Horrible Samsung Service Do NOT buy

I purchased my Samsung refrigerator RF32FMQDBSR/AA on sale on 12/31/14. In August 2015 the ice maker froze completely closed. Samsung said there was no repair facilities and offered to exchange it. I went to Best Buy and Manager was great. Samsung said since I got the refrigerator on sale I had to pay an additional $600 for the exchange. I told them unacceptable. Samsung scheduled repair for Friday. My wife and I took off work and repair guy no showed. Samsung said repairs could not be made and they knew about it on Monday but did not call us. It is 1/2/16 and no ice maker in a refrigerator that cost over $2000. Samsung customer service is horrible. They said they offer gift cards in special circumstances but this is not one of those times. I do not want money or gift cards just a refrigerator that works.

    Looks Wonderful

Great looking, Amazing capacity, helpful shelving flexibility. I've had this for 4 months so far and no complaints. I love how it looks and am happy with the performance. One thing to note is that the water dispenser doesn't store water in the fridge. So it's not necessarily very cold.

    AWESOME FRIDGE

Samsumg has created one of the most fuctional fridges I have ever seen and I could not be any happier with my purchase! This would be worthy to go in Martha Stewart's kitchen. Pros: - 4 Doors (no pulling out and hunting for frozen food like a french door) - The lower right compartment can be converted into a fridge or freezer - Fast freezing mode re-freezes warmed up frozen foods from the grocery - LED lighting is super bright - Big ice compartment - Lots of storage for just about anything - Modern styling Cons: - Even with a door alarm, its easy to leave open doors by accident because they are not the heaviest - Non-magnetic doors (but fridge sides are!) - Requires regular cleaning to eliminate fingerprints on doors This is a big dog but I would highly recommend to anyone wanting a new fridge provided it will fit in your kitchen

Defective Ice Maker - Do Not Buy!

    Posted .

After almost a year of owning this refrigerator, the ice maker stopped working and I was unable to remove the ice bucket. I contacted Samsung to arrange for service (a long process that took almost two weeks). A very helpful technician came out and spent nearly an hour steaming the ice maker to melt the ice that had frozen the ice bucket shut. Once he removed the bucket, he informed me that the refrigerator was beyond repair and I would need to contact Samsung for a replacement. The problem has to do with a defective defroster that damaged the ice maker. According to the technician, this is a problem Samsung is aware of and has not advised consumers. I am grateful this problem occurred now while the refrigerator was still under warranty. I cannot recommend this refrigerator at all.

Slow leak after 11 months = unrepairable

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

We've owned this for 11 months when we noticed that the refrigerator wasn't keeping things cold. Called out the tech who determined that there was a slow coolant leak that eventually bled the system dry. Was then informed that it is NOT REPAIRABLE. Had we waited one more month (when the warranty expired) we would have been totally screwed. This is a $4,000 refrigerator and it would have been useless. Fortunately, we were within warranty, so I went to my local Best Buy store and they processed an exchange for a new unit. It was scheduled to be delivered on Friday, and that I would get an email Thursday evening confirming when it was to arrive. I never received an email or a call. On Friday morning I called BestBuy and they told me that the delivery got cancelled because their inventory management system showed a -1 for inventory. While talking to them, the person called over to the warehouse who confirmed they had 8 of them. So we rescheduled for Monday. Sunday night I get the confirmation email, and indeed Monday morning they show up with the refrigerator. Upon opening the box they determine that the unit is damaged. They return to the store, and the store calls me to confirm that they will deliver another one on Wednesday. Wednesday comes and goes without a refrigerator. I again call BestBuy. The person tells me that they were awaiting on confirmation of scheduling the delivery - although no one called or emailed me. This person apologizes profusely, and schedules the delivery for Thursday (tomorrow). I call BestBuy today to confirm that there are no scheduling problems, or inventory problems - and am told that the ONE refrigerator that they shipped WAS DEFECTIVE. They said that the status was "awaiting scheduling". Again, nobody bothered to call me or email me. If I didn't call them, it would still be sitting in "awaiting scheduling" status. So now, here we are having to reschedule this for a 3rd time. I was assured by "The Manager" that it will be delivered on Friday. I am concerned about a couple of things here: 1. Product Quality. My refrigerator failed. The replacement was delivered damaged. The other replacement was shipped defective. We're talking about a big-ticket item. Had this failed outside of warranty, there's nothing that can be done. I'd have been out $4,000. This many failures does not bode well for a product. Especially one as expensive as this. 2. BestBuy has really screwed this up. I understand that they can't control Samsung's quality control. But they can manage customer expectations - and not simply leave the customer sitting by the phone waiting and hoping someone will update them with a status. I am a big fan of BestBuy, and will continue shopping there, but the lesson I have learned is that they have some serious shortcomings in their delivery service. As for this model of refrigerator, if I had to do it all over, I would not purchase this one again.

We are at 1 year and 9 days of ownership (but its only been installed in our home for 11 months) and the upper portion of the refrigerator will not keep food cold. Best Buy said they can't help (they will for a fee) and Samsung has said the exact same thing. $3,000 down the tubes because I'm 9 days past warranty, even though it has only been in my home for 11 months. The ice maker has only given crushed ice the entire time, never cubed when we switched the setting. Then the ice maker froze shut and had to be completely thawed to allow access back into it. Seems to be a common problem based on other reviews. Buy another refrigerator, worst experience ever.

Don't waste your money. Bad, bad fridge.

The first fridge was delivered and installed. It was terribly noisy and after 6 hours was still not cold enough to load with my groceries. Well, it never did cool. The only compartment that worked was the left lower quadrant, the dedicated freezer. Neither the refrigerator nor the programmable chef compartment ever got cool.Thank goodness we kept the old fridge in the garage so I could cool my food. I called Best Buy and they replaced it, but it took 3 weeks because there were none in the warehouse and it had to be shipped from Illinois?!? Second fridge seemed to be fine, but after a week, the control panel went dark and the programmable chef compartment stopped cooling. Called Samsung Authorized repair. The dude came out and told me that Samsung had never provided a schematic nor any information on how to fix the refrigerator, so he had to *guess*. He pulled the whole thing apart and couldn't get anything to work. SOooo, had to wait another 2 weeks for a replacement circuit board. OK... Repair dude came out again and replaced all the circuit boards (there are four of them, I think) and the display screen was still dark and we were unable to set any control whatsoever. Repair dude apologized and said he would have to call Samsung to figure out what was wrong. Three weeks went buy (still no working fridge) and the repair dude calls and says Samsung would not authorize any more repairs on this unit. He had asked for a new chef-compartment door, but they declined. He said Samsung should be contacting me for a replacement refrigerator. Ummm, NO! I had already replaced the fridge once and the second fridge was also unable to be repaired. I wrote a very detailed letter to the CEO of samsung and after another week, they called and said they would disregard their own policy to replace the unit and give me store credit for any fridge I want. Well, three weeks later I am still waiting for that authorization. I have not had a working fridge sing August of 2014. Today is January 9, 2015 and I still don't have a working fridge and I still don't have the refund authorization from Samsung. So after two non-working fridges, they are still delaying the refund and I am sitting here in my kitchen with my OLD fridge in my garage, holding all our items. Don't buy Samsung appliances. Read my review of their waterwall dishwasher. It is the same outrageous story of failure after failure and the inability to repair their own products. Please don't disregard this review. I assure you, you will be very sorry if you buy this fridge. Still waiting..........

Is what I was hoping for

We were looking for a new refrigerator, had the itch to buy and found one on the floor which was damaged and at a good price. To we took the leap. What we liked most about the fridge was the the room, flexibility, and the ability to customize compartment temperatures. However that damaged floor model failed, resulting the freezer and fridge being unable to regulate the temperature. This was the driving force of this review. Combined Best Buy, Samsung, and the authorized Samsung repair shop all put in a great effort to fix the problem to full resolution. Together they coordinated efforts to repair and ultimately replace the fridge at no cost even though the fridge was purchased at a discounted price due to damage. There was absolutely no struggle or disappointment on my behalf. I am and have always been a fan of Best Buy and now I am a bigger fan of both Best Buy and Samsung. Thanks! BTW the replacement fridge works great and is what we expected and hoped it would be; a great fridge. Money and time well spent!

Love the size of this fridge, but that is where the love stops. We have had this fridge 16 months. The ice maker freezes up. It has now stopped making cubed ice only crushed. The latest issue and that can not be repaired is the fridge temp will not go below 48..... We are being refunded a full refund...but 4 weeks without a fridge is not fun.

Do not buy this Samsung refrigerator

My husband & I bought this beautiful refrigerator in July 2014. In August 2015, I had to report that the refrigerator was not cooling. This took 41 minutes. I lost a lot of food because of lack of cooling. I had to wait 9 days for a tech to say we needed a new control panel. We had to wait another 8 days for the control panel to be delivered. That "fix" did not solve the problem. I had another call to "customer service" that took over 43 minutes to schedule another technician to come out in another 7 days for evaluation. DO NOT BUY SAMSUNG. I wish I had been warned. The technician said this is common for Samsung. Imagine paying $4000 to $5000 and having a non-functioning refrigerator.

    Same problems experienced by others

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Experienced same problems as others. Refrigerator section not working after 8 months. Ice maker spills water near filler spout and freezes unit in place so it can't be removed. Ice eventually surrounds drive mechanism, making lots of noise and leading to breakage of mechanism. Have heard several reasons for the cause of this problem. Not sure which is true. Refrigerator uses butane (R600) as a refrigerant, which is flammable. Although apparently common in Europe, no service for this system seems to be available in the United States. This seems to be at least partially why the unit is unrepairable once the refrigerant leaks out. However, the technician made no effort to locate the point of leakage, which also may be a factor in calling it unrepairable, since the point of leakage may be inaccessible and is likely common to all these units. Have been dealing with Samsung Customer Service for a month now. Have five different Service Tag numbers. Samsung promises a credit at Best Buy within a week for replacement of the unit with a refrigerator of our choice. Waiting to see if they meet their deadline. However, need a refrigerator with the holidays coming up. Have same issue in that they are crediting the cost of the refrigerator, but not the taxes paid on the purchase. In addition, be aware that the doors on the refrigerator dent very easily. We had the doors replaced when the refrigerator was initially delivered because of dents when it arrived. Although we were careful to avoid any hard impacts to the doors, dents still appeared in no time, apparently from the vacuum cleaner brushing against the doors when cleaning the kitchen floor. Have been pleased with Samsung televisions, but this appliance has been a significant disappointment. Wife still loves the door design, the capacity, and the flexible compartment. But, would not buy this product again.

15 months and it is "NON Repairable"

The refrigerator stopped working after just a mere 15 months!! Unbelievable. After two weeks and three visits from the repairman, Samsung told the repairman that our unit is "non repairable". We are going into the weekend, and Samsung said they will get back to us by Tuesday, after reviewing all of our purchase documents, to determine if they will do anything to refund our purchase price. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED in Samsung

Samsung customer service is the worst! Fridge is still in warranty and Samsung refuses to replace it. Been about 3 weeks with out a fridge and still arguing with them! Have never had a problem with any other customer service except Samsung! The fridge isn't eco friendly so you think they want to replace it with one that is especially when a 4000 fridge only last 10 months! Stay Away you've been warned!

This is the best fridge I have ever owned. I know there are brands that cost more but this particular brand and model in my opinion ranks up there with the best. For example, I can keep a cut tomato in an container for over a week and have it still fresh..I could go on and on..It's fantastic..I'm one happy mom..

Don't buy this! The ice maker needed service within one year, within two years the fridge stopped working. Samsung could get no one to come out and service it, so Samsung gave us a full refund. What does that tell you? It is junk. I have been without a fridge for 5 days while they sorted it all out. It will probably be another 3-4 days until I get paid from Samsung. Don't buy this!

recently purchased this unit as a floor model, it hasn't worked since day 1. trying to get Samsung to replace it and they will only give a store credit and if I want this unit I have to pay the difference. my argument with them is no matter what I paid for the unit they cover it under warranty and should replace it with the exact same unit. but their reply was and I quote was if you want the exact same unit then you can pay the higher price we aren't giving you the exact same unit you can either buy a unit for the price you paid, pay the extra for the unit you purchased or TAKE YOUR MONEY AND GO ELSEWHERE!!!!! go to know there are companies out there that are doing so well they don't have to care about customers they don't need us... in no way is this towards best buy though I like shopping there.

The refrigerator is huge. It is great having everything at eye level and the lighting inside the fridge is great. No dark corners!! The freezer is plenty big for us, we also have a deep freeze. Haven't used the option of using half the freezer as more fridge space but may do that with the holidays. We measured several times as this fridge does not fit in your normal space. It is extremely tall so make sure you have enough height to accomadate that. The cabinets above the fridge are useless now, we can't reach them without a stool and we are both tall! The ice and water dispenser area is tall enough to accomadate taller glasses, no more tilting them and hoping the water actually goes into the glass! Best Buy delivery guys were great!

Yes it is big but has major issues in design. Icemaker makes basically crushed ice or smaller crushed ice from day one. The upper left door has a folding sealing piece that wears out after very little use. Called for a repair guess what that isn't covered anymore than the icemaker that freezes up every couple months. They tell you to thaw it with a hair dryer or something. Called for service after less than a year they kept giving me the run around said they called but they didn't nothing seems to be covered unless it stops working. Gave up on rescheduling I'm just stuck with a high dollar refrigerator that doesn't work as well as a $300 used fridge out of CL. This is no way my best buy.

Samsung giving tough time for the refund. Samsung is asking to cut the cord and send a photo. Since the lower part is working, I don't want to cut the cord, as the lower part is what we have been using for about 2-weeks, since we reported the issue. It took Samsung repair 4-days to come see it. They determined that this unit has cooling system leak, which is under warrantee and promised to refund the price. I asked for a replacement, but they refused. I submitted the documentation they wanted, except the photo for the cut cord, as we will have no refrigerator if I cut the cord. I have more than 40 rentals where I use ~$500 refrigerators. I NEVER had a unit failed within this time frame.
