Nice TV, but lacking sleep button on remote

The TV has a nice picture, is very light, and mounted on my bedroom wall with no issues. So as far as the TV itself goes, I am happy. What I am disappointed about is the lack of a "sleep" button on the remote control. I bought this for my bedroom and I frequently fall asleep with the TV on, so i set the sleep timer. What used to be one click of a button on my Sharp TV remote, is now an ordeal of navigating into the numerous submenus to enable the sleep function (in the dark on an unlit non-user friendly remote). After googling it, I realized that Samsung is unfortunately doing away with the sleep button on their remotes. I then tried connecting it to SmartThings to see if I can accomplish what I needed through automation, but SmartThings is acting very flaky (and always has for me, seems like it's still not ready for prime time). So, I'm stuck with setting a hard shut-off time of 12am, and when I need to sleep timer it sooner, I have to do it manually through the settings menu. I do hope that Samsung brings the sleep button back to their remotes.

The picture quality/clarity is wonderful; in fact it is more viewer friendly than the really large TV in the living room. Perfect for small space in the office. Easy to unpack and just plug in. Priced 32 inch models in Target, Costco, and online before selecting Best Buy. Good Deal!

Bought this as my bedroom TV. Has an overall great picture, reasonably good sound quality (especially for the price) and some more high end features (HDR and multiple inputs) although it does lack Bluetooth and only has a digital sound output to attach a sound bar. Was easy to set up and program with all my streaming services. There are also channels provided by Samsung. I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

I bought this to replace a bedroom device. I wanted to go Samsung becuase of their quality, and I have a samsung phone which I wanted to integrate with. Everything turned out very well. The quality of the display is amazing, and I'm extremely happy with the color and shading of the TV, it vibrant and black levels are really good. The thing about this TV is that the newer 2018 TV software is on point, fast and covers pretty much everything from youtube, to HBO and on. The wireless networking is a breeze to setup and the quad cores in this thing make it snappy fast an responsive to input and moving around the gui. Mounting is a breeze. I use a non-typical articulated arm mount, which can lay back against the wall if wanted, but I like to have it positioned in a way that I can control the tilt and other adjustments depending on where I've decided to be in the room. The incredibly light aspect of this TV is a huge benefit for those that want to have an articulated adjustable wall mount, or have control over its position away from the wall. I thought something was wrong when I got the delivery, because of how light it is! IMHO, 4k UHD isn't necessary if you are hanging it on a wall on the other side of the room, or at least have the smaller TVs closer to you - your perception will not see those fine details unless you get the huge TV on your wall, or at least have a smaller one very close. There is a chart out there that recommends viewing distance for UHD and beyond displays, beyond that distance your eyes aren't really seeing what you paid for. Summary: Absolutely no issues. Software and wireless connectivity are really snappy, fast and encompasses pretty much all the the streaming sites out there. The lightness of the TV makes mounting easy, and the the last reason - Quality: The screen is amazing and the color and how it handles shading is what I have come to expect from Samsung devices. I don't think you could go wrong unless you bought it but wanted UHD instead. Its a nice peice of technology and does 1920x1080 with ease.

We purchased in early December and got great price - around $200 - price increased by $40 closer to Christmas. Good picture but found we use dynamic mode all the time as other modes too dark. Sound is great. Purchased an antenna for under $50 to get local channels. Antenna has 50 mile range but we should have paid more for 100 mile range one. Channels that come with Samsungs TV Plus are ok for us who only had local channels up until now...not awesome. We are Amazon prime members so we stream Prime video which is actually great. Unable to get Philo service with this tv as apparently not compatsblr. Remote control is a pain. It is very small, lightweight and easy to drop. Buttons so small you hit a lot of them accidentally. Wish remote had lit buttons - have to turn on lights to use. Setup of tv, cables, DVD player and antenna was very smooth. We like the 32 inch TVs as they are so much cheaper and very portable. We have purchased other Samsung items and never had issues.

This is a great little TV, I use it as a computer monitor. And when my computer is not on, I use it for streaming. I wish I got the 32" 4K version, but this TV is fine, it fits perfectly on my desk. Good value, good price, easy to use, easy to set up, and it's a Samsung so I know it'll last.

Good picture, problems with sound output

I have multiple Samsung TVs and have always liked the brand. I needed a smaller TV to fit in my kitchen. The choices are limited for smaller models that support 1080p video. The low profile and support for 1080p were driving factors in my choice of this TV. The picture quality is great. The problem with the smaller flat screen TVs, is the sound quality is not great. I purchased a Bose sound bar to augment the sound. The sound bar is connected to the optical output. I need to unplug the TV to reboot it once every couple of days to clear the static coming from the optical cable to the sound bar as indicated in the troubleshooting guide. I tried multiple optical cables. I returned the 1st TV, thinking the optical output was bad. It is when I got the 2nd TV, that I discovered the need to reboot on occasion. It is annoying, but I have not found another TV with the 1080p picture quality that fits the space. Overall I like the TV and the "smart" features.

I will not waste your time with the story of how or why I came to own this TV. What you NEED to know is in the title, and that this set has a COMPONENT input. If you own a Time Sleuth and are looking for an experiment, get this TV!! The image is nice, but nothing crazy - a very noticable improvement over the 720p 32” inch TVs near the same price point. I think this set is simply line-doubling 240p signals because it behaves the same way my other 1080p monitors do (stretches the 480p input to widescreen) when fed with Retrotink/Faroudja line doublers. You can set the picture to 4:3 easily enough in the settings (turn off auto lighting and other feautures and your OS will speed up). You may not have the ability to manipulate the image like you can with fancy scalers, but the latency doesnt lie. I beat Gimmick! with only 2 deaths. I don’t need a Time Sleuth (want one real bad) to know how good the input lag on this set is compared to how a typical TV - expensive or not - handles 240p, analoge video content. I am not a great gamer, but am decent enough to beat that game on CRT or line doublers with Game Mode turned on. On anything less than that, I will get extremely frustrated with the experience. I was literally in shock while breezing through the game before even looking for Game Mode. Still need to see if you can enable it on the Component input. But even if you can’t, you wouldn’t need it anyway. Beyond my story, here is the only evidence I can offer for my claim: the “film” mode is only available when 480i and up sources are active; film mode is not available when I fed it 240p sources………….. What is going on with this TV?!?! Came out in 2018… would make sense for Samsung to release a set JUST like this at that time. How in the world did they not manage to not tell anyone about it??? Please, somebody, if you’re reading this Best Buy Review, you’re interested in “retro” gaming, and you have the means to lag test this set - DO IT. It’s most definitely worth your time and effort. I hope to do just that ASAP. Like others have said, the sound isn’t great. However, if you find this on a deal for $99 - or get this Excellent Open Box, like I did for $91 - it’s an obvious buy. If I was giving the gift of “retro” gaming to someone who couldn’t afford the hobby, with limited resources and space: pair this set with a used Genesis or Super Nintendo from shopgoodwill or shopgoodwill and splurge on an HD Retrovision component cable instead of a scaler. Maybe a small, refurbished sound bar (can find them for nearly $30 online)… Search for Triad power supplies and pick one up while you’re at it from the bigger retro retailers. I hope more people put this little jack-of-all-trades set through its paces. Gotta let Samsung/Best Buy know we will buy TVs that incorporate this feature! If they came out with this set + QD…

I wanted a smart TV for my kitchen. I am very picky and never rush to buy anything. I already have 7 smart Samsung TVs and all have been excellent and reliable. I wanted one for my kitchen breakfast area and was limited by rhe size of the space. The dimensions of this model were perfect with only a quarter inch to spare. I read all the reviews on Best Buy and Amazon and many of them were not good and made me hold off on buyjng this. After much thought I decided to buy it since it was the only smart TV I could find for this space. I was especially concerned about the reviews saying it turned off by itself and then wouldn’t turn off. Best Buy had the best price and I like the fact that I can take it back to them if there are any problems. I ordered it online for store pickup. Very easy buying process! Got it home. It fit perfectly. Setup was very simple. Connected quickly to my wifi. I did a few minor color adjustments to suit my tastes. One previous review I read mentioned to “update” the software. I did that immediately. This TV has been exceptional. I have had no problems or issues. I have not had an issues with the TV turning off by itself or refusing to turn off like others did. The picture is outstanding, and the sound quality is very good (I believe it is 10 watts/speakers—-many this size are only 5 watts). I am extremely pleased. It readily connects to wifi for netflix/amazon etc. as well as Charter Spectrum cable. There are some brands of smart TVs that do not “play” well with Charter Spectrum. Samsung and Charter Spectrum work seemlessly together as far as “apps” etc. One negative I will point out is: the remote. It is about the cheapest feeling remote I have ever used. When you push a button sometimes nothing happens! You have to push the buttons pretty hard for them to work. I ordered another remote (same model) from Samsung —-$9 and it works just as cheaply. Unless you are a heavy channel surfer the remote is a minor issue—/it does work. For most of my watching I use my cable remote and really don’t use the Samsung remote that much. In summary: I don’t think one can find a better smart TV in this size class with a better picture or sound. And the price at Best Buy could not be beat anywhere.

This is a great SMART TV from SAMSUNG when you do not have a lot of distance between your seat the the TV. Also this does not need a large tv stand since the distance between the legs is much smaller than a 50 inch tv. CRISP full HD (not 4K, and not the lower 720p). Has most of the apps you will want. You can download others. Has decent sound for its size. It is lightweight. You might be able to find a larger set at BEST BUY for a little more money, but 32 inches is working fine.

I love Samsung and finding this tv on sale at Best Buy was a much needed addition to my home. I always check Best Buy for great sales. An upon seeing this I couldn’t pass it up. It’s the perfect size for my guest room, Full HD, then with Samsung smart hub I got tons of free channels. It’s lightweight and a great bargain for the price. The only thing I didn’t really like about it was sitting the stand up it takes two small screws for each leg and if you don’t screw them precise it’s very hard to get the legs to stand the TV straight up. Other than that I love everything about it.

Love how light this tv is to move. It took a little effort to screw in the leg screws, but once I connected my antenna, it scanned immediately. Have more channels than the Insignia tv previously using. Plus this is a regular remote with actual numbers, so I can switch channels easily. Easy to sign into my Amazon Fire account. The picture and sound are great. Just happened to catch a fantastic sale after Christmas and couldn’t be happier. Perfect size for my small living room. Highly recommend this tv.

We love our new TV! Our last TV was a very old Sony and it finally failed after about 25 years! We wanted a TV that gave a great picture and was easy to operate. The Samsung was perfect. It fit nicely into our entertainment center, and we have enjoyed watching it for the last few weeks. The associate we worked with, Derek, was so helpful in helping us choose the right TV. Thanks to Derek and all the staff at Best Buy for doing such a good job and for being so pleasant and knowledgable.
