It took about 2 weeks to get used to it. Don't know if its because I bought open box but the tv turns off every once in a while. In about the 3 weeks that I've owned this, the tv has turned off about 5 to 6 times. It also has Bluetooth issues, if you are watching Hulu and it comes back from ads the audio has to resync again so you cant hear anything for about 3 or 4 seconds and if you try to rewind you have to rewind further back to a scene you already watched because the audio has to resync if you rewind too. I'm using Bluetooth with a sound bar maybe if you connect and optical audio cable to the sound bar it will be better for you

We appreciate your purchase and feedback on the TU690T TV. I'm sorry that you are having a power cycling issue where your TV repeatedly turns on and off by itself. Please try a few troubleshooting steps that may help solve the issue:
1) Check the power cable for damage and proper connection.
2) If the cable is bent, broken, kinked, pinched, pressed excessively (possibly by a heavy object on top of it), or damaged, this is likely the cause of the issue. Replace the cable.
3) Unplug the TV from the wall outlet for 30 seconds, then plug it back in.
4) If the power cycling allows enough time between powering on and off, try updating the TV to the latest firmware. There is a risk, however. If the TV turns off during the software update, it could damage the TV. Updates can take up to 30 minutes, depending on network speed, so if the TV is not turning off too frequently, try updating the software.
If the issue persists after these steps, the TV will likely need service. Please contact us so we can better investigate your issue and assist you with a solution or replacement. I’m glad I’m still within exchange period so I can get it replaced. I have many other Samsung tvs and they’ve all been a great experience.

The lowest timer to set for unused time is 4 hours, I wanted about 30 minutes. The bells and whistles are good for this price and brand. Samsung offered some channels to check out.

Thanks for choosing Samsung and providing us with feedback on the Parental Controls. There are a few features that allow you to control what your children watch.
Using the Program Rating Lock function can help control what programs children can watch on the TV based on their ratings. This does not block programs from external sources such as Blu-ray players, DVD players, or USB files.
Go to: Settings > Broadcasting > Program Rating Lock Settings.
When you access Program Rating Lock Settings, you just enter the security PIN. You must also enter this PIN to watch a blocked program. The default PIN is “0000”. To change the PIN, go to Settings > General > System Manager > Change PIN.
Although the Auto Power Off feature allows you to turn off your TV automatically after four or more hours of inactivity, you can utilize the Sleep Timer Function, which will turn your TV off after 30 (or more) minutes. Go to Settings> General> System Manager> Sleep Timer.
