But the set up was a bit of a nightmare ( i have cable with a cable box connected via HDMI cable) Everytime it's turned on the screen comes to a certain set up screen for about 20 seconds then switches to the full screen on the last channel from my cable box. I have yet not been able to eliminate this slow weird sart up it goes thru each time. A huge complaint I have on this tv is that it has no sleep timer button. To get to the sleep timer set up takes approx. six clicks on the controller thru a very obscure chain of menu steps that it is rediculous. What is the thinking of the folks that came up with that ? Very stupid. If anyone knows of a tv with sleep timer function in one click please let me know and this tv will be gone and replaced asap.

Thank you for reaching out to us. I believe what you are describing at setup is the TV checking for any necessary updates.
Please know you can set up a routine via the SmartThings app on your phone to turn off and/or turn on your TV at a certain time each day. To setup a routine, go to the SmartThings app on your phone> Tap the Add button (the + sign) at the top right corner and select Routine> Set the Trigger (IF) > Set the Action (THEN) > Save and Name: Tap Done or Save, assign a memorable name to your routine, and tap OK.
