Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.After only a little over 2 years of owning this fridge the fan has started making a gringing noice, ice maker rarely works and fridge doesnt get as cool as it should. Fan stopped working a couple days ago after days of a loud noise. Tried defrosting and leveling, no luck. Will never purchase a samsung fridge again. I'm being told whirlpool is the only brand worth buying anymore.

I would describe it as static and gurgling noises. They happen when the ice maker is off, when all the doors are open or closed. It happens about once a day, random times and embarrassingly loud. Geek squad can’t figure it out and Samsung has a whole litany of excuses and hoops to jump through to get them to even look at it. I have had the fridge just under a year...I don’t recommend this brand.

In fact, new fridges may be louder as they settle into place. Still, noises from your ice maker or the compressor should never get so loud that it's interrupting a conversation.

I had a technician from Geek Squad look at it. He said it had something to do with the temperature being too warm. He changed it and emptied out the ice container. It was better for a few days, but now I'm experiencing the same problem. In addition, the storage shelves on the upper left side are so narrow (to accommodate the ice maker) that most of the space is unusable. I was really disappointed in the total storage space of the shelves.
