    A mistake

I have a very difficult time believing that this is actually a 4K television. I had a Samsung television in the past and was very happy with it. Two years ago I purchased from Best Buy an LG 4K television. The picture is so vibrant that you feel as if you are in a movie theater. So many pixels that create an absolutely astounding viewing experience. My new Samsung is like watching a non 4K television. Resolution is poor and colors do not pop. Should have gone with another LG. Lesson learned at my expense.

    Excellent TV

An Excellent TV. BUT there's a few things you need to know. 1. Paper Manual is useless as far as features and settings explanations go. You are better off googling the settings, questions or talking to someone that is familiar. 2. The TV is going to need calibration out of the box. First, Eco Mode- Turn it off under general settings for each source, cable box, DVD and if you stream through TV. It dims the picture so much it's not even usable to me. Your refrigerator probably uses more energy even with this off. Probably shut off the Noise reduction too. Here's where it gets interesting. The Auto Motion setting. If you keep it on auto you'll give your movies a live soap opera look or like you are watching a play and not a 'movie' look. It's very weird watching a movie that looks like you are there in the studio watching it rather then watching a film. If you shut it off you'll get the normal film look as movies and shows are filmed. IF it's on and you have horses running it's going to look like you are on a horse trying to record it..off it's better here ! Personally I prefer it Custom and a setting of 5 (so far) but that's me. I was watching a 1938 version of Robin Hood in HD and on Auto it looked fantastic, like a play..but really cool. So you'll have to play with it for your own taste.. The brightness function which goes from -5 to 5 in Standard picture I think, is more like a shadows effect in how dark or light you want 'darks' in background. I prefer -3 or -4. I have my Color at 40 in the Standard picture mode too. I don't like Movie mode personally but others prefer it and a with a warm look. I prefer standard so far and then adjust. Let your eye decide with the rest of the settings. In any event this takes some calibration by you out of the box so be sure you adjust all the main settings before you freak-out and return it. I left the Gamma and RGB settings alone so far. I have 2 4K movies and they look very good but the regular Blu rays look great too. I'm playing them on a Samsung 7500 4K player. It depends on the movie transfer but some Blu rays you may notice noise or graininess and some have, virtually none. The 2 4K's I have I can't notice any grain at all. Just remember the quality of source material is key here and Cable TV channels are not in 4K..mainly 720p and 1080i.. For 4K you'll need a 4K disc and player or a streaming source if you can stream it. So bottom line- A great 4K TV but you are going to have to adjust it to your liking !

    Better Than Plasma

I just picked this TV up today to replace an old 32" Sony LCD. It is like night and day difference. I started to compare it to my 40" Samsung Plasma TV and was blown away with how much better the color and how crisp the picture is even against the plasma TV. I am going to a second on to replace the plasma in the living room.

This is a decent TV but it disconnects from my wifi more than I would like and it's a pain to get customer service to help fix it.

This TV was not the quality I thought it would be. I ended up taking it back and getting a Roku 4d made by TCL, which I LOVE!!

Purchased due to previous smart TV's display starting to fail (lower half of screen darkening). My biggest issue with this new TV is it's inability to honor the 'auto' fit-to-screen setting, so I must CONTINUALLY use the TV's remote (not the cable company's) to change the picture size from the 16:9 to a CUSTOM setting I had to create whenever I want to watch a channel broadcast in analog mode vs, digital mode *or* risk burning the black background due to the smaller broadcast picture into the display (Samsung does not indicate how long it takes for that to happen, they just say prolonged viewing). To make it even worse, I am also forced to use the TV's remote AGAIN when I switch back to watch a digitally broadcast channel to once again change the picture setting to 16:9. Note that both my Custom and 16:9 settings have 'Auto' as the fit-to-screen setting, obviously the fit-to-screen setting does NOT work! My previous smart TV (Vizio) WAS able to handle/honor the 'auto' fit-to-screen settings seamlessly.

The TV seems to be okay but I've had to return two of them and it looks like I might have to return a third one. I've had green screens pop up, blurry faces and I don't understand why. I have three other Samsung TVs and they're great. Not sure if it's the 4K or what it is.

Please note that this review is not for the TV itself; I've done another review for the TV itself stating of good it is for the price as I own several of these. This is complaint about a middle-party - not sure whether its bestbuy or manufacturer transportation etc). I picked up this TV as a gift for my uncle. Since I was traveling for business I was unable to get it to him on his birthday (as I had to mount the TV for him as well). Couple of weeks later, when I mounted the TV in his room, the bottom part of the TV was not working (screen damaged internally as if its been dropped - basically no image at the bottom). Due to Bestbuy's bad return policy I was unable to return the TV (but I did buy my uncle the same TV again as I'm a fan of this budget priced TV with good image quality). Now I have a broken TV sitting in my garage taking up valuable space)
