Great picture, awful software
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.As a 4K TV, the picture looks decent for Samsung's low tier offering. Actually more pleased with the picture quality than on a mid tier Sony I had. The problems come into play with Samsung's Smart TV software. There was a notification that Samsung's Checkout Service was down from 6/21 to 6/22. This notification pops up once an hour every single day since 6/21 and it's not going away. Following through support and forum links and Samsung has no solution for their customers on this other than to factory reset and not sign in with your Samsung Account. You can try to Delete the Notification but it will come back in an hour and continue to be disruptive to your viewing. It never goes away. Had I not tossed the box out this TV would be getting returned. If Samsung happens to patch this annoying error than I will be fair and update my review, but as it is this TV is more bothersome than enjoyable.

GREAT TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I REALLY LOVE THIS TV IT'S GREAT FOR MY BEDROOM AND THE SOUND IS AMAZING FOR A FLAT SCREEN, SOUNDS EVEN LOUDER THEN MY OLD SAMSUNG I BROUGHT FROM BEST BUY 9 YEARS AGO, BUT MY ONLY PROBLEM IS I'M VERY A TIME TRYING TO GET THE COLOR RIGHT HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS PROBLEM ? IF SO PLEASE HELP ME I'M BOUT TO LOSE MY MIND LOL, IF I CAN'T GET IT RIGHT I MIGHT NEED TO TAKE IT BACK AND I SOOO DON'T WANNA DO THAT.

great TV

I bought a soundbar but ended up returning it because the audio quality is fine for a bedroom setting.I usually buy Sony and this is my first Samsung. I made a good choice.

Terrible!

I've purchased several other 4k tvs and set them up myself, all of them being 55 inches, and never had a single problem with them. To begin with I fought with the screws for the stand for an hour because they either were the wrong size or the holes were drilled too small. So to date the screws won't go in all the way and stick out about 1/4 inch. The stand itself is flimsy and cheap and so I have to be careful to touch or move the TV itself with the screws being the way they are. I tried to remove them but they won't budge and I don't want it wall mounted. By the time I got everything set up I was rather annoyed by the cheap and ridiculous remote control that was included in the package. Let's not get started on the TV dropping wifi right off the bat even after entering my password and getting a success, two minutes later it is like the TV forgot that ever happened and now won't even accept my wifi information at all. Previously I had a 55 inch Sony 4k in the same bedroom and didn't have wifi problems at all. I really wish I could return this Tv, but at this point I think it is too late.

Poor Picture Quality

After returning the first unit due to a bad screen (Best Buy customer service was excellent and made the change with no hassle). I had to wait a few weeks after receiving the new TV to transport it to my beach home. I was surprised that the pixels are visible from across the room resulting in a blurry picture. Using the same Comcast input my 10 year old Sony-- which is not a 4k TV-- has a much sharper picture. Unfortunately with the travel time, I was unable to return the unit as the 15 day return policy had expired. My fault for not checking sooner.

No 4k or hdr

But this tv would not do 4k on netflix or youtube or any built in apps. Only would do 2k on YouTube only after the latest update but it struggled to do that. Then netflix only 720p may 1080p at times. Not my internet speeds around 29 mbps att uverse fiber line.The ku6290 well do the 4k right away on youtube and netflix. Also on ps4 with hdr is completely dim and washed out.on ku 6290 it actually gets really bright and colorful. Called samsung to see if they were going to or had a update to fix and she looked for firmware update and the tv had the latest. She said it was definitely somthing wrong with the tv to take it back. She said she would pass it along to higher ups but did not know if it would ever be fixed. So essential your buying a new 2017 tv that can't even do 4k and is alot worsè then last year's modal. Also to top it off I returned tv. as I was told do by samsung and was warned I would not be allowed any more returns. I thank because the lady at desk didn't even mark it defective. She admited it after all was done. This was the 4th tv I have returned do to being defective. Best buy needs to sell better quality stuff and treat there customers better. I Would have liked to exchange tv to see if another one worked right but well not do that not being able to return if it does same thing.

Don't Buy!

Not even a menu/tools button! TV quality ok, but the hassles of navigating the TV make this something to stay away from!

Please know that you can bring up virtual number pad for easier navigation.
You can also use the voice command feature by simply pressing the button on your remote.

no app choices?!!

Worst TV ever purchased

Do not ever purchase Samsung TV. It comes with an inbuilt defect. I started seeing a black spot/ black out right in middle of the screen after 2.5 weeks. And the Samsung customer care does it best not to provide the warranty benefits. They out rightly rejected saying it was damaged by physical force. If you want to pay for a defective TV which will damage internally on it own - go ahead it is your loss. I personally had very high expectations from Samsung, just because of that I purchased this TV. But after this incident, never in my life I will ever purchase any kind of Samsung product. Will let my relatives/ friends know about this erratic behavior of Samsung.

Do not use as a monitor or for video games

If anything stays on screen for over a minute, it stays on the screen for 30 minutes or more. Even YouTube thumbnails stay visible after you've tried to be quick about selecting another video. After 5 years there are dark spots burned in at random spots, as well. At least the speakers are fine.
