    My brother loves this TV!

It may not be the most affordable 40 inch TV, but it offers a lot for the money. He my brother wanted a good TV to game on and to upgrade from his 2008 model 32 inch LCD TV. This has everything he wants and more. It may only be 1080p but it's not all that noticeable that it's not a 4K/UHD TV. Sound quality is good, loud enough without a soundbar and clear. The smart interface is a breeze, a young child could easily figure it out. Same for setup, took a matter of minutes to unbox and attach the legs. The remote is decent and has a good feel to it. If I had to improve anything it might be to give it 3 HDMI inputs instead of only 2. Otherwise this is an amazing TV. If the size fits your needs then I absolutely recommend.

This Tv doesn’t stay connected to the internet. Each time it’s turned off the only way it works is to reset internet and start over. Restarting router ESV time also works but what a hassle.

40" screen perfect for a small space. Picture quality and sound good. Remote touchy - will move 2 spaces with one press. Samsung Plus feature extremely annoying because the TV always starts with one of those channels rather than the app you were using. Started out on the Baywatch channel which made me almost tear my hair out until I could change. Most of the Samsung channels are maudlin, at best. Tizen format also a bit dismaying because there isn't an app to stream my local news.

We needed to replace our bedroom tv and i was pleasantly surprised at the picture quality and audio performance. For the money, this tv has outperformed my old Vizio by far. Great price, ease of use, i recommend Samsung tv's to everyone i know.

I purchased 40" Samsung UHD in 2022 and have enjoyed it for the last 3 years. I installed the TV in my backyard patio and is the perfect size. I have not had any issues with glare or volume and the wifi connection has been solid.

The good and the not so good

The TV has very good color and sharp picture. Sound is good too. Moving from our Direct TV mode to streaming is more complicated than on our Vizio TV; too sensitive, less intuitive, which I don't like. The Select button on the remote is too small, harder to see in low light. Not happy with that.

Decided I needed a new TV, wanted a Samsung and had to be a smart TV 40 “. I have an entertainment that holds that size TV and my old one was Samsung 40” and 15 years old. Sales person, brought out TV, I paid for it. Was a great price, lot cheaper than 15 years back. He loaded in SUV for me, great service.

Best bang for the buck, really good TV!

Ok, so I'm of the mind that if you get any TV BIGGER than a 32 inch TV that odds are you'll most likely be using it as your primary TV. It's a perfectly fine and acceptable TV, especially for the low price on a top brand, that it's a 1080p and not a 4K is fine, but at least give it 3 HDMI inputs (as opposed to 2 such as on this TV) on a TV that many will be using as their main TV. Ok, that's probably the only gripe about this, well that and a 40 inch TV that's 1080p for $250 is a bit much. I said it's a low price for a top brand, but really their selling their name here as for instance a Vizio 40 inch 1080p can currently be found for $200 at many places and is a trusted brand. IDK, if you want the best out there it'll cost a bit extra and it's still not as expensive as a similar (43 inch is the closest currently available in stores) Sony TV. Ok, enough about opinions. The real pro's for this TV beyond the brand reputation (which I don't mean to underscore, just most are aware of it) is a good preset picture and sound mode. But do yourself a favor and turn off the ridiculous modes that automatically adjust the TV's color according to the lighting in your room, it gets annoying quick. Dynamic mode feels saturated, everyone looks like they got an odd glow around their head. Natural mode may be ok for some, but standard just feels even closer to how it should be, movie mode again may be ok for some, but once again standard mode just feels closer and ultimately closest to how it should be. Sound is best left on standard too, optimized is too weird to me, while amplified is excessive, although it'd seriously be a good mode for anyone hard of hearing or who wears a hearing aid. I guess the number of inputs are adequate, just 3 HDMI ports would be appreciated given comparative pricing of similar models, the Vizio (for comparison) might also only have 2 HDMI inputs (it does, I checked), but it's also $50 cheaper too, so 2 HDMI inputs here feels like their just out to be cheap and give only the minimum. It is nice that it has full component inputs that also can be used as composite inputs depending on your needs. Big plus is that it's a smart TV that doesn't come with one of those little tiny remotes. They never feel right to me. The remote here is quite simply what you'd expect any TV to come with and is a good size and has a good overall feel to it. The buttons are fair sized, certainly not real large, but big enough to be comfortable for most people and certainly not tiny. Ultimately the price of $250 for ANY 40 inch 1080p TV and only 2 HDMI inputs is where this gets 4 stars instead of 5 stars from me at. It's quite user friendly, once you turn off the eco power saving modes that tries to be adaptive but just comes out wrong. Of course only time will tell as to the longevity of it, but that's where brand reputation comes in at, just wish Samsung wasn't yet another company milking their name for every cent it's worth. Still, if you can easily afford it it's the best bang for the buck. Would recommend if you're a Samsung fan or want the very best TV out there, the Vizio is I mentioned is easy to find currently and would be a close second for recommendations.
