Excellent TV !!!!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV goes above and beyond with a good picture and stellar features!!!!! The main feature I love is that I can access my USB hard drive right from my TV with no computer needed!!!! I recently went from a older Philips smart TV that was at least 7 years old. When I turned on the new one, I was amazed on how REAL the picture looks. I watched a new episode of SWAT on my spectrum cable DVR, and I was just amazed on how true to life the images look!!! This is a MUST buy.

Great entry level 4K
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There are not quite enough reviews on the entry level 4K televisions. This is a different ball game than which $2000 tv is better. I have had at one time or another LG OLED's and Sony 930 series......great televisions. I give the nod to Samsung for entry level picture and function......especially the 6290. This is my second Samsung entry level purchase. This tv is visually the same as the 6300 except for the remote and some settings. The picture processing and upscalers are the same. The other component of this tv is it's rather good internet function for an entry level tv. This is where its is better than some of the other brands. You have to get higher model numbers to get as good of internet. I am a big Sony fan, but if you need a 4K tv for a bedroom or kitchen you cannot go wrong. I think this is a great entry level tv and stalk your Best Buy ....you can usually find it way less expensive than a Samsung 6300 model with virtually the same picture. GREAT VALUE! DOES HAVE HDR! TURN OFF THE ECO FUNCTION!! (1st thing)

Another great Samsung TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had to replace an old sharp in my bedroom. This tv's picture quality is so much better and is about half the weight of the old tv. The size is prefect for a bedroom and you can't go wrong for the price. Super easy set-up and the volume is great. I would highly recommend this tv

Perfect computer monitor and study TV.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased the Samsung 40MU6290 to replace two Acer H243H 24 inch monitors for my X51 home office computer. After a lot of research, it seems to be very unclear on how to and what is required to achieve excellent results. So I thought I would pass it forward on whats needed for accomplishing a superb 40” 3840 x 2160 resolution computer monitor. What is needed: • Samsung 40” 4K 3840 x 2160 resolution TV Model number 40MU6290. • 4K HDMI cable • EVGA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti SC GAMING, 04G-P4-6253-KR, 4GB GDDR5, ACX 2.0 • Your computer with Windows 10 64 Setting Required: • Set TV to HDMI UHD Color, if not it will look washed out using windows 10. • Set computer to 3840 x 2160 resolution under display settings. • Set GeForce GTX 1050 Ti SC Nvidia software under Control Panel display resolution to 4k x 2k, 3840 x2160 with a refresh rate of 60HZ Now you have an incredible 40” computer monitor and a smart TV that you can run wirelessly off your WIFI.

Great quality TV!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this TV for many years and its technology is comparable to that of new TV's. I'm not tempted to buy a new one because this one has great picture quality and it just keeps working.

Good Gaming TV for the Price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this TV as replacement for an old 32” LCD I used for gaming and am overall happy with it. Picture is generally very good, and input lag in its Game Mode is excellent. Two complaints: 1) there is no headphone jack so I had to purchase an optical digital-to-analog audio converter for use with my old analog speaker setup, and 2) there is no way to completely disable its dynamic contrast; i.e. lighted elements of a picture that is otherwise mostly dark/black are significantly dimmed. For the majority of games and for TV viewing it’s a non-issue, but older retro-style games with large areas of black (think NES Galaga, Gradius, etc., and to a lesser degree even newer games like Polybius) appear dark/dimmed no matter the TV’s settings. The effects of this dynamic dimming can be reduced somewhat by increasing gamma and brightness, by turning on “wallpaper” if the game offers it, and obviously by setting the TV’s “Enhanced Contrast” to Off. If you plan on hooking up an NES Classic Edition and really like space shooters with lots of “space,” know this before you buy. For what it’s worth, the TV’s settings I settled on for my PS4 Pro are: Picture —> Expert Settings: Backlight 15, Brightness 0, Contrast 95, Sharpness 0, Color 46, Tint (G/R) G50/R50, Contrast Enhancer: Off, Gamma BT.1886 +1, Color Space Settings Auto. General —> External Device Manager: Game Mode On, HDMI UHD Color On for HDMI1 (which is irrelevant since I mostly keep my PS4 in 1080p with HDR Off), HDMI Black Level Auto. General —> Eco Solution: everything disabled/off. Your mileage may vary, but these settings seem the best overall compromise for me. I bumped the brightness and gamma up a bit and lowered the color to 43 for my SNES Classic Edition; for the NES Classic Edition’s input, brightness and gamma are maxxed and HDMI Black Level is set to Normal. As for TV viewing, it seems to work well. I don’t have a cable box for this set so I downloaded the Spectrum app, did a little channel surfing and the picture looks decent. I think most people will be happy with this set for TV and movies. Despite the dimming issue and lack of a headphone jack, I’m still giving it 5 stars. At its sale price especially, you can’t beat it for value. For the vast majority of gaming it’s perfectly fine, and TV viewing is good as well.

likely the best in its price range
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There have been some reviews about bad internet connection but that hasn't been my experience at all. I did have two moments of prolonged buffering when I was trying to use the DirectTV Now app but from my experience using the same app on Roku and Apple TV it seems more of an issue with the app itself. I can imagine a spotty connection being an issue if you have the tv too far from your modem or router. If you want to use this tv in a bedroom and that bedroom happens to be on a different floor than the router and you live with roommates or family who are also sharing the same internet speeds, you might want to upgrade to a wireless mesh router setup. If this is going to be your main tv and it's in the same room as your router, I recommend using an ethernet cable to fix any spottiness. Apart from potential connection issues, the factory settings for picture quality are pretty bad but those are easily fixed and totally based on viewing preference and use (I'm not using this tv primarily for gaming but many people will). General Suggestions: turn off HDR+ mode, turn off Contrast Enhancer, turn off Auto Motion Plus, and turn off the Eco Ambient Light detection thing. I chose Movie as my Picture Mode and then made tweaks from there. This is a amazing tv for the price and such an easy setup. Of all the setup, I spent the longest signing in to all my accounts but I could have cut that time in half if I'd plugged in my wireless keyboard at the beginning. Get a wireless keyboard with a USB dongle and plug that thing in!

Best affordable 4K TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off I wanna say that I don't ever take my time to make reviews... but this TV has definitely blown me away. I bought a Sony 40 inch KDL40W650D. I was not too happy with the quality of the TV, and it was recommended by a best buy employee. Worst recommendation he made, but after seeing this one on sale and that it's also 4K, I decided to return my Sony and exchange it for the Samsung TV, and honestly. Honestly I don't know why I wasn't recommended this TV, when I told the guy exactly what I wanted? But overall, I am extremely satisfied with the TV. The quality is top notch. Of course you have to find the settings that best suits you, but once you have it set up the way you want it, I guarantee you will be amazed. I would recommend this TV to anyone looking for a great budget 4K TV.

Worth the money for a change
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TV set up was extremely easy. Wifi connected without a hitch. I use the "over-the-air" antenna and it found 40 stations quickly and even weeded out the weak ones. I'm totally impressed with how easy it is to get what you want on the TV and the ease of set up. This doesn't happen often. I would totally recommend this TV and especially at the $329 price point.

So far, so good.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just bought this TV today. This was last years version, there is a current model for $100 more. I compared the specs for both TV's, and everything looked identical. The one that I purchased listed as having two 2.2 HDMI, which is good. That means more bandwidth for faster transfer from connected devises. It is strange that the more expensive version just listed as having fast HDMI, which could mean anything. When I got to the store I asked a sales person, he said the current model has a faster processor. I doubt if a person could tell the difference. I like it and at $330 plus tax is very reasonable. I also like the Smart TV feature. The remote seems tough enough. Some keys are too small, but I can get by. Panasonic bar none, puts out the best remotes I have seen, built like a rock and nice and big.

Great secondary TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased as a secondary TV and very pleased with the picture quality and features. The Y shaped center mounted stand was another reason I purchased this over the newer model with the two corner mounted stands. It feels far more stable than the newer stands.

Absolutely amazing!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off, I just want to say that my Samsung 3 series crapped out on me a few weeks back, after 10 years. I did a lot of research on 4k tv's and read a lot of reviews about TCL and how good it was for the price. Although the Roku was great with cell app remote and could plug my headphones in so I didn't wake the kids up...that was the greatest feature, because the pic and quality absolutely s.....d! Returned it today and got this tv for even swap. Just set it up and played Xbox one s....out of this world! I do not have cable, but rather an antennae and still blown away from the tv's clarity. I will only stick with Samsung from here on in. If anyone out there can help me figure out how to play dvd's through my Xbox, i'd be much obliged. Disc can not be found no matter what I do...might be the Xbox because it happened with TCL as well. Other than that, this tv deserves 10+ stars to say the very least.
