I had a previous Samsung TV and needed to get a new one. After reading tons of reviews, I decided to try this one out. It's a great TV if you aren't looking for a Smart TV.

B&H would not let me sh_t on this tv so I'll try here and on Samsungs site. Samsung has misled that good sound is capable from this set without an hdmi receiver. It will not pass a 5.1 audio out of its optical out unless OTA!. This tv is good for use with hdmi receivers or roof antennas unless you don't mind 2.0 stereo. If you force me to adopt and spend more money instead of play nice i will tell the world. I wonder how sony got around this? Maybe paid dolby off? Ridiculous Samsung.

This is good hdtv with relatively cheaper price (got it for ~$270). Nice picture clarity.

sound sucks with built in speakers . had to buy sound bar . only 1output that uses optical so you need adapter $$$ andwire$$$to add anything like headphones etc . then you have to move the only output wire to whatever you want to use.last samsung I ever buy.

I have 3 Samsung TVs and have given several of them to my kids over the years - never a complaint on any of them, love them! We got this one for my elderly mother, though, and I must say it is a dud. Color is awful, and when you adjust it and turn it on again the color is all messed up. We are constantly adjusting it, so frustrating! Maybe this just happens to be the one lemon, but I'm not sure I'd take a chance. Going to replace this one after only five months.

TV could of been better, I understand the price but still, view sonic tv with same specs had better look than this product but it's been running well for the better part

I read all the reviews. I bought this Samsung 40" LED because I had a 10 ten year old Samsung 40" LCD that always had good picture quality and I expected that the new LED model would have as good or better picture. But, not so. I would gladly have paid more for a tv with a decent picture. At least now No kind of Samsung will be in my future. Buyer Beware.

Good picture and sound, but antenna does not pick up all major networks. FYI no headphone jack

Sound is not good and I am unable to connect to an external speaker as they dont have 3.55m jack available
