Big Disappointment

First, I was told I would get it before fathers day. It got here 4 days AFTER fathers day. Next, I bought it to get sling tv. It will not run that app at all.

Picture quality is stunning
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the UN32N5300 1080p HDTV a month ago from Best Buy and it is performing well for us. It replaced a 12 year-old Samsung 720p LCD that still works but unfortunately has developed shadows at some places on the screen. It took less than 10 minutes to unbox the UN32N5300 and screw the two feet onto the bottom of the frame. At first power-up it was immediately apparent that the picture quality of the new Samsung is incredibly beautiful with vivid colors and realism using the pre-configured "Natural" picture setting. It took about 15 minutes to run through the menu items to set everything up the way we wanted. In my opinion, this is probably the best value HDTV for most people and if I was only judging the picture quality, this would be an easy 5 star rating. I will echo the comments of others that the sound quality of the internal speakers is horrible, even with repeated attempts to tweak the software mulit-band EQ in the Sound menu. At best, it sounds like a transistor radio sitting at the bottom of an aluminum garbage can, but since I use a Samsung HW-N400 soundbar that's a non-issue for me. I dropped my rating to 4 stars because initially, the UN32N5300 HDTV kept dropping my Samsung HW-N400 soundbar after an hour or two of operation. (Note that the HW-N400 soundbar never dropped when connected to my Samsung UN32J5500 HDTV.) The "connection dropping" problem occurred with the soundbar connected through the optical cable and also when connected through the HDMI ARC connection. Since the UN32N5300 has no analog audio jack and no Bluetooth speaker connection ability to pair with the soundbar, other connection options were not available. Note that when using the internal speakers of the UN32N5300 the internal speakers never dropped out, so this was a connection issue between the TV and the soundbar. I found that to restore the connection it was necessary to enter the UN32N5300 menu through Settings>Support>Self Diagnosis>Sound Test. Running the Sound Test re-initalized the connection between the TV and soundbar and it would run fine for a few hours before dropping again. I updated the firmware of the TV from 1204 to 1251, and then to 1262 which came out a few days later, but that did not resolve the issue. I attempted to update the soundbar's firmware but got the same "No Data" error that many others have reported when attempting to update the Samsung HW-N400 soundbar. Fortunately, as it turns out, adjusting the Audio Delay in the UN32N5300 Sound Menu has resolved the soundbar dropping issue completely. I synched the audio and picture by adjusting the default 70ms delay to 40ms and the soundbar has not been dropped for weeks, even after extended day-long watching. I'm not sure why adjusting the Audio Delay would prevent the connection from dropping, but I'm glad it did. In conclusion, with the excellent audio quality that is experienced when using the soundbar and with the connection issue now resolved, I am very satisfied with the performance of the UN32N5300 HDTV and the Samsung HW-N400 soundbar. It's a pleasure to view movies, sports, and other content through the cable company's STB or when streaming Amazon Prime, Netlix, or my Plex Media Server through my Roku.

Arrived with bad capacitor
