choosing Samsung. ^Brad Samsung

I purchase this because I have limited space in the kitchen. I got it open box with small dent, scratches, but it doesn't really bothers me. What I notice is the stiffness of the door. It's not smooth to open and makes big sound to close if I don't careful. But somehow it's not difficult for my 2yrs old to open the door... Inside layout is fine, but there's some space between the middle tray. I'm not sure if that's purposely design that way. That create some bump surface in the middle. Freezer is very specious and can contain quite of amount of stuff. Overall, it's not bad but I wouldn't choose this again in future.
