Very bad item

Poor quality

Very poor quality. Do not buy. Best Buy will not allow returns or exchanges and there is no recalls. Several people are experiencing the same issue.

Expensive trash

Only to find out that I am passed my warranty period and have to pay $500 to get it repaired plus the cost of materials. BOGUS. Stupid product do not buy Samsung!!! expensive and not worth it keep things simple as they have obviously messed things up with technology. TRASH!

Don’t buy a Samsung kitchen appliance

Tried to get it replaced/repaired and Samsung refused. I spent hours on the phone trying to get this problem resolved and the company was completely dismissive.

Broken review process

The cooktop may be great but being hounded for a review for something we didn't end up with is STUPID.

Looks Nice, Gets Hot, Not Durable

Pros: Attractive design; good variety of burner options; lighted dials a nice feature. Con: The finish coating of the burner grates chipped off in several places after only a few months of very light use and only gentle soap and water cleaning. As a result, the base metal rusted, making our attractive new cooktop look terrible. Samsung refused to cover the defect under warranty, claiming it was a "cosmetic issue." A scratch or dent is a "cosmetic issue." When the poorly engineered product begins failing to the point of rust in less than six months , affecting long-term useability, it is more than "cosmetic." In comparison, the Frigidaire cooktop this unit replaced experienced no issues ("cosmetic" or otherwise) in over 20 years of use. I definitely cannot recommend this product, and I am very glad we did not purchase any other higher tech Samsung products when we replaced $20k of kitchen appliances. Defective product and a company that will not back it up.

Somewhat disappointing

It does get heavy use, but the heavy grates belie how delicate the unit really is. The ignition on the center burner works only intermittently (not sure if the problem was a spill or overly zealous cleaning by our cleaning lady). The front panel is now severely discolored because she used the wrong solution on it. Yes, there are warnings about using strong cleaning solutions, but the general impression we have is that the cooktop is surprisingly delicate for something that's supposed to be heavy-duty. Also, the rubber rings on the controls are now loose and floppy. On the plus side, the power range of the center burner is impressive, and I love the included wok ring and griddle.

Faulty Temperature Control Knobs

After a few years of owning this cooktop, the temperature control knobs have completely worn out. There is a shoddily built plastic component underneath each knob which breaks with normal use. At nearly $200 apiece, in order to replace the knobs on this cooktop (and trust me, you will), you will practically spend the same amount of money you spent on the whole unit. I currently have two operable knobs out of five. Replacing 5 knobs is almost the cost of a new cooktop. Samsung has to and must do better by their cutosmers. My whole kitchen is Samsung appliances and I feel very frustrated and upset by the quality of this product.

Umm - so so!

They lose color with a slight rub of cooking-utensils. Within a span of two weeks, it got discolored and wasn't looking new anymore. Having spent so much money, I expect the finish to last for a longer duration atleast. Also, the middle-burner stopped igniting with the electrical-spark, which was the sole reason we had replaced our older-cooktop. No complaints about Bestbuy though!

Cheap plastic knob assembly that is $$$ to replace

It costs @200 for each knob to replace. If you bought 5 you would spend almost as much as you did for the cooktop. To say I am disappointed is an understatement.

DO NOT buy this cooktop!

Looked good in the store, but when we started to use it we realized how much heat is lost because the pans sit so far from the flame. The knobs in this are a DISASTER too - two of the stems broke within a few months, and within 2 years we had only two operating burners with taped together knobs and the other knobs too far gone. Replacement knobs are $150 each! BEWARE of this ripoff!
