Just a few days after giving away a larger living room tv to a friend, my 37" Samsung in the bedroom died. I didn't want anything overwhelming - so this 40" fit the bill perfectly. It's not classified as "smart" but attaching a smart dvd player gave me access to all those options, and it cost $200 less than the smart one. Picture is great and the sound is way better than the 37" was. I'd recommend this to anyone needing a good bedroom tv.

I decided to buy this as a secondary TV for the downstairs family room. The old one just wasn’t cutting it any more. From the second I turned it on, I was very pleased with the quality. The viewing experience is very pleasant and strong for a non-4K model. The size of the TV is perfect for our situation and I am very happy with the purchase.

Bought this TV on Black Friday as a gift for my mom. The picture is clean and clear. I can't believe that I was able to get a 40" Samsung for under $300. Of course, she's not using any other devices with the tv, so I'm not sure how that would change the review. But the picture is just fine and that's all she cares about. Great value from my standpoint.

I have already purchased a Samsung 4K 65" tv and was very pleased with that one so when I was looking for a new tv for our bedroom Samsung was the only way to go for us. We originally bought a Sony and was greatly disappointed by that defective tv. We fought for 6 months over a refund with Sony so Samsung is the only way we would ever go.
