Nice for everything except sports programming
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.FIrst, the picture is great on just about everything. Very lifelike for nature documentaries. I loved the smart TV apps like Amazon, Netflix, Etc. The reason I returned this was the sports programming. I read online forums that described blurry images and even saw a few examples on youtube. All football and basketball games viewed with this TV were as if you were watching without your glasses. It was un-watchable. Neither Samsung nor my streaming cable provider could help. I don't think it was the streaming service because other apps worked fine, and other channels worked fine. At the end of the day I couldn't live with the purchase because half the reason I decided to get a cable streaming was to watch ESPN sports programming. If you don't watch any sports ever, go ahead. Otherwise, look elsewhere.

Power Off
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm extremely shocked that I have to write a review about my Samsung Smart TV. I had just purchased this TV 2 months ago and the screen all of a sudden turned completely black as if it was shut off. I tried to turn the device back on and the red indicator button was blinking but, the TV still appeared to be off. I then attempted to unplug the tv and plugging it back in, several times, ranging from 10 minutes to a full day. Then, I attempted to resent the TV by holding down the power button for a few seconds. The red indicator/power light blinked continuously then stopped. Then, I tried transferring the plug into a different outlet thinking that it might have just been a different a low power source hence why it didn't turn on. Foolishly, I didn't buy an extended warranty because I believed all the rave about Samsung having the best TVs on market. I thought to myself "Hey I had lesser quality TVs that lasted 10 years, Samsung should last me long and be better". I tried calling Best' Buy's Geek Squad to see if there was a different method I could use to turn it on but, all they could do was give me the number to Samsung Support. Of course, I had no choice but to call Samsung. All the representative could do was start "troubleshooting" by telling me to do the same exact methods that I did prior to the call. He stated I understand that the TV isn't working properly but Samsung only has a limited warranty. He was more than happy to send a repair team over within the next 3 days but he reassured me that depending on the type of repair, I might need to pay out of pocket. All I can think about is how could a Smart TV by Samsung only last me 2 months. I am highly upset and disappointed.

Bad sound, bad image quality

When i got the tv i was mostly excited to use it for my ps4. I instantly noticed something odd and the images looked blurry and very dotty it was very noticable when images were in the back ground or when in motion. When close to an object the image looks amazing but it wasnt consistant. The Sound was very underwhelming and weak. There was no base and the sound was just bad. A 20 dollar speaker sounded better then this tv. Before this tv i had a old phillips plasma and the sound was so much better, it sound crisp with decent bass to it. The images were clear and never had complained about it. I had used it for about 5 years. I really thought a new tv would make the image quality and sound better but it was actually a 300 dollar downgrade. sadly the samsung tv is not a good tv. I will definently return it and might get a vizio or another phillips.

Okay TV - Buggy Software - Bad customer support

Having always heard all the hype about their phones and electronics, I decided to give the TV a trial. The reviews on Bestbuy and other sites like Amazon, Target seemed positive on average. The price seemed good. And I knew if I didn't like it, I have Bestbuy's Holiday Extended Return to fall back on. So here are the pros and cons from a first-time Samsung customer. Pros: Unboxing was easy, no wild surprises. Set-up was easy, except for the part involving my newly created Samsung account but more on that in the Cons. Navigating the Settings was easy as the menus are simple, intuitive and user-friendly (something I truly value when it comes to electronics). Many popular streaming apps are also pre-installed, including Netflix, HBO, Vudu, Hulu, etc. I know many here have complained about bloatware, but I don't see the pre-installed apps that way, but it's just me. Sound and picture qualities are nice, not top tier but can't complain given the price. Cons: 1. Limited HDMI ports, 2 to be precise. Might work for someone who doesn't plan on plugging in too many devices at the same time, but then again you know (or should know) this ahead of buying as it's in the Specs description. 2. Processor appears to choke rather often if you press the remote buttons a bit too fast for its liking. Software also seems buggy when I tried to sync the TV with the SmartThings app. Even as simple as signing into the app from my phone or my Samsung account from the TV seemed buggy as it kept giving me error messages about incorrect ID or password. After 5+ times, quite obvious problem lies with Samsung' servers and software. 3. And now, my biggest thumb-down for this TV and Samsung. I simply can't register it with Samsung! Potential buyers should know the only way one can register with Samsung is through their website with the Serial Number (S/N) one gets from the back of the TVs. I tried that, many times until I gave up and it still gave the same error message: "The S/N is either invalid, incorrect, or the TV is more than 3 years old, or the TV was purchased outside the US." Samsung customer support is no help here either. After spending hours with them being routed through multiple departments, they did not and were not able fix the problem. Wow, how hard is it to fix something so minor in the database! One representative even told me that register the TV doesn't really do much except for some trivial benefits! Hmm then why does Samsung website list a requirement for a customer to exercise the warranty is a registration of the product? Even more intriguing is the fact that the morning after my struggle with Samsung, I logged into my Samsung account and discovered a product with a different model number has been registered to my account. Under it, the status of its warranty: "Unknown." To sum up: before buying this TV, ask yourself how important a warranty is to you. What if in a month or so, the TV stops talking your WiFi router and you can't stream anymore? In my brief experience with Samsung, this TV is going back to Bestbuy, quickly, together with any future Samsung purchases. Not worth the risk!

Poor internet connection etc.

When you open the box, you can tell it is made on the cheaper side, however we were not worried as it was not very expensive. After setting everything up, it worked fine, however the internet connection would go out and you could not watch anything on hulu or netflix to stream. All of our other items worked perfectly fine and it was only 10 feet from our internet router. I reset the TV, it would work fine and then the same thing would happen. We returned it and spent more on a newer model. Overall, poor quality and the only troubleshooting I could find online was to download an update to a USB drive and then install it on the computer. Which, you shouldn't have to do with a new product as this should be available through an update on the TV itself. I would recommend that you do not buy this TV and purchase a newer model.

The soundbar creates an almost life like environment that you can feel. Alexa is quite helpful as I don't have to get up to change my music. Excellent purchase on my end!!

However I was highly unpleasantly surprised when I could not add the NHL app to this smart TV. I was able to add this app to my other TV which has Roku but for some reason with this TV it's "incompatible". Dealbreaker.

Prepare to purchase more equipment

The builtin speakers are junk so you will need to purchase a soundbar as well. My old DVD player wouldn't work with the new TV so I had to purchase a new blu-ray DVD player as well. I also had to call my internet provider to increase my internet speed in order to get the full 4 K experience while streaming, so that is an additional $30 per month. After purchasing an additional $300+ more in equipment I'm very pleased with the TV, but it was costly.

Wifi cuts out after a couple days

I thought the first TV was just a lemon, but now I realize that all the TV's for this model are lemons. I bought a two year warranty for the second TV because I had doubts in the quality. I think Samsung outsources the build of this TV. BOTH times the internet cuts out after a couple of days. Shows connected, but cannot connect to Netflix or Spectrum. The only solution is to unplug and replug the TV. I have never seen something so bizarre. I have two other 55" Samsung TV's that work great! I am sure it has something to do with the required login to your Samsung account. I do not have to login to the other two TV's. Samsung what happened to your product? The quality has gone down hill! I now have return the same TV twice. Very disappointed! Best buy will soon have a stockpile of open boxes for your inferior product,

Color saturation is blown out just like every Samsung TV but it was expected which is great for sports and games. The smart functions are on par with other tv manufactures. Best in-class for the price paid.

Never hated a tv so much

There have been consistent issues over the last several weeks that have made me want to throw this tv out the window! First off I hate the smarthub, it’s loaded with apps that I don’t want and automatically plays ads and shows that remind me of infomercials. But my biggest issue comes from the buggy software that never wants to connect to the internet. My Hulu and Netflix apps never load my shows and they give me error messages. I’ve found that I have to do a manual update daily to fix this, which is super annoying. I’m getting ready to hook up my old Roku to this tv and just be done with the smart feature. We have 4 TVs in the house, this Samsung, 2 LGs, and a Sony. I can tell you I will never get a Samsung again and wish I would have gotten another LG!

Great picture....Sound is terrible!

Setup was easy and much to my delight, as usual with Samsung TVs, the picture was outstanding. Samsung needs to get with the program and fix their sound quality problems.....I almost want to return the TV because the sound quality is so annoying.

I’ve owned tv since 12/2019 with zero problems. Just not impressed with sound
