Waste of money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was really looking forward to having this 4K TV in my study to replace a 40" Sony KDL40W600B that I'm moving into our fitness room. I set up the Samsung and began watching...thought something was wrong as the picture wasn't that good. In fact, it was worse than the aforementioned Sony (which by the way I like very much) which surprised me as this Samsung is supposed to upconvert my existing HD signal. What a disappointment, here I am thinking I'm getting a real nice 4K TV and future proofing myself for a few hundred more than I spent on the Sony - it turned out to be a worse TV. The fact I can't stand some of these manufacturers disguising what the hertz is by making up names like ClearMotion is ridiculous, this was a 240 ClearMotion which means 120 Hz - how many people get doupped thinking they got a 240 hertz TV. In this instance it matters. I was watching an NFL game and there was a ton of ghosting/pixelation during action (not a problem on the less expensive Sony I already had). Even the crispness and clarity of the banner shown at the top of the screen during the game indicating time and score was far worse on the Samsung. Long story short, don't purchase this TV if you're looking to knock your socks off! From what I can tell this is the only 40" 4K HD TV on the market and they've used low end specs. I returned it and will wait for other 40" 4K's to come on the market.

Artificial viewing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought a 40" Ultra HD TV this past weekend and it is going back. Have never disliked a viewing experience this much. All the characters are so detailed and so vivid, they look like pop-up characters or they are in a game. Nothing natural about the experience. I am sorry that TV is going in this direction. We played with all the settings we could find and set it to"natural" which helped marginally. Basically if I were to keep this TV, I would never watch TV again. Be sure you see what it looks like in the store before purchasing. Best Buy Corporate for some reason decided not to hook up their TV's to broadcast stations so that you could see the TV in a normal mode and what it would look like. Also on this TV, the images are sometimes distorted, like a wave passes over them. Altogether unpleasant TV viewing. We are trading down for a Sony Bravia and going for an older viewing experience.

I May Never Know If This TV Is Good Or Not
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. All I can get is a "no signal" from it. I bought a new fast HDMI cable, set it up and took it all apart 3 times, reset to factory each time and my cable box and the TV just won't communicate. I hooked up the DVD to make sure it wasn't the cable - it isn't. I don't know what to do and frankly, I am sick of dealing with it. Anyone have any ideas? The cable box is the Motorola DCX3200 M2.

Not 4K
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is not a 4k TV. 4K is a resolution 4 times higher than 1080p. That means that 4K is 4320 dpi not 2160 dpi as this is described. It is however Ultra HD which 2160 dpi.
