Customers admire the 32" M80B UHD Smart Monitor's large screen size and excellent camera quality, frequently praising the crisp resolution and sleek design. However, some users express dissatisfaction with the limited port selection, particularly the micro-HDMI port and the performance of the built-in speakers. So I bought two of these monitors in Samsungs recent sale. They were substantially reduced to $400 each. I decided to take the plunge after seeing all the reviews proclaiming that these monitors blew all these YouTubers away.
Honestly, these monitors are a bit of a mixed bag all the way around and for every feature you love, there are two that Samsung hadn't accounted for. In the end, a monitor with these specs should not be struggling to find value.
Here are the pros...
* The Image Quality is crisp and clean.
* They have 65 watts of Power Delivery through USB-C.
* Using these with a Mac has been a pleasant experience overall.
* The Stand is solid for being mostly plastic.
* Having smart features is cool, if don't correctly.
* The included camera quality is very good.
* The included webcams have a cool little magnetic cap.
* Text is sharp and extremely easy to read.
* AirPlay 2 works great.
Here are the cons...
* If you try to use two of these at the same time, the remote will shut both displays off, even if another device is using the other one.
* The house of the panel is so cheap, I would believe it came from a cheap knock-off maker and never suspected a big-name company to use such cheap materials.
* They went crazy cheap and used a Micro-HDMI port, then included a Micro-HDMI to HDMI cable (I guarantee this thing will break before long).
* There are only two ports for connectivity, a USB-C, and Micro-HDMI. This stinks if all your Desktop has is one HDMI and 3 Display Port connections.
* AirPlay might work great, but WiDi from a PC is garbage with this thing.
* Built-in speakers are just plain bad! To make matters worse, there's no 3.5mm Jack to connect your speakers to. You can use Bluetooth, but you have to authorize the reconnection every time you wake your computer up from sleep mode.
* Multiview is horrible trash! You can't specify the area you want to set up, nope! Instead, you get a small screen on the right or left side of the monitor for each connection.
* Input settings are a real problem, as the home screen doesn't show you actual connections! Nope, those are the wireless display options, that you might not even be using.
* If you don't have a sturdy desk, these monitors are going to shake like crazy!
The idea of having two sharp-looking monitors side by side and using a single cable setup for my work and home laptops was quite appealing, but Samsung rained on that parade with a series of poor design decisions.
Thanks to these monitors, I'm literally at the point where I don't even want to try another Samsung Monitor ever, as they have no clue what they're doing with these designs.
I just wish that they would stop playing around and just copy Apple if that's what they're going for because this isn't working!
Do Not Buy these Monitors for even half the retail price, as I doubt they cost more than a buck fifty to make them and Samsung launching for $700 is bogus!

The Samsung 32” M80B UHD Smart Monitor is a game-changer for my home office. The picture quality is exceptional, and the built-in streaming TV feature is a convenient bonus. Plus, the slim and elegant design adds a touch of sophistication to my workspace.

Love this monitor! The 4K screen looks amazing, the built-in streaming apps are super convenient, and the camera works great for video calls. Not the best for serious gaming, but perfect for work and everyday use.

So I have been using this monitor for a little over a week now and I have some thoughts. I am using this device 40% of the time as a monitor, 40% as a TV/Streamer and 20% for playing games (to give you a reference).
As a monitor its fine. I do general office work, its fine for that. I use both wired and wireless. There is an almost not noticeable amount of lag when on wifi (we have a good wifi setup) when it comes to general office work. However, video editing and that its just a tad bit more noticeable so sometimes I USB-C as well. Its a perfectly fine monitor, nothing worth spending $600 on if you're only going to use it for office work but it doesn't disappoint here.
TV/Streamer - As a TV its also pretty good but not the best. If you're like me and are going to use it as a monitor and keep it close to your face, as a TV you're going to notice a few things real quick. Its DPI or pixel density isn't mind blowing. When I move back to a couch (in the same room) it feels great again, but up close you'll notice its not the sharpest. The contrast and picture quality are very good though so no issues there. While its 60fps it has that slick samsung software/feature that gives its a smoother experience than some 60fps 4k panels under the right circumstances. In terms of the streaming its... fine. Most of the major streaming services have apps available for direct download (ie Netflix, HBO, etc). Some of the more obscure or things like XBOX cloud are not available (at least at the time of writing). I do have a supplemental streamer attached too which works fine for the fringe things, but at $600 the absence of some of these apps feels a little ouch.
My biggest, biggest complaint and while I wouldn't say its a deal breaker, it definitely cost this puppy a star is its UI performance. Ive tried a lot of ways to work around it but there is just an unignorable amount of lag and delay when navigating the menus and options. Sometimes it can take several seconds to complete the action you've put into the remote. The Smart Things App on a phone is actually quicker responding than the physical remote that comes with the TV/Monitor. Now, if all you're doing is pulling out the remote and clicking the second monitor option, great this isn't a problem. But when you're navigating through streaming apps or finding a movie and you have to wait 3 seconds between each button push, it becomes a much more noticeable issue.
Gaming: As a gaming screen its fine. 60fps is fine in 95% of console gaming experiences. When gaming on PC if you have a high frame rate rig, this probably isn't for you, but even the M/S refresh speed didn't bother me, though its no gaming monitor.
There you have it, my thoughts, follow me for more tips, just kidding i think this is the only review I've ever written on Best Buy.

This monitor is amazing! I use it for Mac mini monitor/tv/ps5 monitor! It really is a smart monitor. Even comes with actual tv channels no subscription required! The camera it comes with is great for FaceTime/zoom meetings. Only down side and reason for 4 stars is because right after I bought it, it dropped in price. Which is upsetting because I could of saved money.

Seen some negative reviews on this monitor and really wanted to try it so I bought an open box at Best Buy to give it a try. I have a MB Pro m2 plugged it into the monitor and with a couple of color tweaks it works perfectly and has now daily for over a month. This monitor has excellent color, very good brightness and match's the pro screen ++ it has all the other features. I think its the best multi purpose or even single purpose monitor out there now at this price.

I love this monitor. It is excellent in every way. I use it with my mac mini and I cannot say enough about the way it works, so seamlessly! I love the color accuracy and the clarity of the screen and writing for long periods of time is a pleasure for me now. The size is perfect and I love the tv/media functions and using the remote control. The included web cam is a very nice plus for the money. I am so happy with my decision to make this purchase. Everything you need comes in the box!

I have been using this monitor for around 10 months now, and so far it was perfect for me, using it as my main monitor since I connected my laptop with it. Also, I am using it as my TV, watching Netflix, and listening to Spotify. I have yet to try the camera in the future

I wanted to upgrade my Apple desktop but wanted a larger screen. Saw tons of reviews on TikTok and so here I go to purchase this monitor at my nearest Best Buy and I love it. No regrets. Has an Apple vibe at a better price point and doubles as a tv…delightful.

Amazing monitor; perfect addition to our new home.
Extremely elegant and easy to use. Monitor is almost perfect; they just didn't manage to place a wired audio jack but definitely not a deal breaker. Samsung is kicking Apple's but with this item since is a fraction of the price of one of their monitors.

My wife needed a larger monitor when she works from home. She got the M8 on her 3rd try as the first 2 M7's did not work at all. The M8 is working incredibly well, and interfaces with her work windows computer and all of her personal apple computers.

A Very Good Monitor/TV Turns Great

Great 4K monitor. Works well with my M1 MacBookPro. As a TV, I have watched only a few things, but Stranger Things S4 V2 was visually stunning and the sound is a cut or two above built-ins in small monitors. Remote works well, but I have the best results with the sound using Samsung's Smart Things app on my iPhone.
This is a very good Monitor/TV, but what makes it great is the price. I paid full price ($700), and I got a bargain. If you can do better on the price, then it is an even better deal for you.

I've had this monitor for a couple of days. I was excited to use this for my work from home setup so that I could get dual-use from this large screen.
All the reviews on YouTube are gushing with positivity and now I know they're just paid shill reviews.
Summary: if you want something for your work from home setup that has dual-functions, just get a monitor with speakers and a streaming tv stick....and save hundreds.
Positives:
- Design is nice
Negatives:
- The interface is excruciatingly slow, basically like any normal smart TV.
- The case is all plastic and looks nice but feels super cheap. Theres large gaps in the case and when attached to the included stand, the monitor wobbles non-stop as you are typing.
- Was looking forward to the integrated smart hub since my smarthings hub died...however, setting it up could not be more difficult. I had to reset the monitor three times and currently, my devices are showing up on the TV but now have completely disappeared from my phone. Not sure how this is possible but whatever. Essentially my smart things devices are not synced at all anymore between the M8 and My S22 Ultra. Great.
- There's no way to fully customize the content this thing throws on your "Home Screen".
- I'm not a gamer so I would prefer to have the gaming section gone...not possible.
- The final straw has to do with the sluggish interface. When using multi-view, the interface just locks up for seconds at a time so I'm unable to do anything.
- Stuff I knew ahead of time but still: there are only TWO inputs, a USB-C and a Micro-HDMI (really?) Cables are included but why do this?
- The power supply for this monitor is a huge brick. This is normal for Samsung but most are comparing this to something like a Apple Studio display that has a built in power supply.
I haven't completely decided if I want to return this but I'm pretty sure I will eventually. My suggestion is to get a nice 32in monitor with built in speakers and glue a Google TV stick to it if you need that.
