Customers frequently mention the excellent picture quality and affordable price of the 48" Class (47.6" Diag.) - LED - 1080p - HDTV. Many users also appreciate how easy it is to set up. Wanted a new TV for my apartment living room and this was the perfect choice. 48" was just the right size. The TV itself looks great and was easy to assemble with the stand. Took maybe 5 minutes. The picture quality is also great. The main thing i was worried about was input lag when playing my XBONE on it. Safe to say that there is NO input lag. So if your're looking for a nice size TV to game on then this is perfect. Halo 5 and Fallout 4 look amazing on this TV. As others have said the sound quality is not good at all. In fact its very bad. However i have a Vizio Sound Bar (which i highly recommend) so that's not an issue for me. If you are going to buy this TV make sure you have some external sound system set up. I added some pictures but as with any TVyou need to see it in person.

Originally I went to purchase an LG TV but as it turns out, it didn't have that great of a picture. It was a toss up between this 48" Samsung TV and the SmartTV version. I went with this one because the SmartTV, no matter what settings were changed, had too dark of a picture. Getting this TV home I hooked it up to my custom surround receiver, the DVR, and my PC which also includes a Blu-Ray Player/Burner. It had just enough HDMI connections for me to do what I needed, but could have had one additional for future upgrades. I do like how it has an optical out on it, but the surround codecs it uses are basic at best. I ended up using Optical off my PC through it's EQ'd surround and the Coaxial off my DVR for surround. Both of those are much better quality sound than what this TV can put out. There was also an input delay when hooking the TV to the PC for gaming purposes. It was just enough to really make a difference when playing FPS (First Person Shooter) games. Game Mode is disabled when connected to a PC for some reason. Samsung purposely did this based off the research I made on it. For some reason, Samsung doesn't believe PC's are capable or need the Game Mode settings turned on, but this is definitely NOT the case as my PC gaming far outdoes anything any console can ever do for years to come. This was the only downfall to the settings on the TV, however, the work around is to set the TV in Sports Mode which does almost the same thing as Game Mode and clears that input lag. Color settings are a bit vague as well, but just a little tweaking and you can get the colors just right. If there's too much darkness/contrast, instead of manually adjusting the contrast settings, switch between Low and High settings on the HDMI Black Levels. Overall, for the type of TV this is with the slower speeds (60hz), this TV isn't all that bad if you are looking to save a few bucks for something that's bigger and can be used for Satellite TV, Movies, and PC Gaming. And if you do own a PC and plan to hook it up to your TV, definitely don't run with the SmartTV. You can do everything you would with the regular LED TV hooked to a PC that you could with the Smart Features, and it'll save you a few bucks along the way :) *Side Note: The stand was a bit cheap to me... I went first on Amazon, but ended up using the manufacturer at AV Express. They have some really great stands/mounts. Despite their one bad review with the BBB (Better Business Bureau), they are a very decent company to order from. Fast shipping and great customer service..

I love the pic quality in this TV. I put it side by side with my 4k TV and there isn't much difference. Only downside with the TV is the very bottom. The quality there is not very good. There is light coming from somewhere in the TV there that shines in the bottom and makes the quality bad. However, the work around is to place it at a slight angle then that fixes it completely

I believe that Samsung TV's are the best. They seem to have the brightest pictures, and the closed captions are larger than shown on the LG brand. This is a Samsung Model "....5000". If I had it to do over again, I would have bought the "....5200" model. The 5200 is actually cheaper and probably a better TV. Both models have 48-in. screens.

This is a no thrills TV which is what I was looking for in the bedroom. I did have to take the first one back as it started to show arcing lines from top to bottom on the left side of the screen. Return was easy since I did it within 15 days otherwise it would have been a bigger pain in the butt. And the whole point of having it delivered in the first place was so I didn't have to do to the store, which I ended up doing anyway. So far so good with the second TV

I eagerly set up my new flat screen TV. Not a bad picture, but the bottom of the screen was flawed; it had several spots of light beams along the bottom. Poor workmanship.

We purchased this television as a gift for my father in law. He had never had an HD television before- so there was a learning curve for him- but he quickly adjusted and is amazed at the quality of the picture. The television itself was just the right size for his main living room, is nice and lightweight for set up and we had the whole thing going in under 45 minutes from out of the box, to hooking up the cable, to cleaning up the dust bunnies behind the TV stand!

I was looking to replace a 5 year old 47" Proscan LCD HDTV. I didn't need a smart TV so a basic TV about the same size and it was suggested to me to purchase a name brand TV, because the Proscan was unable to be fixed (part was not available). My Samsung was easy to get installed, very light weight for a large TV. My husband and I were able to install by ourselves. The Picture is very good and the sound is good even with out additional speakers. And to top it off the price was right.

Purchased as a gift to replace my Grandmother's 15+ year old Samsung plasma (even though it was still working). This television has a phenomenal picture without the extra bells and whistles (no smart functions, WiFi, etc. Saves a lot of headache if you're looking for a basic TV). I have purchased 5 Samsung televisions in the past few years and they are dependable, easy to set up, and offer the best HD picture in all categories. 100% worth the extra $ over the off-brands.

This is my third Samsung big TV, and it's just as good as the rest. Great picture and easy operation. Weighing in at about 20 pounds it's super easy to install, and confident it will stay put. The picture for sports is on point.

Excellent TV. Great quality at a great price. We picked this up while scouting for a 40". Absolute clarity and super-light. My family is always partial to Samsung and will stick with them whenever we can.

I have been pleased with this TV so far. The picture quality is great, it was easy to set up. The one drawback I would mention is that the sound is subpar. We had an Insignia prior to this and the sound was much better on the Insignia than on this Samsung. We have to turn it up nearly all the way in order to hear it well, especially when watching sports. I guess we'll be investing in a sound bar soon.

I bought this for my parents, one of whom is somewhat technology challenged. They only needed a simple TV to watch cable on. This TV was perfect for the price, big screen, light weight, easy to use and full 1080p resolution.

Great picture, and very light weight. I like almost everything about the tv, however the plastic at the bottom of the screen seems cheap and I see a few spots where the lighting is a bit off. Its tolerable but now my eye is drawn to this area, especially at night.
